I'm waiting for someone to successfully monetize black people killing each other. Once someone figures out a source of income to be tapped from this--because the killers damned sure won't have anything worth taking--I expect it'll be a payday bigger than any wrongful death lawsuits against the cops and the city/county that employs them.

I think the last time I saw an Advil they only made the pills white.

Lol this is like when companies suddenly decided that emojis were racist because black people were "forced" to use a thumbs up with yellow Simpsons character skin. They added all the different skin color emojis. Now I'm looking in my android phone options and it's all back to yellow.

    Just a couple things. There was data in the past that doctors in the US tended to subconsciously think black people could handle pain better than whites. Idk if that bias still exists or if it was more a holdover of Jim crow era thinking. It's like that boomer "positive racism" mentality like "Asians are good at math" etc. Problem is now that sort of racism is rapidly fading but the SJW mentality is to pretend it's worse than ever.

    The other thing this reminds me of is COVID. When COVID first popped off I was driving and listening to NPR. They had a guest come on and started going through data about outcomes. They explicitly said black people were hit harder by COVID than other racial groups. They made it sound race based but the evidence they cited sounded like the implications were socioeconomic not racial. I really wanted to call in and ask to clarify if they meant it was similar sickle cell or if it was poverty based but I was on the freeway and couldn't figure out how to get the number in time before the segment ended.

    Then last year RFK Jr mentioned some recent studies about how the disease had worse binding to receptors in certain racial groups. This spawned a long media cycle calling him antisemitic because apparently the studies cited Han Chinese, ashkanazi Jews, and i think some kind of Amish as examples where the virus had poor binding. Black and white populations were more susceptible in general. Of course the media takes this as "RFK claims COVID is Jewish plot to kill black people"... That is it's own idiocy but the studies were still real and it reminded me of that old NPR story. In their eyes, the Jews and Amish would be considered in with the "white" category and hey that whole thing might have been real and just presented really poorly.

    The whole point with my long winded response is that often times there are real scientific issues at play but the media is SO BAD at presenting it. Most of them either have a political motive or are just dumb asses with poly sci degrees and don't actually understand the things they are reporting on.

    Many black-skinned people in northern hemisphere countries have low levels of Vitamin D, which is essential for good immunity. White-skinned people too, but blacks even more so.

    Vitamin D (plus zinc) seems to help treat Covid infection, especially for blacks, and may help as a prophylactic:

    I wouldn't say the association is absolutely proven, but I'd say on the balance of evidence Vit D helps treat Covid.

    In the opening weeks of the Covid pandemic, American doctors started talking about how black people where at much higher risk, and white, anti-racist wokies showed their true colours (pun intended) by screaming about how saying blacks were at higher risk was racist and everyone needed to make Covid about them (the whites).

    Yeah I started taking a vitamin d supplement when COVID started because the early studies were saying that. My boss suggested it could just be related to people who go outside but we then both agreed that it doesn't hurt to take the vitamin d and i personally never got COVID until the omicron remix dropped at the exact same time they decided to bring everyone back to work.

    Hey, a long-winded response is fine if has actual information in it :D. But regarding the quoted bit above, science has been whored out--or just flat intentionally distorted--for this cause or that one entirely too often in recent years. Between that and the incessant outrage farming and race grifting going on, is it all that surprising that I'd immediately assume the very worst about something like the posted content?

    I don't see a problem with this in principle. There are biological differences in how pain is perceived, for example redheads are more sensitive to pain than others. And there are also social differences in how doctors treat pain. In America, there is a widespread social perception that black people don't feel pain as strongly as white folks, and that "white trash" and blacks of all social classes are more likely to abuse pain killers.

    On the other hand, we all know the real reason for this. Advil wants to sell more of its product, whether people need it or not.

    And do note that it's only black people being considered here. Because this highly specific form of racism not only exists, but is aimed exclusively at black people. But, at the same time, this pervasive and (apparently) long-running flavor of racism has only recently come to light.

    Have to admire whatever grifter(s) hit upon this as their next con, truly a creative means of sucking money and support out of the tools and fools.
