IQ doesn't necessarily increase with age, but it changes. It has a heritability of .4 when you're young and a heritability of .8 when you're an adult. In other words, it becomes less like your environment and more like your genes. Depending on whether you were given a better environment or whether you have better genetics, it'll go up, down, or stay the same.
