She's going about this all wrong. She needs to simply state that she identifies as president. Then, we would all have to accept her as president or be culturally insensitive jerks. It's socially not allowed to be so insensitive, therefore she would gain the consensus because we would all recognize her as president.

Haven't read the article yet but was thinking....last year I bought a new car. I've never owned a brand new car, I had a 2006 prior but it was costing more to upkeep than it was worth so I traded it. My old car had no bluetooth or any type of connections, but my new car has all the state of the art type stuff. I thought it was odd though that I can't turn off the radio. I can mute it, but it is always on. Meaning, it is always streaming something since I have xm and I usually link my phone. It maybe nothing, but does anyone find it odd that on newer vehicles we can't completely disconnect with a push of a button? I did some cursory searching and you can disconnect by disabling some wiring, but it is troublesome, at least a bit.

Maybe I am paranoid, I don't know. But I do leave all electronics behind when I run, walk the dogs, or go into stores.

I think this decision probably caused a lot of distress for you and u/d3rr.

It's a little like the laws in place that hold restaurant owners responsible for patrons that drink, drive, and cause injury to others (and themselves). While the owner may not force the customer to drink or the bartender to serve them, the owner can still face charges for the injury inflicted by that customer because they provided the venue. Fair? Not really, but if your name is on the building you have to cover your ass, or find another profession.

If someone out there uses the grey market in a way that results in any harm, this venue will go down. And unfortunately, some “someone” always does in these kind of situations, eventually. While striving to provide a censorship free platform, you can't leave the door open to possible future litigation, otherwise your message will be totally lost. Say the site becomes successful and exposes news and truth that may not be positive towards those in positions of power, it would be too easy for them to shut it down and shut it up.

I think it stinks that the world operates like this, but this is the world we live in at the moment. I support your decision, and would do the same.

Research gives you an understanding of the system, how it works, and how to identify problems. Once problems are identified, solutions can be planned. This is an empowering process, even when the majority doesn't see it but you do. Moving towards a solution just feels good, letting the problem be your guide does not.

Science never arrives at truth. It looks at all options; stupid, opposing, left field, etc. True science can actually never arrive at fact because it can not settle, it must be open minded to new evidence. If new evidence comes into play, it has to be investigated. There was a bill introduced about a year ago that essentially said opposing opinions would not be federally funded in the US, therefore the consensus would not be challenged (don't know if it passed). That old meme "that word, it doesn't mean what you think it means" comes to mind. Science has been bought and will now say whatever the powers that be say it should say. Sad.

The collusion is blatant at this point. Being aware of just a little truth is like having your nose rubbed in shit.

"Child directed" can be a subjective term, like "commercially viable" is as well. Basically, youtube can label you one or the other and poof, you're out. Time to jump ship, which will take some attention since I personally use it every day. If everyone aware of the censorship and collusion on youtube makes a concerted effort to leave it for an alternative, it may hurt them in their bank accounts.

Global Authorities Brace For Worldwide Protein Shortage After "Quarter Of Earth's Pigs Wiped Out" from African Swine Fever by magnora7 in WorldNews

[–]i_cansmellthat 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think the US released a pork disease, swine flu (as well as bird flu) makes the rounds in various countries every year. The difference with this swine flu is that it is more prolific and more farmers are having to kill their stock. Not out of the question a disease was released, but almost impossible to detect in that it is already floating around.

Maybe a coincidence, but it's odd. The demand will outweigh the stock soon, at least in those countries hit with the disease. Easy to foresee someone stepping in here while there is a surplus and storage options shrinking, and saying, "hey I can take that off your hands" and then making a huge profit when the demand soars.

Not sure about the cold storage, will ask my restaurant buddy, he may know.

How many have died from smoking cigarettes again? And yet cigarettes remain on the shelves of every gas station and grocery store in America. The hypocrisy is almost comical. What a shitshow.

New Zealand's latest 'Terrorism Suppression' bill allows authorities to deem you a terrorist 'on the balance of probability' w/o showing you evidence, then control your work/finances/movements/net access & prevent you telling ppl its happening by useless_aether in Freedom

Wow, facial recognition ID to access the internet is probably not far off. Shame, a beautiful country ran by control freaks.

I wonder how much land is deemed "national park" or other protected area? Seems like heavy handed government control likes to rope off large tracts of land, under the guise of protection.

I don't want this incel sub on Saidit. They promote violence, rape, terror, racism and pure hatred. Here's one example of many by [deleted] in SaidIt

I like the focus on the user, not the sub. Freedom of speech means some people will say things you don't like. Personally, the incel sub doesn't seem like my thing, so I don't go to it, but they can do their thing.

Weren't you guys talking about a possible mute button?

Bernie Sanders: Does the DNC have the guts to stand up to the Pharmaceutical industry and healthcare industry? by newguy in politics

Wonder what takes more guts, a group standing up to those industries or a person standing up to the DNC when the presidential nomination is taken from you? Guess we will never know.

Best way to get dog piss off of carpet? by Jesus-Christ in AskSaidIt

This is what I use for carpet, you can do this on other floor surfaces but modify soaking time.

If you don't know where the spot is, you can use a black light to find it. It will fluoresce in the dark. If it's still wet, blot up as much as you can with paper towels. You are going to need a lot of paper towels, and not the really cheap ones. Once you do that, or if it's dry, saturate the stain with an enzyme cleaner. There are a few to chose from, (I like Natures Miracle) and you can get it from pet stores or amazon, just make sure it says enzyme cleaner. It's pricey, if you have several spots you are better off buying it by the gallon which will run $25-33. Let the enzyme cleaner soak the spot for at least 10 minutes, then blot all the liquid up with paper towels. Then let it air dry. Once should work but if it's an old stain or really pungent you can repeat the enzyme cleaner.

Media monarchy with James Evan Pilato. It's more like a news aggregator with critical commentary, he does a live discord stream daily (though he is off this week, I think) which is a pay service but you can go as little as a buck a month, or it's free recorded version is available on podcast or his site. He streams music too, and he works with Corbett for a weekly 10 minute or so run down on news events. Livechat in discord is fun on his stream, though dark and sarcastic.

Is it irony that the article uses reddit to illustrate the gaming community's frustration with censorship? It mentions that the Chinese company Tencent has some ownership of Blizzard, but fails to mention Tencent's large investment in reddit (something like 150 million).

Do you think the focus is drawn away purposely from the Epstein document dump as well? I can't determine if the suicide timed well for less attention to the documents, or if the document dump was to keep researching individuals occupied and away from other issues. Friday was all "Epstein docs" and Saturday was "Clinton's killed Epstein" on the internet, now there isn't much chatter about those documents.

On a side note, it would be fun to develop an internet quiz that determines one's mental hygiene. Scale from 1-10, 10 being too conforming to the point of psychopathy and 1 being schizophrenic heroin mule...

There is this thread from reddit that talks about his head size being too large in perspective to those around him, which suggests it is photoshopped. Of course, this could be misdirection as well. But, if this is an actual photo taken and being shared around the internet, his head is disproportionate to the rest of the pic.
