Good on them for standing up for themselves. Throwing it out there, phobias are anxiety disorders and the word "transphobia" is meant to portray the opposition as having an irrational fear as opposed to having reasoned skepticism. (I say this even though people on this sub use the -phobia words.) So I doubt anyone that uses this word is interested in honest discussion.

The situation would change a lot if it as a catch all term has become meaningless.

Not on corporate platforms which is considered "private property", and the owner is at liberty to moderate and censor at will even if it is more strict than the laws of the land. You may find that discussion-format sites such as forums will curtail speech for arbitrary purposes such as topic relevance (justifiable) or nonconformity of opinions with other users (less justifiable). But other formats of websites do not do this.

So the lesson the West is learning from the past decade is not to rely on corporate platforms for self-expression.

I think that's the culture and style of neocities. I like looking through it because there is often minimal if any at all javascripting on most pages. The downside is that there are plenty of people who aren't good designers and make unreadable pages. E.G teenagers who seem to be caught in a temporal rift to 2001.

You can try reading Elliot Rodgers or Brenton Tarrant's manifesto for start. Shooter manifestos are sometimes autobiographical and detail what they did and why. Their observations of the world aren't necessarily false, but the combination of their social connections or lack of makes certain issues comprise a larger part of their perspective than average.

Example: It is true that Europeans are generally taller than Asians. If Elliot Rodgers was born full-white instead of half-Asian he may have been taller and more attractive to women (the blond, blue-eyed girls he was attracted to). But puberty and early age exposure to pornography created an obsession with sex that was made worse with an inferiority complex.

Conceptually, I think mothers may choose to abort their pregnancy. Just as there are many reasons to have a child, there are many reasons not to. Whichever reasons that may be, I don't judge.

I strongly disapprove of the corporate and commercial nature of American healthcare; the sale or commercial use of aborted remains. At any point, when someone profits from human death, including war, lethal injection, or abortion, the situation is sketchy in my opinion.

I think many people are familiar with the pursuit of money and profits in the absence or abandonment of morals and principles. If American corporations chosen principles (freedom of speech) over profits, there wouldn't be the issue of internet censorship. If bio/medical corporations were firstly concerned with the health of their patients rather than acquiring new patients, there wouldn't be the epidemics of myopia, transsexualism, and covid.

Lust is harder to explain and a lot of it is from personal observation of other people. Pornography addiction can cause serious delusion. I don't know what is going on in people's heads when it happens. I blame it for the incel, coomer, and trans[gender/sexual] phenomenon. A minor can have an innocent interest in cartoon anthro characters or fanfiction, and that is a few clicks away from extreme content that portrays abusive relationships or sexual violence as arousing; or anatomically impossible fantasies, upon which an obsession may develop and can lead someone to try emulating that at the expense of their health (futanari and self-described "dickgirls").

It does not hurt to have a young adult work an entry-level, minimum wage job and start an undergraduate program when they are in 23-25, early/mid 20s to advance their career.

But it does hurt to push a fresh-from-high-school 18 year old, who hasn't fully decided what to do with their life nor has any perspective with the job market, into a student loan contract involving more money they have ever earned in their lives.

I still think colleges and unviersities are elitist institutions, and the world would be a better place if the information they curate was free (as in freedom) and if career paths weren't locked behind admittance and the high price of tuitions.

I have tried to start a discussion board on the dark web before partly because of the convenience of not having to set up a domain name with a registrar. It was something I used with my friends and friends of friends to discuss video games and anime. It very quickly attracted the attention of dark web spammers that offer services for fake vaccine passports, forged documents, stolen credit cards, and so on.

We did not represent an ideology, a movement, or talk about politics much beyond current events, but if you are not careful and vigilant you can quickly become associated with illegal operations.

I think there is little point in Lemmy and a Fediverse-compatible message board.

A user that posts on the internet is inevitably going to make alternate accounts so their internet activity isn't consolidated to one post history. There is actually little demand to post on discussion board with a Fediverse account. The fediverse doesn't boost userbases or drive views like a platform conventionally does because everything is subject to complicated instance-federation rules. The whole thing is comprised of tiny puddles pretending to be big oceans (i.e that user registration beg form).

Phobias are anxiety disorders or irrational fears e.g arachnophobia. The word transphobia is meant to portray dissenting opinion as irrational. In just one word the sentence can mean, "The opinion exists because the one who holds it is just irrational". I think they use the word because how much it can mean by itself.

I've been using "quarantine time" to recover my eyesight (aiming to get 20/20 back). I've gone from being:

unable to read the screen at all without contacts or glasses
able to read the screen without glasses, but with big font and zoom
able to read the screen without glasses, with normal font and less zoom.

Currently, I'm reading The Relative Theory of Money and trying out the (crypto)currency based on it. As usual, I'm playing video games (generally, the ones that are color coded enough to play with blurry vision).

If you are looking for free speech on the clearnet, consider a different format of websites. Neocities states itself as a pro-free speech platform. It is both connective, communicative, and self-expressive to much greater extents than forums and social media. But as its format is not discussion, the tactics of taking down discussion boards like 4chan, 8chan, or Kiwifarms does not apply as well if at all to begin with.
