Smythe mentioned that his squadron had assigned a special washroom to be gender-neutral for him in an effort to accommodate his non-binary gender identity.

“It had a sign on it saying ‘gender-neutral toilet’ which means I didn’t feel like I was in a male space, therefore I had to be male.”

I dont underastand how "I didnt feel like I was in a male space" = "I had to be male." Shouldnt it be the opposite?

She lost all credibility for me at 7:16-7:41. I have no doubt that she has no issue with those shirts for baby boys that say "ladies love me" (or whatever they actually say), or the hundreds (or have we hit thousands by now?) of tv shows and movies for children that show straight relationships. Those people only ever have an issue when there's even a hint that something other than straight exists.

I don't really mind which blue flag gets used, or if it gets deleted. I've always heard that the blue flag includes gender identity, I just don't care, so either one wouldn't make a difference to me. I only use the flag so there's never any confusion on whether I'm a gay man, a lesbian, or bisexual. The two male symbols can do this as well, but I prefer the flag look. Also I think an ally flair would be fine, it just gives them an option of making themselves more easily identifiable as allies. Nothing wrong with that.

Why are they pretending this happens? Straight people don't like the opposite genitals from what they expect either. Actually, according to that study posted yesterday, they have an even bigger issue being with trans people than the average gay person does, so I don't see the point of this.

Of the seven participants who themselves identified as transgender or nonbinary, 89% were willing to date another trans person.

7 out of 7 is 100%

6 out of 7 is 85%

So how did they get 89% with 7 people?

lesbians and gay men to "break down our sexual boundaries" because saying "no" is discrimination

and

the trans community just sort of "expect" bisexuals to sleep with them.

These are your answer, lesbians and gay men have a major sexual boundary of "no dicks" or "no vaginas" but you'll never hear a real bisexual person have an issue with either of those, meaning that being bi is "acceptable" and there is no need to convert them. Theres also the possibility that, since cotton refers to lesbian women and boxer refers to gay men, bisexuals just get grouped in with whatever sex they are.

Major difference there. Im gay and like men no matter how much other people disagree or hate me for it. It's not the same when someone thinks theyre the opposite sex. They not only rely on others referring to them as the sex they want to be, as well as allowing them to use different bathrooms, but even with all the surgeries, theyll still be the sex they were born as, nothing will change that.

If a woman wants to get pregnant, that is her choice. If a woman gets pregnant and wants to have that child for a couple who cannot conceive, her choice. If she gets paid for it, her choice. If she does it out of the goodness of her heart, or because she wanted the child and later realized that was wrong and adopts it out, or because she was subjected to terrible rapey circumstances and is being paid for her silence ... her choice.

Ironically, these people seem to be very anti-choice. No choice to get married, no choice to be a surrogate. Wouldn't surprise me if they didn't want women to have the choice to get an abortion, seems like abortions would be required by them because "being a mother gives in to the patriarchy" or some bullshit like that

And you mentioned that there are no physical differences between gay and straight but there are between male and female, but they don't like it when you point those differences out, so that might be why they're getting offended

The HIV thing makes sense if you think about it. They want to make it legal to keep trans status a secret from partners. This is a similar situation, although I would consider the HIV secret much worse, since you are stuck with it for life, but that's probably the point. If it is ok to keep HIV status secret, why not trans next? It's not as big a deal as keeping HIV a secret (still a big deal though) so if they can get this through, trans non-disclosure would likely be a piece of cake

If you went to college, how are your official college LGBTQ resources (not student organizations) addressing LGB concerns? by JulienMayfair in LGBDropTheT

[–]SilverWolf 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Both official college resources and student organizations are trans-oriented. The college followed the "trans women gave gays their rights" narrative, and this wasn't college official, but the few times I went to the student-led meetings, people went around saying their names and pronouns, but there wasn't a single mention of anyone's sexuality. It took me about 3 times of that to figure out why there were no other gay men.

  1. I think i had a pretty nice home life growing up, my parents have lived with my grandparents on my mom's side since i can remember, so my grandparents have been like a second set of parents to me.
  2. I first noticed other guys when I was in middle school, but I was so in denial I told myself that I just wanted to be like them, not be with them. Freshman year of high school I learned about pansexual, and thought I was that for a little while. By senior year, I couldn't deny that I was more into guys than girls, but I thought if I met the right girl then it would just work out. It actually took until my freshman year of college, and meeting who I still think would be the perfect woman for me, to realize that even then, I didn't want to be with her, and accepted that I'm full on gay.
  3. I came out to my family between my junior and senior years of high school. I told them I was gay, even though I didn't fully think I was at the time, because I figured I'd end up with a guy anyways. And if I did find the right woman, then they would just get a happy surprise, because what parent would rather have a gay son than a straight son? Even thinking this, my family took it really well. My Grandma took it really well while I cried; my mom cried and my dad kind of sat there quietly, I don't think he really knew what to say, while I, again, cried; and my grandpa, the one I was really worried about having a bad reaction, told me he'll love me no matter what, while I once again cried. It was a very emotional weekend for me. My younger siblings all took it fine, but there was no crying with them.
  4. I feel close with my family, always have been, coming out didn't change anything.
  5. I don't really feel like there is one person I feel closest too
  6. Besides my parents, siblings, and grandparents, who I consider to be my immediate family, I also consider my roommates to be family.
  7. I have a lot of friends, but I'm not very close with most of them. My 2 current roommates, and my college dorm roommate are the friends I'm actually close with.
  8. Mainly introvert, but there are times I'm a bit more extroverted. 8a. I'm a mediator (INFP)
  9. I think it's important to not part on bad terms, even for a night. There's no guarantee that everyone will wake up tomorrow, and I don't want regret my last words to someone.
  10. I've always struggled answering questions about describing myself, I never know what to say..
  11. I like reading and playing video games for my personal downtime
  12. If I didn't have to worry about money, there are a few countries that I've always wanted to visit. Other than that, I think I would just live everyday doing whatever I felt like that day
  13. Pay off student loans, then maybe buy a home? I don't have any idea how much that would take, or how much would be left after that..
  14. I feel like there are way too many smaller things i regret in life, but nothing really huge that sticks out more than the others.
  15. Similar to the last question, I have lots of happy memories, but none that sticks out more than any other.

Bonus: I haven't seen the last episode yet, but I've been watching Wandavision and have really enjoyed it so far.

Could you explain why this is bad a little more please? I understand that women will be forced to let men who identify as women into their spaces, because only "gender" will matter, which is obviously a problem, but how does this legally affect sexuality?

I remember one Roman myth, about a girl named Iphis. Her parents couldn't afford a daughter, so while the mother was still pregnant, the father decided to kill the child if born a girl. When she was born, the mother raised her as a boy so that she could live. Eventually she was arranged to be married to another woman, and even fell in love, but marriage between two women was "impossible" so she prayed to a goddess and was transformed into a man.

I first started to notice guys when I was around 11 years old, but at the time I told myself that it was just me wanting to be like them, not be with them. I realized I was more interested in being with guys around 14 years old, but I spent most of high school trying to convince myself that I was bisexual, and I just had to meet the right girl. Then, when I was 18, I met someone who is basically my ideal woman, and felt absolutely nothing, so I realized I would never meet the right woman. 18 years old is also when I came out to my family as the gay man that I am.
