The mainstream pushback on gender ideology is going to be messy. This was by design, I think.

But that's also the bigger question: Who's side designed it- the media wanting the mainstream to push back hard to get hardliners into office, or the gender ideologists who wanted the mainstream to push back because they all just want to be Harry Potter fighting the Nazis and especially those people in the middle who are Thanos killing half the babies, and they can't be the hero unless they have a steady stream of villains?

The fault lies with gender ideologues for intentionally conflating homosexuality with gender woo. From the beginning they would brand anyone skeptical of gender ID as "homophobic", and this was a common tactic used to purge the gender clinics of the more cautious and skeptical doctors.

And that probably started after billionaires like the Pritzkers pumped huge sums of money into all the queer/gender studies departments of prestigious universities across the west, producing a generation of extremists across the field.

Which ties to what I said, since by and large, conflating homosexuality with gender woo was allowed to take because gay marriage passed, which was widely accepted by most in gay rights as the tipping point for "okay. You won. You're equal to straight people. You have your equality and can live happily ever after", only they won't be in the history books, they won't have high schools named after them and statues made of that wokester. There were other people who got equality and not that wokester personally, and that makes them SICK.

So, they changed plans to something lower to keep the fight for equality going until they can jockey into a position on top of the purity spiral, so THEY get to be the hero.

The conflation of homosexuality with gender ideology gained traction in the wake of the legalization of same-sex marriage. Many in the LGBTQ+ community saw this as a watershed moment, a tipping point that signaled their long-fought battle for equality had finally been won. They believed that they had achieved parity with heterosexual individuals, gaining the same rights and privileges, and were now free to live their lives openly and authentically. However, this sense of victory and acceptance was short-lived for some within the LGBTQ+ community. They felt that their struggle for equality had been co-opted by a vocal minority of activists who sought to push a broader agenda centered on gender ideology. This faction, often referred to as "woke" or "intersectional," argued that the fight for LGBTQ+ rights was inextricably linked to the fight for gender equality and the dismantling of traditional gender norms. This conflation of issues created a sense of disillusionment and resentment among some LGBTQ+ individuals, who felt that their own struggle for acceptance and equality was being overshadowed by a broader ideological agenda. They believed that the focus on gender ideology was diluting the message of LGBTQ+ rights and alienating potential allies. Furthermore, they worried that the emphasis on gender ideology was creating a hierarchy within the LGBTQ+ community, with those who embraced the intersectional approach being seen as more progressive and enlightened than those who did not. This purity spiral, as it is sometimes called, created divisions and fostered a sense of otherness among those who did not conform to the prevailing orthodoxy. The consequences of this conflation have been far-reaching. The LGBTQ+ community, once united in its pursuit of equality, has become fractured along ideological lines. Allies who may have been sympathetic to the cause of LGBTQ+ rights have been alienated by the perception that the movement is now focused on issues that are too radical or divisive. The result is a fragmented and weakened LGBTQ+ community that is less able to advocate effectively for its members. The fight for equality has been sidelined by internal divisions, and the hard-won gains of the past are at risk of being eroded. It is important to recognize the validity of the concerns raised by those who feel that the LGBTQ+ movement has been co-opted by a vocal minority. Their voices deserve to be heard and their perspectives respected. Only through open and honest dialogue can the LGBTQ+ community heal its divisions and move forward united.
