there's some crimes a minor can do which require imprisonment for longer than just "they turned 18, all is forgiven!" Kids can and do murder- shit, a kid who was a family friend turned out to be one of the most notorious serial killers in my state's history, so I know full well kids can commit atrocities that can never be forgiven.

Sure, the differences still remain and will be judged individually by law. Because that's how it should be. Typically, children don't know right and wrong. That's why it is important to judge them differently from close-to-adults and adults.

Just because someone's a kid doesn't mean they're ready for society just because of an arbitrary day on the calendar. And for some crimes, they NEVER will be. To not accept that makes you a monster. I don't care what else you do in life, you're a monster. You could run an orphanage for bunnies and you're just making the bunnies monsters.

Again, thank God you're not in charge. People who adovcate to kill children aren't seen as heroes. Especially in prisons, if you commit it yourself.

Yeah, you're the one advocating that if a kid commits a school shooting when he's 17 years, 364 days old, then the next day he's forgiven and given a great big hug and some frosty chocolate milkshakes because he turned 18 so all is forgiven! You are such a monster it's the same as if you commit school shootings yourself.

Think it's overreacting? It's not. A lot of kids do know right from wrong enough to know when they commit an atrocity, they know what they did is monstrous. And if they really AREN'T aware of right from wrong to believe murder/rape is wrong by the time most kids do these things, then they might be so mentally disturbed they need to be institutionalized for their own safety (PROTIP: Insanity convictions might be even worse than prison sentences.)

Be logical for once, hun. You keep projecting your thoughts onto me. A 17 year old will remain imprisoned. Even after they turn 18, and they would be registered as a sex offender.

But if you imprison them when they're 18, you're punishing a minor! Exactly what you vilify me for! Your own rule means that if they perform a crime at 11:59 before their 18th birthday, you have to give them a big hug and forgive them because, well, upon the second you turn 18 you obviously become fully enlightened to right and wrong.

Sure, I will on a popular platform, in public, on national TV, shout it from a mountaintop that a minor who commits an atrocity great enough to be tried as an adult may need capital punishment if it's brutal enough. Now, you do the same thing for saying that a mass shooter who's 17 years, 364 days old needs to be given a big hug, full forgiveness, and to be taken out for frosty chocolate milkshakes the next day like you say. Honey, telling people that minors deserve to get killed won't get you far. My solution, outside your wilful misinterpreting (since that's the only way you can get far with your schizo comments), minors get imprisoned. Lifetime. Since that typically what judges do anyways. Majority of people are fine with that.

But those minors instantly learn their lesson the second they turn 18, so you're punishing them for something they've been absolved of by becoming an adult! You are literally worse than Hitler by your own argument; literally, this statement is worse than the Holocaust!
