Lol. The US is not an empire, and the media is controlled by like 5 main guys. It is a small cabal of people who control the minds of the sheep. And they are anti west, and anti white. They don't cover France because they don't want any aid to be given to the protesters, even if it is just moral support. They also don't want their grievances to be honestly aired out throughout the west. People will realize that those same problems exist everywhere in the west and might follow in their lead.

Those are the reasons why Europeans think america is shit and want us out of their territory. You will find that anti American sentiment is strongest where the people are the most brainwashed by leftist media. Poland for example is far more pro American and also based. They reject leftist mass migration. They reject socialist and communist rhetoric. They reject the homosexual and transexual agenda.

Leftism and anti Americanism go hand in hand.

On the one hand it would definitely be in the best interest of the US to close down all those over seas bases and cut the military budget down to 1/10th of what it is. On the other, we are only in Europe to deny communist influence. It doesn't matter so much what the seep want, we just want to keep the sheep out of the mouths of the wolves to keep the wolf population in check.

If not for nato Ukraine wold be totally in the hands of Russia right now. And frankly all of western Europe would fall next, one by one. It is easy to see all the problems with what we are doing, it is not so easy to see all the problems with the alternative.

Perhaps the better solution might be to reform the mainstream media, which is controlled by the same elite and have been pushing the anti American narrative around the world for the last 50 years.

Memorization is not IQ. None of what you said changes anything, it is not relavant. You don't get to say that dozens of studies that show people with high IQ do better in school, earn more over a lifetime, and live longer is all disproved because some low IQ guy can memorize cards. This logic is insane.

Parental education means the educational attainment of your parents. As in: hs diploma, graduate degree, master, or doctorate. I can't even tell what you seem to think it means with that rant at the end, but you should see a therapist and try to fix your relationship with your parents.

I don't think (thinking) skill between activities translate well at all.

Well guess what, actual science has proven you wrong. Studies show that there is a lot of overlap in technical fields. The only thing that has not been linked are made up "intelligences" like emotional intelligence which was only invented to obfuscate the fact that some people are smarter than others. Also you are conflating skills and intelligence. Or to be more precise skills and IQ.

IQ is a very specific measurement of the ability to solve problems. It is conceptually very similar to understanding things, as you put it. However, the way you put it is vague and doesn't have a concrete meaning. However, solving problems is easily definable. You can either figure out the puzzle or not, and you either do it fast or slow. That is what IQ is.

Someone with a high IQ will "figure out" math or science or whatever else faster than someone with a lower IQ. Very reliably. That does not mean that they are born with the ability to do "difficult math" and as such testing people using math problems does not reveal their IQ. However, when you test apples to apples, for example 10th graders, you find that higher IQ translates to better math, science, and reading comprehension scores.

So no, IQ does not vary depending on what you studied. Your understanding of a particular subject will, but you can't derive IQ from testing a subject. IQ test do not have any questions in them that require knowledge of any subject.

some people can't understand math but find science easy to understand

This is not something that is scientifically proven. People have preferences but the actual studies show the opposite of what you are claiming. They show that on average if you are good at math then you are good at science. This is the perfect example of "if it supports my argument I don't need evidence". People's feelings about how well they do, and the social narrative of everyone has a thing they are good at, is not science.

It also doesn't reflect anything when someone is close to the average.

first of all IQ is generally measured from 50 to 150. Second, you need to stop with these baseless claims you are pulling out of your ass. IQ has been scientifically shown to be able to make predictions. Obviously there is some variability, but when you measure groups of people it is the most accurate measure of test scores of anything ever tested including wealth, parental education, or any other excuse liberals use to explain discrepancies. It beats all of them hands down; literally by an order of magnitude. You need to stop denying reality.

You could make the argument that Q is a better measure if intelligence, but there is not as much testing done with it because of the suppression of intelligence testing by academia.

It makes accurate predictions and that proves it works. Claiming otherwise is denying science.

No there is not. There is an epidemic of stupidity spreading through academia that allows for propaganda to be spread so long as it is leftist propaganda. There is zero evidence to show that there is more violence, sexual or otherwise, on college campuses vs the rest of society.

Occupy wall street was gaining momentum until it was infiltrated by certain groups who divided everyone into segments. Black people would go up to the podium and make it about black oppression. Gay people would inject their own agenda. Every sub group within the protest was herded and told that this was the time to voice their personal grievances and if anyone didn't think this was the place for it that was a personal attack against them. This divided the people and eventually lead to the collapse of the movement.

After that you began to see corporate sponsorship of identity politics like gay pride marches, BLM, and likely groups like Antifa who keep their sponsors secret.

And as such, we should not point fingers regarding stupid shit like that and should instead try and have conversations about policies, whether or not either of the potential illuminati stooges would ever do the right thing anyway.

When they only give time to arguments from one side like this:

It's very easy to come up on television and say 'I used it and nothing happened', but how could you guarantee that not everybody would benefit or not everybody could be harmed with the approach you have taken?"

and this

I can't believe any good journal would accept a clinical trial that would publish a study without that quality criteria met. But with this condition, this pandemic, everything is so important that these quality benchmarks are not being met,

And don't give any time to pro use arguments I don't see where you are getting that vibe. Maybe you can point out the parts that balance this anti HQC rhetoric with pro HQC rhetoric. And "it might be safe" is not a balance for "no good journal would accept these studies" and "even positive results mean nothing"

When they strongly insinuate that the studies that show it works are biased and untrustworthy with this:

Now, if you look at the literature, you can see two groups. One group is supporting the use of Hydroxychloroquine and the other group is opposing the use of Hydroxychloroquine. If you look at the results of the trials, you will see some very good results supporting the use of Hydroxychloroquine and this is coming out from a particular group,"

Which is pretty much slander against anyone conducting trials, how can you pretend they are giving both sides equal time?

People need to understand that the media is the mouthpiece of the elite. They are never unbiased. They are not to be blindly trusted. This article claims to be unbiased but is clearly in bed with everyone who is standing in the way of reasonable use of this drug to save lives.

The elite want as many people to die as possible because they want to exploit the fear and uncertainty to get more bailout money. The longer the quarantines are in place the more leverage the elite have over the working class and over the government.

This particular article insinuates that the scientific evidence showing the efficacy of this drug is only coming from supporters in order to discredit them, when logically when the results show it works the scientists would support using it. Their criticism is not logical.

Then they go on to amplify and exaggerate the risks when in reality this drug has been used for decades and has proven to be safe. The claim that it is not safe because it requires a prescription is not true, it is propaganda.

Then they claim that proper studies can't be done because they would require a control group. They are parroting the propaganda of the obstructionist elite who say we can't do testing for moral reasons and then say we can't use it because it hasn't been tested. So somehow it is moral to deny people this treatment so long as it is not part of a trial.

This is not journalism, it is propaganda. DON'T TRUST THE MEDIA.

Let's also consider the possibility that there is no knife and Malcom's narrative of oppression ,or anyone else with this perspective, is not historically accurate or complete. This then becomes the quote of someone who is completely unreasonable. (I am not arguing that slavery did not exist)

Take for example the people calling for Reparations. A figure as high as 17 Trillion dollars. Demanded from people who were never slave owners, and paid to people who were never slaves. And once the payment is made the response is "oh you have not even begun to pay me back".

So for this quote to have any validity you have to assume that not only is the speaker 100% right about their analysis of the situation but is also totally honest and not just spinning their unreasonable demands into something that sounds more reasonable.

This is something that would be said by someone who is never satisfied and any further appeasement of their demands is futile and ill advised.

It is also technically inaccurate as any road to recovery would require the knife to be removed, and therefore the process of removing the knife is in fact progress towards that end.

The only valid quarantines at this point are for the elderly, and area wide ones when that particular area reaches 80%+ hospital capacity.

The first people to get through this will be the first to reopen their economies and will have a huge advantage over everyone else in the recovery.

Imagine being the only place with working factories. That is an advantage that will pay dividends forever. An advantage like that will establish you as a producer and that will not just go away after the quarantines.

You get diminishing returns the bigger the group is and the more open it is to inducting outsiders. Once the group is bigger than 50-100 people and you are forced into groups it becomes a huge detriment. The predators take advantage of the sheep, and that in turn makes everyone avoid doing work and instead try and take as much advantage as possible.

Why is it that every conversation with you devolves into you either not being able to follow the conversation or pretending you can't follow the conversation to try and take it off the rails?

Efficiency has nothing to do with it.

Teachers are measured all the time. They have to create lesson plans, report about how the class is doing, etc.

This is what I am responding to. The conversation is about performance metrics, and what makes a teacher good. I am pointing out how a lesson plan is not a valid measure of the quality of a teacher, or of how hard they work, or how intelligent they are, or how effectively they teach the kids.

IQ tests are absolutely not "limited" in measuring how easily students learn; that is what they excel at. It is what they do best. And they absolutely do not have bias, that is propaganda.

Most teachers teach the same class every single year, they can just reuse lesson plans, download them from the internet, follow the text book etc. It can all be done in one weekend and reused forever. Having a lesson plan does not make you a good teacher.

Reporting how well students are doing is completely subjective. It is simply giving your opinion. Every moron on the planet has an opinion. Having an opinion does to make you a good teacher.

The only valid way to measure a teachers performance is to test the students at the beginning of the year, test them at the end of the year, and test their IQ. How much they learned, corrected for IQ is as close as you could ever get to an objective measure of a teachers performance and no one does that. In fact the entire industry is currently in denial about IQ altogether.

It means left wing collectivist.

They don't believe in individual freedom. Everything is group identity politics. They spin everything into group power struggles. They push an anti white narrative that claims white people have all the power and are therefore responsible for everything including the struggles of non white people. While at the same time they don't deserve credit for anything good because that is simply a result of their power. And so everything they have can be attributed to the abuse of power and assumed to have been stolen from non white people or created through exploitation of non white people. And they seek to turn the tables and make white people subjects of non white people.

Their propaganda centers around the claim that inequality is the result of corruption and that their efforts are merely to rectify these inequalities. However, there is always a double standard to every claim such that if there is an inequality that favors a non white person that is not something that should be rectified.

They put out propaganda about how it is unfair that the .001% have 50% of all wealth and the bottom 50% have 5% or some shit and then the solution is a welfare program that takes money out of the pockets of the middle class who pay all the taxes while the 1% still don't pay a dime. Meanwhile the welfare program is the 50th one and the last 49 did absolutely nothing to reduce inequality because all the money you hand over to the welfare class is squandered. I agree. The fact that we have handed over our currency to central bankers who have the power to print the money at will, while the government has to borrow from them and pay it back with tax dollars is absolutely retarded and unjustifiable.

Elon Musk has revolutionized the online payment industry, the space industry, and the car industry. He deserves to be a billionaire.

Teachers babysit the kids while their parents go to work. There are very few teachers who even come close to benefiting the kids as much as they would benefit from a stay at home parent who would home school them. Home schooled kids can get all their studies done in about 3 hours and actually learn the material, which is proven when they outperform state schooled kids on all standardized test.

Not only are teachers a shitty substitute for parent's raising their own kids, but they have become obsessed with brainwashing kids with their own political beliefs. Every single kid today has been told by multiple teachers that if their parents are conservative it is because they are ignorant. It has gotten to the point that if you aren't censoring conservative views in your class you are considered by other teachers to be a bad teacher.

"there are many good teachers" is just like saying "most cops are good people". It is a meaningless platitude. If you actually try to define what good is and compare it to reality you will find that the opposite is true. Most cops would not cross the blue line to hold bad cops accountable for crimes and most teachers would not cross the union line to do what is best for the children or their education. That is why they always oppose the voucher system and charter schools.

The ONLY us vs them that matters is the ruling class's class warfare.

No it's not

Your binary black and white world has ZERO nuance

My binary world? This is literally double speak.

You can't solve the poor until you solve the ruling class.

You can't solve poor period. It is a relative state. The people on welfare in America are richer than most people who work in 3rd world countries, let alone the billions of jobless people around the world. They would not be considered poor if there were a global standard. So at this point they are not really poor, just poorer than others in America, and so they want more. That is just greed. And greed is a bottomless pit you can never fill.

I am all for fighting the corruption of the rich, and if you can't solve poor without it then let's stop demanding more welfare until we solve corporate corruption.

Who are you to judge Joe Blow and his "corruption" that is likely on par with your own.

I am not corrupt. I don't scam anyone or anything. And I certainly would never have the audacity to demand that if I did others better look the other way and not judge me.

And they are responsible for the circumstances, position, and limits of Joe Blow

fuck off. Everyone is born naked and destitute. It is your parent's responsibility to provide for you. Not the state, not the rich, not your neighbors. It is Joe Blow's parent's who are responsible for the circumstances, position, and limits of Joe Blow.

You show zero greater contextual understanding.

Your impression that you have a greater contextual understanding is pure delusion.

Saying that the teaching profession does not have a functioning way of measuring teacher performance is not a stereotype, it is a fact.

Saying that this means they don't have to compete is not a stereotype, it is a fact.

Saying that they live in a bubble, given that 90+ percent of teachers are liberal, is a fact.

Saying that being in a non competitive field, surrounded by liberals their entire life makes them detached from reality is a fact.

You can't teach anyone anything because you are ignorant. All you can do is make baseless accusations, insults, and demand that others agree with your opinions.

Teachers in general don't understand how the world works. They live in a bubble where their own performance can not be measured, so they never have to compete. That means stupid teachers are on the same footing, get the same pay and benefits, the same raises as intelligent teachers. The same goes for lazy vs hard working. The only real thing that can make a difference is building relationships with administrators to get benefits through nepotism.

This is why they hate standardized testing so much. They absolutely hate anything that exposes discrepancies in performance.

This is a big factor in why they are overwhelmingly left leaning. Personal effort is worthless in their world while collective action through unions is the most powerful thing they know. So in their world collectivism is the answer to everything while personal effort is useless.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The perfect quote for leftist policies. Welfare is the perfect example. People on welfare never get the opportunity to develop into productive members of society. They don't develop the skills needed to be successful in the workforce, they don't get the opportunity to work their way up and build a career, they don't learn any skills, they don't network. Welfare is like a drug, you get a high and you get addicted. The end result is terrible.

punch up

A phrase often used by the left to justify their anti white racism, or to shut down criticism of their bullshit. Stop looking at everything through a lens of us vs them. There is no punching up or down, there is only truth and lies, right and wrong, logical and illogical.

Joe Biden's corruption does not justify Joe Blows corruption. It is not a valid argument to tell people to ignore Joe just because Biden is corrupt.

I'm not against welfare, but it has to be reformed. We absolutely need to stop pushing for more and more welfare. If we do that maybe we will be able to work together to put a stop to Biden's corruption.

I think you are confused because you are seeing everything through a lens of "us vs them" instead of "does this argument make sense". So when I point out that your argument doesn't make sense you assume I must be a "them".

In a discussion about the meaning of symbols used by a religion it is a counterproductive distraction to start asking if particular aspects of the religion are valid. Clearly you don't think any of the religious beliefs are valid. You are just throwing a wrench into the discussion.

So I am not "defending the church's teachings" when I ask why your wrench throwing is relevant to the discussion.

I don't think that his religion was the only thing that influenced his affinity to that catch phrase. A lot of boomers of all denominations would agree with that. Working hard and sacrificing to give your kids a better life so they could have a springboard to more success than you could achieve was the American dream. It was all about the ability to build a legacy. To build wealth. To make tomorrow better than today, and projecting that growth indefinitely down your lineage.

That is why a strong, long lasting nation is so important to them. It is the promise that what they built will not be taken by foreign powers. It is also why they hate socialism. Because socialism will make all their hard work and sacrifice void by taking from their kids and giving it away to all the kids of all the people who did not work hard and sacrifice.

Religions don't by default require blind faith, they offer "miracles" as evidence. It gets reduced down to blind faith when you challenge the validity of the miracles. Many people believe they experience "tiny miracles" all the time. Regardless of whether that is completely imagined, they believe it and therefore to them it is not blind faith.

It also seems that you are conflating faith and obedience. They are not the same thing at all. Every structured system has rules. If you break the rules that structure falls apart. When you go to school you have to listen to the teacher. If everyone ignored that it would be chaos and no one could learn. So the argument that something is bad because it requires obedience is patently absurd.

That is not a claim Christianity makes. You can literally be forgiven of your sins by confessing with the honest intent of being better. The criticism of religion that "it requires (or requests) obedience therefor is bad" is incredibly stupid. Not only is that a blanket criticism that can be levied at any and every religion, it essentially can be used to attack any structure including government or parental authority or any societal structure what so ever. Possibly the only thing that is exempt is total anarchy.

um, guys by SierraKiloBravo in funny

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

the whole reason Christianity is so popular and widespread is because of the martyrdom aspect

Since when? That makes no sense. Is this why you like Christianity? Most people simply follow the religion of their parents. To explore why others converted to Christianity you would have to read a lot of history book, which you clearly did not. I can just about guarantee that people who did not originally believe in Christianity were simply told that Jesus died for them and went "well shit, I guess I should convert".

moral/social leverage that narrative provides,

Can you give an example of how this works?

They wield the narratives for social power,

I can't even imagine a scenario, no matter how absurd, that would actually give someone social power by talking about Jesus dying on the cross. It makes no sense at all.

rather than actually following the teachings of Jesus.

This right here, it seems to me, is the core of your belief. You came into this with the conclusion that Christians don't follow Jesus teachings and then created a whole fucking story to walk people to this claim. But your story is completely illogical, it does not support your conclusion, and your conclusion is clearly not derived from anything presented here; and sure as hell does not follow from "they wear the cross".

[–]Canbot 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A lot of people here taking the liberty to construct all kinds of narratives around this that really only expose thier bias. Tacking this on to your preconceived perception of christianity is not deep or accurate.

As a non practicing catholic who never took any of this seriously I can add the following insight. Many of the "teaching" I grew up with focus on ideas like self sacrifice and "bearing your personal crosses". In that context Jesus's sacrifice of his life is the ultimate ideal that we should strive for. Not with the purpose of dying, but to do what is right no matter the cost.

The symbol is that of altruism, selflessness, and struggle (in the sense of working hard).

And I will add that it is increadibly ignorant to take some else's symbol and attach your own meaning and draw some kind of conclusion about them from that.

And only at the end move in to force it on the rest.

I know advice, even good advice, can often sound silly or stupid but you should really do your best to make anything you try work to have any hope of finding a solution. A lot if times people will not believe in something but will try it just so they can say they tried but they half ass it and subconsciously sabotage it.

With that said, I think you should explore why you have anxiety to begin with. You should try and decouple yourself from a billions of problems that you may feel are important, but are not something you can immediately fix. That means get off the internet, don't watch the news, stay off social media.

Make a plan of how you are going to achieve your goals and do nothing but work on that 24/7. Get lots of exercise. Whenever you are bored, not sure what you should be doing just start exercising or cleaning.
