I’ve always found her feminism to be bland and have no intellectualism to it

Just like her acting then, huh? (Sorry, that was a bit mean perhaps... but doesn't make it untrue.)
(ツ)_/¯

I really can't believe she and Daniel TRAdcliffe (amongst many...) turned out to be such nonintellectuals. Zero original thought, just repeating TWAW! TWAW! like dyslexic crows and never bothering to consider what it actually means in real life for real women. Blergh.

These are the moments I wish I could "cancel" all of these muppets - but as I am vehemently against the idiotic cancel culture as well, I shall just keep prodding my DIY voodoo dolls of them, and hope that I don't accidentally give them an acupuncture session instead.

Edit: Tried to make my "shrugging emoji" work... Couldn't manage so I just made it do a sassy one-hand movement.

Then they’ll have to deal with a man instead of a ~hysterically weird woman who is not afraid to speak her (oops! his) mind~.

Yep, just head over to the lovely hub of teenage "feminists" (teenage by age or ability to think...) called Buzzfeed and you will see a shit ton of articles and comments e.g. defending the song WAP, shaming vanilla people who are not into kinks (funny how THAT'S okay for them but "kinkshaming" makes them ~literally~ suffer), being super sex positive (read: how to have kinks and how it's the only way for a woman to be sexual) and so on and so on.

I mean, spare yourself: don't be tempted to know which kind of bread you'd be, even in your darkest, most boring-est hour. I did that and found out I was a bagel and I don't even like bagels that much :(

That place is so full of TRA propaganda they should just change their name to ButtFeet, because at least that way they'd acknowledge the praised KINKS we're all supposed to love, ya know.

Ohh I can relate! Not a lesbian (probably bi but that's not the talk, lol) but trust me... having guys trying to find your clitoris is like having a blind man with no hands trying to knead a fucking bread dough. Like DUDE. STOP ELBOWING MY BELLY BUTTON. Heh, well that was just a mild exaggeration - a lot of times guys tended to find the ever-elusive clit and then literally SLAP it! Some porn lessons had been learned there, for sure. Oh, I wish I could say sorry to my clit. Poor thing. <3

Funny thing is - also telling men "wait, not there, slower, not like that, do it like this" tends to get them either super intimidated and/or put off. Like I am now questioning their entire Manhood™ because I pointed out they were (figuratively...) sucking balls at what they were doing. Jesus, I can only imagine how they'd react if I had just aggressively shoved their foreskin off the tip (I am European! Having one is the norm here!) and then start literally punching the tip of their dick...

Like you know, hirvi, porkkana, kauris, peruna, so on. Then we saw some video of deers and he gleefully tells me he knows the name. And just says "LOOK, it's a nauris." (And I thought I heard him wrong. Kauris and nauris are too close phonetically.) He repeated "nauris" and I almost died of laughter because well. I have taken Buzzfeed quizzes that have less false dichotomies than this BS. Most of the questions are fully loaded with very suspicious pre-assumptions. Nobody with half a brain cell would be able to take this survey and give honest answers, as one can easily agree with ONE part of a question (such as the "God created only two sexes) and wholly disagree with ANOTHER part of it. So the answer you'd get would be inaccurate one way or the other, for most GC's at least.

Sounds like pathetic TRA baiting to me, in order to finally (... and falsely) prove that GC feminists are nothing but hateful, fundamentally religious, violent bigots who want to murder all transpeople. What a load of crap! Go troll somewhere else, OP.

I just recently read an article from my home country that spoke about "pussy shame" and I was utterly horrified. It was about women who felt terrible about their outer genitals (labia) and some of them had gone to do some ~corrective surgeries~. I had no idea this had become such a big thing. For it to reach a teensy weensy (albeit super Western and in some cases, disgustingly Americanized) country means it actually is a thing. It's spreading allover. Much like that TERRIBLE sandwich!11!! * add some good Christian outrage here *

We're reaching new levels of low. And I also know where I shall be pointing my finger at. It's not just the usual suspects - the right wing religious bigots and conservative misogynists. Instead, I would like to give a STANDING OVATION TO ALL THE LIBFEMS who went to universities and came from steady backgrounds and ate up this post-modernist bullshit hook, line and sinker: and then started spreading the Kool-Aid around the entire world, like it was their own special Jonestown. Thank you for your efforts, Rebecca Solnit et al. Really, wow, you just took the cake and threw it in the dumpster and then shat on it, and now you want US to eat that shit? I think not.

Any and every action committed by a woman is feminism by libsters. That's it. Easy-peasy, no-brain-eezy. So the original poster of that ham sandwich is DEFO a feminist and performs a feminist act by libfem standards (of nothing...) right?! And if she doesn't, then why is that bollocks unacceptable and woman-hating, but the WAP video is crazy cool? And oooh don't we just adore our Kardashians, Cardi B's, Nicky Minaj's and whofucking-evers allover Instagram that literally make themselves look like live-action sex dolls - and libfems just see this and think YAS KWEEN it's so liberating like OMG gonna make a TikTok about my nails now.

Fucking hell.

And then we have a massive group of fetishist dudes who put on make up, ending up looking like my dog shat some crayons on their faces, and TOODILY FUCKING DOO they are WIMIN now. What is this place we live in?!

I'm so done. Doneso. Donesies. Let's take over NASA and go have a splendid life on Mars. Or just drift into space endlessly, don't care. I am so very done with the human species.

I've been rocking every kind of short hairstyle from buzzcut to bob to some weirdass early 2000-ish BS (those super "edgy" haircuts, lol), and I never once felt like an ounce of my wOmaNhOOd was taken away. Also didn't feel like a dUdeBoi. According to these dimwits I'm probably a lesbian, trans rainbow homosexual queer pancake, drizzled with some nonbinary syrup. It's anybody's guess!

How many times do we have to repeat to these poor people: dress as you like, cut your hair as you like, have whatever hobbies you like, wear make up or don't - nobody fucking cares BUT YOU. And also: you are not so fucking special. You just happen to like videogames AND painting your nails. G R O U N D B R E A K I N G ! E A R TH S H A T T E R I N G ! Nobody has ever done this before!

To these "NB people": do us all a favour and stop doing the absolutely mind-bending Buzzfeed-talk about "smashing the patriarchy!" and a at the same time thinking that being a woman is strictly the image of some 50's American housewife. YOU are the sexist idiots. Not the rest of us. Calling yourself "nonbinary" is today's way of trying to say "I am super interesting." Hint: you're fucking not. You're just as normal, regular, boring and uninteresting as the rest of us. Now live with it and stop trying to sound so annoying all the time.

[–]vitunrotta 25 insightful - 4 fun25 insightful - 3 fun26 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Off topic but oh damn. I think I am SUPER lucky because my native language is extremely genderless (not completely devoid of gender, but still). For example, there isn't really a separate word for sex and gender - our word for gender merely has another added word to the word "sex", which would loosely translate to "sex role." (Sorry if that sounds weird, but my language IS weird, heheh).

We also do not have gendered pronouns! Everyone is the same, always. Just one word for any third person, that's it.

Oh and, of course no specific gender-identified words. We don't have a or the, and more importantly la and le, or um and uma... there are just words. My god, I love my language, because even thinking of someone adding the (Finnish) word of gender in any form would be nothing but laughable.

Nothing is lost. It's a defeat but the fight is not lost, damn it! Now the real fight BEGINS. Do not lose heart. Do not lose faith.

I hope people start to get together and really try their best to do the "lobbying" (ugh, hate the word and the concept but in this case I will let it fly...) with their representatives, or however you call them in the U.S. Starting from the grass root level as a bigger movement should work way better than getting one single person in the house/senate, for example. It has to be a mass of people - not just one. I must admit the U.S. voting system is absolute bonkers to many outsiders - myself included - so if I misinterpreted some very crucial points, please let me know.

Heads high! Keep fighting!

Good for you, too. :) I am pretty much the same height also, so here's a "high" (distanced) five for shorties! And yes... They go for the one that looks the weakest to them. Always. I wanted to add a parable of this in my text - but then I thought: I'm not gonna compare animals to these simpletons! The top of the food chain indeed, if we talked about the line-up to McDonald's...

But like you said, just that fact alone made you become fiercer. I also shout back nowadays if some bonehead thinks it's alright to tell me how I look. And I have some ~vocabulary~, baby. Once I walked by two dudes and while they didn't really shout at me I heard what they were saying. Pretty nasty stuff. I walked backed and burped on their faces. (I know how to fake burp the entire alphabet, thank you big brothers!) That shut them up at least. Small victories...!

First of all - thank you! It has been kind of a Mad Max: FURIOSA Road, and yet I am content I reached this moment, though it took some time.

The Karen meme has been extremely conflicting to me. I know there are loads of people in the U.S. who are massive, gaping, racist assholes, as we've seen - but I am yet to see a single video of a MAN doing the same. It's always the KAREN. KAREN is horrible, terrible, not good, very bad.

Let's be real here though - the "Karens" in these videos are belligerent racists. But hum? It's suddenly only women (who are also a tad older) that are racist cretins? I think not. But you know - we're women. So even systemic racism in the U.S. can be pinpointed on one singular group of people: Soccer Moms™. People with vaginas. Persons with ovaries. Humans with menopause. Name it.

My question is: where the hell is mister "I have as big of a spine as I have a neckline" Mitch McConnell, for example? How come THIS absolute nincompoop, buttonhead, nitwit of a man gets a free pass in all of this? (Hint: it's between his legs. Even writing that made me shiver a bit, in all honesty. Ugh. I thought of his nether areas for a millisecond and nearly barfed.)

Oh wait, I know. It's because "women raised their sons to be Brett Kavanaughs and Brock Turners. Hurr durr." Well if that is the case, I BEG the question: where the hell was the father then? And if the father was not able to be there, what was the reason? Perhaps inequality when it comes to parental leave? Hm? Expensive, inaccessible daycares? Or maybe - just maybe - the entire invention of the almighty internet created imbeciles such as Turner. I digress, I am on a rant mode. Very little coherence here.

(Please note, these "questions" are hypothetical only, because we all know who are to blame for all of these things. WIMIN. I am also probably blamed for not "raising this generation right" even though I do not have any children.)

While your post (and the quoted post) is true I honestly don't get why one wouldn't open a door to a guy with crutches? That's a bit too far IMHO. I'm imagining a normal situation somewhere in public, not some Ted Bundy shit.

Why would you not open the door? I totally get the OP's other points in supporting women, and I also do not think that not opening the door is somehow "violence against men" etc., but it just rings a bit odd to me. If I see someone struggling to do something - trying to reach an item in a grocery store, trying to open the door with crutches or whatever - I don't care about their sex, age, weight, skin color or any other completely irrelevant thing. I'd just help and go on to live my life.

Hey - great points. Thanks for replying again! :) LOVE talking to another female gamer! (Even though I suppose I am now a retired veteran...)

I did read they had about 2000 people working on the game, but of course it would fail in some aspects. That was a given.

One thing I actually weirdly liked was that it was a woman-on-woman vengeance mission. I am in the works of writing a feminist piece about the game - why they used only females in the main parts, for example, and was that choice bad? Would it have worked worse/better if the protagonist and antagonist would have been men? Why/why not etc. (I personally have been waiting so hard for a John Wick -type revenge story where women just go HAM at each other, and men are mere bystanders, as was the case in TLOU2, so I suppose I am very biased... Also I do not enjoy the Tarantino-type-silly-slashers-with-no-personality stories so yeah. Call me weird!)

I can certainly understand and appreciate your point of view, though. I do hope you don't take me wrong. I personally felt like I got to finally be a part of a story I had waited for SO long: where women are not just some silly, big-boobed, oh so naughty but innocent, pretty, non-personality babes that only exist as extras to fill in for the main story. I also have some massive issues with aggression and temper and mental illness etc. etc. myself so it felt cathartic to watch this thing unfold at times. I must underline at times because mostly it was truly very upsetting.

AAANNYWAYYY... Sorry for my rambles. :) Instead they put WOMEN in these super violent roles. I honestly loved it. The killing of a pregnant woman was HORRIFYING and it was supposed to be that, in my opinion. I cried at that scene. (I couldn't even watch the scenes where they kill the dogs...) Ellie comes back from that "mission" and she is literally broken. Just... a broken person. The writers/creators of the game certainly took some bold and very troubling liberties and some decisions seemed quite harsh and off but then again: it was never supposed to be a game like the first TLOU. This one was meant to make you feel angry, enraged, disgusted, horrified, annoyed, scared - to the point where you as a player almost get a fucking PTSD. (Sorry if that sounds insensitive, but it was a HARSH game ffs).

What I would like to get into further is the thing I mentioned above - the decision of making ALL of the main characters women. The director/creator said (well before the release) that this game was not going to please a lot of people. And sure enough, it didn't. You are the ONLY person so far that has given an actual, logical, realistic reason why it did not resonate - all the others were "wHy diD yOu KiLL joEL hnnggg" and they HATED Abby etc. and never understood the actual lesson of the story... which is actually quoted in the game.

If I may - in the actual words of Confucius: "Seek revenge and you should dig two graves, one for yourself."

(Plus the song - "if I ever were to lose you... I'd surely lose myself..."

I could talk about this game for HOURS so I will leave at this for now, but please feel free to give more of your insights. I have mainly only heard from guys until now. And guys tend to not have discussions - they just have AN OPINION and that's that. So I'm very happy to share things here with you, stranger lady! :)

My own note - I honestly learned about the anatomical details of this very important part of my OWN body just a few years ago, and I'm gonna be 40 soon. Seriously! The hell?! And here we are actually listening to neckbeards and fetishists and allowing them to take ownership of biological women's bodies that are STILL NOT FULLY UNDERSTOOD. Unacceptable.

I was reminded of this as I read that Teen Vogue article about anal. So we teach young women to have it in the butt - and we still don't show them a proper picture of the clit? For fuck's sake. Today I am TERFing aggressively.

Edit: I DID of course know of the clitoris (hallelujah!) - just not how it really looked like in all its beauty, so I clarified that :)
