U.S. politicians are always extremely hypocritical. They pursue power systematically, while pretending to be good, noble and true. Hitler's problem was that he thought Germany was more powerful than it was -- he wanted to exploit other nations like Russia systematically, and simply didn't have the power to do it. The Israelis would certainly like to drive the Palestinians out of Gaza, but, I doubt they'll be permitted to do it. They can police Gaza, not ethnically cleanse it. I agree that some "anti-racism" is anti-white. But, with the history of slavery in the U.S., you can understand the issues here.

OK. But, in that part of the world, that's the only way to survive as a people or as a nation, because that's what everybody else is doing. You don't do it, you will be overwhelmed by the other nations who are. I'm not an Israeli, and I wouldn't want to live there, but, that's the ball game there, you see.

I'm well aware of the reason Hitler hated Jews, I've studied the guy. There were prominent Jews like Rosa Luxembourg involved in German communist attempts to take over Germany after WWI, and Hitler overgeneralized these errors to the entire religion. By no means all Jews were communists. The ones who were, were often well intentioned, naive idealists. My own grandfather visited the Soviet Union as a tourist in 1948. He was an insurance salesman!

In the past, most children never reached adulthood. Hence, to some extent, child abuse is almost instinctive in the human species, it simply didn't matter much what people did to children, since most of them never even grew up to be a factor in human society. That, of course, has changed, so, human behavior must change accordingly.

However, there's no way to get any other kind of ID or driver's license in Oklahoma, and, they're all produced in Indiana and mailed in from out of state. I believe in many states currently, if you want any kind of State ID or driver's license at all, you have to get a real ID, and, in many of the smaller states, they won't let anyone near any of the facilities that actually produce these ID's. In the largest states, I believe people do still have the option of same day, on site pickup of State ID's and driver's licenses, if necessary, but, not in many of the smaller states. Indeed, for many of the smaller states, the process of producing driver's licenses and ID"s has been subcontracted entirely out of state.

Although Texas has Real ID and mails them most of the time, they are still available same day, on site, if you really need them that way. In many of the smaller states, there's no possibility of doing this at all, because they either are subcontracting their production out of state, or the feds have them so spooked by the possibility of retaliation, that they're refusing to let their citizens anywhere near the ID production facilities, or even letting them know where they are! [–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I guess my point is that even though Edward II was weak, after 35 years of full English control, there would have been very little rebel strength left in Scotland by this point, so, even Edward II would have been able to hold it. After all, it took a couple of decades for the Scots to achieve their full independence, even with Edward II OTL. And, even Edward II didn't lose Wales, which was an earlier conquest of his father, Edward I, despite his weakness. As for the Edwards never being born, well, I guess you never know, but there's no obvious connection between the dynastic struggles in Scotland and the birth of the Edwards. And, my point is, combining England with Scotland gives the "British" more manpower and raw materials, so, a better chance to achieve power worldwide. At the time, the English already controlled much of France, it was called the Angevin Empire,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angevin_Empire

so, England wouldn't have had to "take over" France, they already controlled much of it. They just would have had to hold onto it, and, with Scotland as part of this Empire, they would have been in a much better position to do just that.

[–]jerryk[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is precisely correct, from the information I've found online. It's, I believe, the only state producing them in state, but not allowing people to obtain them on site, if they wish. Some states outsource production of driver's licenses to other states, and have them mailed back into the state, so people can't obtain them on site. Other states that produce them in the state, either require people to pick them up at the dmv offices, or give people the option of either pick-up or mailing. Only North Carolina, I believe, produces in state, but mails from the one site all over the state, without people having the option of pick-up. They say it's for "security" reasons.

The conception of a Jewish homeland in Palestine never had majority Jewish support internationally until the Holocaust. Following the Holocaust, the international Jewish community didn't support the idea of a Jewish homeland, exactly, but desired a strong Jewish state with a powerful military to prevent the rise of another Hitler, and to make sure Jews would have a place to go to if another Hitler did arise to threaten Jews worldwide. This is why the two state solution has never really been practical, because it directly implied that the Jewish state was merely an autonomous region with no real political power, hence, of no particular interest to the international Jewish community.

Why exactly do some U.S. states produce their own Real ID's, while other states have them produced in other states, and mailed back to them? by jerryk in AskSaidIt

The impression I'm getting is that the issue is federal regulation. That, although the cost of producing a Real ID isn't that much greater than a conventional driver's license, the federal regulation is much, much tighter. So, the state is responsible for ensuring the training and compliance of any agency issuing these Real ID's, and, in the case of many states, they simply don't want to be bothered with the extra work. So, they're willing to pay some other state to take care of ensuring compliance with federal regulations, so they don't have to be bothered. In other words, pure laziness.

But, that's precisely what I'm saying, on a national scale. Individuals are the "blood" of the nation. A war of attrition amounts to "bleeding the enemy dry". It's not about shooting or killing. It's about depriving the enemy of everything he needs to fight with -- men, material, weapons, ammunition. It's about wearing down the enemy, on a broad scale. Is that any clearer?

Americans feel the same way. Look at their reaction to 911. Basically, all "individualistic" cultures put an extremely high value on their own citizens, and a very low value on everyone else. Socialists and Communists tend to be somewhat more even-handed about this. They're perfectly happy for their governments to kill their own citizens in large numbers for some supposedly useful purpose. More individualist, democratic nations have a horror of their own citizens being killed, but could care less about how many people they kill from other cultures.

Oh, the CIA is brutal as all Hell, and extremely creative in its brutality. But, American culture itself pretends to be totally benign. The notion that life is simply a matter of bleeding your adversary dry is utterly alien to the conventional American psyche. I think the Russians are rather more open about their brutality than Americans are, as this particular film -- which is very good, of course -- helps to illustrate.
