Bans and Kicks - Unjustified or not?

At first, I wasn't sure if this was discussion worthy, but the recent events just happening within the month is extremely unusual.

1/ I get banned for political reasons by MrBougo (2 weeks) and divVerent (permanently). https://xonotic.devfull.de/xonvote:27500/poll/406?

Their stated reason is trolling and spamming. Both of which is demonstrably false. The discussion was reciprocated; however, they have no objective definition of trolling or spamming, so "trolling" and "spamming" may as well mean "I don't like it."

My "spam" that earned me a permaban is linking once to American women's protest in Washington DC.

2/ The developers, Mario and Mirio, leave the project. Mario starts a kick vote against martin-t (another developer). Because the vote ended in a tie, as the development team wanted more time to decide, Mario leaves the project. https://forums.xonotic.org/showthread.php?tid=8522

In the same thread, Mirio announces his departure from the project, but no reason is given.

3/ Because martin-t has caused Mario to leave, martin-t is then kicked from the development team. After Mario left, the no- or abstain-votes switch to yes. https://xonotic.devfull.de/xonvote:27500/poll/407?

4/ (Yesterday) the Xonotic team banned Jeff (admin of Jeff Vehicles, Jeff and Julius Resurrection server, and sponsor for the new weapon models). This also caused julius-, a mapper, to leave.

Is it all a case of a bird plucking its own feathers, or did Team Xonotic find some external incentive to remove certain people from the community?

Damn... I stopped visiting the Xonotic forums for a while, and shit starts hitting the fan. I need to start playing Xonotic again. :P

Anyways, devs can kick one another in that XonVote poll thing? That sounds crazy.

Xonotic is a free and open-source first-person shooter video game. It was developed as a fork of Nexuiz, following controversy surrounding the game's development. The game runs on a heavily modified version of the Quake engine known as the DarkPlaces engine.

In case anyone else is wondering wtf.
