You do understand that Russia is not the Soviet Union, don't you, my friend?

Sure. Putin's a reasonable man, I realize that. However, how do you control a highly violent and rebellious militant population like the Russians are going to find in Ukraine? Even reasonable people will resort to violence and torture if they have no other means to control a rebellious population. If you disagree with me, what do you propose will be Putin's solution? Have the Ukrainians and Russians play Shostakovich chamber music together?

I don't know Putin or what he thinks or plans. Neither do you. It just seems odd to me that when you choose to speculate, it's in the direction you've taken. Maybe the problem is in the eye of the beholder, you do seem to get off on Stalin judging from your post history. No worries, do your thang, no one here is going to stop you though you'll likely get called out for what I consider a gratuitous bullshit take. BTW, that sarcastic remark at the end of your comment was pretty lame.

Hey, no one's forcing you to read my stuff, buddy! I like to speculate and analyze, something that's encouraged in the U.S., although not necessarily in most other countries.

Go for it, no one is stopping you. But as a member here it's my prerogative to say you're full of it. That's also encouraged in the US.
