College is 20 years in the rear view for me, but at my small college we had a little group of wannabe activists who would look for any issue to complain about. Mind you this is at a school that at the time was maybe 5k students, mostly white, and nestled in the middle of a sleepy town where they all but roll the sidewalks up and put them away at night.

We mostly laughed at or ignored them. Academics there were pretty rigorous but these kids were all either heading to law or education school, so they took lighter load BS majors and thus had time to worry about nonsense.
