FAA: Boeing apparently didn't confirm bonding "where the wings join the fuselage."

I though this was a "the wings fall off" joke. But, no, that's the inspections that were inadequately controlled.

"The FAA has opened an investigation into Boeing after the company voluntarily informed us in April that it may not have completed required inspections to confirm adequate bonding and grounding where the wings join the fuselage on certain 787 Dreamliner airplanes," the FAA said in a statement provided to Ars today.

People should be going to jail, starting at the top. They are all violating FAA directives and endangering thousands of passengers every day due to their non-compliance. There is a long string of people involved in certifying an aircraft, not just the guy tightening a bolt but the inspectors, the certifyers, and the office pukes that guarantee something is airworthy. Every piece of the aircraft has a paper trail, every cotter pin, bolt, panel has been inspected and certified multiple times.

I don't think that's true either. If a positron and an electron annihilate each other the γ rays have the same mass, and the same gravitational potential energy as that positron and electron did.

She's a Malaysian actress, but she's made inroads into Hollywood. I loved Blade Runner. I thought Blade Runner 2049 managed to pull it off without ruining the original movie, though it's not the iconic piece of cinema the first one is. I'm going to hold off making any preconceived notions about this series. It could suck, it could be good. She's a good actress, and it seems like they're not just doing a remake with a race and gender swapped character, so I'm hopeful for that.
