Honestly, I think that the law doesn't even work and the TRA's shouldn't even have to give their deadname, on the grounds that there have been cisgendered candidates who ran under their new name and were completely allowed to run without using their birth name. When he won in Minnesota, James Janos was not required to run under his birth name, he could run for governor using his professional name of Jesse Ventura and no one questioned it. If a cisgendered actor/pro wrestler is allowed to use his name he uses professionally instead of his birth name when in the political field, a trans person can use their new name too.

Hell, if the people who'd go to Fox News for news think "...but it's hurting trans people so it's a good thing", this won't end well for them- IIRC, "Donald Trump" is not his birth name and by this law, it'd take him off the Ohio ballot as a result.

For all of humanity, you have to love SOMETHING. Whether it's the most social butterfly in the world or the biggest ace person in the world, you have to have some thing that you feel love for to make your world a little brighter. If you can't get that date, get a pet. Can't have a pet, keep a houseplant. Can't even keep a houseplant, throw yourself into work, religion, hobbies...and yes, you can't even do any hobbies, throw yourself into a fandom- and waifuism is just an example of throwing yourself headfirst into a fandom. Of course, but being fair, with how low commercial airlines pay their pilots, you're going to get substandard pilots anyway because any pilot who is actually skilled will have options besides going to work for minimum wage or less for a commercial airline. Exactly, but ultimately that ties to the whole scandal as a whole- whether you use the incel viewpoint of "Quinn traded sex for good reviews for her game", or the more reasonable viewpoint you're saying of "Quinn had some game reviewer friends of hers review her game (and presumably give her good reviews because they're her friends)" - either way that is still a big conflict of interest and in any other form of journalism, the reviewer would absolutely have to disclose their personal relationship with someone if there is one in the review or before the review happened [and in many cases, the reviewer would be taken off reviewing the product if they have a personal connection to it.]

The only difference that makes Gamergate more important is- if it was as simple as realizing that, then it would have been a short issue, and it'd be forgotten about by now if it was just left as that. It was solely the same reviewers spinning it as "okay, got it, you hate women."- and it working- that led to the whole thing bombing.

This doesn't even hide the problem that incel logic was there as well, since the casting couch is a thing in all forms of entertainment. A person (and the person can be male or female here) trading their body to get ahead in their form of entertainment- be it featured acting roles, be it for a record deal or for airplays, be it for a patron for their artwork, what have you, is as old as there's been entertainment. If Quinn really did this, then the only difference is she'd be the first to do it to get a push in video games.

Honestly, I'd go the exact opposite way of it being dress rehearsal- Gamergate successfully having the media turn "hey, wait a minute, there's a very big conflict of interest in the coverage of this video game and we feel it's only fair that this conflict of interest get reported!" got spun by the media the people were fighting against as "...so, you hate women. ...I mean, the one positive to that is that it will never get to a full Chinese social revolution because every single, specific queer person, specifically, to the person won't consider the group in charge unless they, personally, are the one who ends up in full power- meaning that the whole group ends up in a form of stasis because no one will ever kickstart the genocide/social revolution until they've gotten complete control over the group and the world, and every other person in the group will keep fighting that from happening because THEY want to be the person in power and won't let anyone else get their way because of it.

Well, ultimately that ties to the biggest issue in these cases, since this will still lose for the person who truly made an honest attempt to be respectful, because HR workers will always defer to what's best for themselves over what's right or best for the company...and ultimately, ruling in favor of the special sparklywoo person is best for the HR director:

Sparklypoo is more likely to file a lawsuit against the company if you don't give them their way than the person who made an honest attempt did.

WHEN (not if) they file a lawsuit, the people in power at the company will invariably just say "cut the freak a check and fire whoever made them momentarily sad before their whining affects our stock prices and we lose money", and honest attempt, their boss, and anyone else who stood in their way's head will roll.

The HR person will know this and give Sparklypoo their way simply because that way they "probably" (a forlorn hope, Sparklypoo will name anyone who doesn't bow down to them, and while their head is down there suck their ladydick as well) won't be mentioned in the lawsuit and they likely keep their job personally.
