I've observed, with HR, the race is usually to become the accuser. Once you say that someone else is doing something sexist, racist, otherist, it almost seems that this instantly becomes law - the accusation is true and cannot be proven false, even if you prove it's false. The only evidence offered is someone coming in, frowning and saying they feel attacked... You can come in, frown and say you weren't attacking them, but for some reason that equal evidence isn't sufficient. Additional evidence, like having a dozen other people say they didn't believe there was anything negative going on still doesn't seem to outweigh the original weight of the complaint.

It's hard to blame HR. They aren't a court. They pretty much just have to try and keep the wheels from being squeaky as best they can, but it's very easy for people to weaponise that unbalanced mix of: The total authority to fire you because of a complaint and The absolute lack of authority to investigate a complaint in full and fire the other person for raising it maliciously.

On the other hand, it could be a warm, summer day, no cubs, no mating season, plenty of food and the bear will trundle pass utterly indifferent to you. It's pretty hard to predict. Unlike a man, you can't really ask a bear what it's doing or why it's there, and baring you having a big'ol gun, that kind of ends your autonomy to address the bear situation. After that it's all down to how the bear feels about you in that specific moment.

Same policy with different intent gives the same results. Demand doesn't actually coordinate with supply in media exchanges until you apply that risk. That's why copyright exists.

But the deminishment of demand from Germany is not going to relinquish the demand from everywhere else so commercial production is going to continue.

Yeah, he was especially good at reaching out to gay teens and giving them actual advice and not just telling that they’re fierce. He was always realistic, I recall numerous times him telling a teen who had written in or called that whilst they were under-18/living with their parents/at college funded by parents, if their parents were anti-gay, just tone that shit down until you can get out on your own. Also, telling them to give their parents a chance and time to get used to things.

His “it gets better” campaign to cut teen gay suicide was rather clever and I believe even the Obamas did a video for it.

I had time for him. But the selling out really made me feel that he could no longer be trusted to be unfiltered (he was always giving harsh truths, especially about some of the deranged kinks and practices some people were doing) but if he was going to pass everything through a woke filter then he was no different than every other progressive outlet.

I kinda agree, it does seem like a half-ass solution, at least as far as explained here. But I'm not sure I agree people who download pictures are "true criminals". I think the true criminals are the people who made them (assuming they weren't self-made). If the goal is to focus more on CP producers and less on people who just have the pictures, that would certainly be a good thing in my opinion. But on the other hand, I'm aware of the practical justification for possession being illegal, which is primarily to destroy the market for commercial production. I suppose there's some doubt about whether a misdemeanor still adequately accomplishes that goal.

This is insane. They’re going into schools to troon out kids. This is literally the type of shit we were all told would never happen and that we were being paranoid for even suggesting that the whole endgame was going after kids.

Then again, what’s to stop them? In saner times, people who talked about doing shit to kids were dragged off in cuffs or taken for a car ride somewhere and were never seen again.

Now they operate in the open and cry about being afraid if you merely criticize them.
