JK is what happens when cancel culture meets someone they have zero hope of canceling. The meltdown they are having over her is awesome to watch. Fanfiction sites are "distancing themselves" from her b/c she's "problematic" ? She should sue them into the ground for copyright infringement and shut them down.

...She SHOULD shut them down, and then run away into her massive mansion whilst cackling terfily - with the money these pseudofeminist "cancellists" already spent on her books.

And then she should (and maybe will...) presume to use that money to undo some of the harm these pseudofeminists have done to a lot of lost, helpless teenagers (and others).

EDIT: Wording

I found I truly bonkers fanfic the other day based on the Strike series. It essentially boiled down to Robin is a TERF and Strike explains to her (I think he actually shouts)why she's wrong and terrible.

I've just refound it.

R: "isn’t saying that sex isn’t real naive?"

"Strike was truly flabbergasted. Never, not once, had he encountered anything in Robin that he would have called ugly or wrongheaded to the detriment of society. But here they were."

" Is it so hard to believe that someone born with a penis could really be a woman in their mind, heart, and soul? Isn’t it possible that sexuality and gender are along a continuum and not binary?” He was no longer able to keep his voice low, beyond caring if he was upsetting Robin, who was looking defensive and angry. “There are plenty of people born with a penis AND a vagina for fuck’s sake."

"He perceived hurt and anger in Robin’s eyes and he relished it."

"Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to look you in the eye and see the woman I respect so much, but right now, I can’t even stand to look at you anymore. "

My favourite comment is from someone who apparently hates Strike and yet reads the fanfics?

Did... Did Daniel Radcliffe write that?!

🤣 It's so weird to me they'd write Strike as the trans activist, ~disappointingly edumacating Robin~, instead of the other way around.

Apparently it was because they were a bloke and so identified more with Strike? To which I call absolute fucking bullshit as how many dudes write porny Strike fanfics. Given they mentioned their wife I'd put money on them being a TiF.

I may write my own rebuttal.

"He'd never sucked cock before. But this was girl cock so he should like it. Hedid like it. He was just adjusting. That's right adjusting... not that there was actually anything to adjust to as girls had cocks all the time. It was perfectly normal, that he a straight man, would want to suck a straight woman's cock. It was what straight non bigoted people did. Really it was amazing that he hadn't sucked more girl dick... not that he had been avoiding it, it had just been all relationshipped up. With Charlotte, who happened to have a vagina, although all women have them.

He tried to ignore the wonder of when it would all be over. After all, he was enjoying it, he could do it all day. They were probably right about the mouth feel, he'd never sucked his own obviously but it was probably different. Definitely different. After all, Ephlemina had been on hormones for three months and had been a women for all of her 45years. Women could have chest hair... and, god they were dangly testicles. But, no, he loved girl testicles, he wasn't a bigot not like that hateful Robin."

which fanfic site is distancing from her?

Jennifer Finney Boylan is a hypocritical coward. After signing a free speech, anti-cancel culture declaration, instead of saying she agrees to disagree, she's really going to say b-b-but not her, I didn't know Rowling was going to sign that too. And she's a professor at Barnard? Educating the next generation of handmaidens.

Boylan signed on not for the contents of the letter, but for elite brownie points. In the end, they chose the social brownie points over their alleged convictions.

[–][deleted] 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, she said on twitter she only knew she was signing some vague declaration with a few known signees.

No kidding, the fucking irony! lmao. Retweets a letter against internet shaming then backtracks because I guess Rowling doesn't count? At least not for Jennifer's own fear of internet shaming.

And like... they're coming for you anyway. She forgets that the core tenant of internet shaming is constant harassment and no apology EVER being good enough. Your best bet when caught out is to gently affirm ''I signed that letter/said that, yes'' and move on. Any sign of taking it back or apologizing and you'll never hear the end of it.

I think Boylan blocked/turned off comments on that post. Perhaps afraid of the backlash?

She's been on absolute fucking fire lately, haha. She's gone full, "I'm already cancelled, fuck this shit" and I love it <3

There's no way to attach an image right? I put the Tweet link in the title.

ETA: Can I also just say that I want to give a huge hand to Emerson Spartz for his relentless support? He's been defending her like a warrior. Damn HE should've played HP, not that deluded little twit Daniel Radcliff.

This is poetry and also classy AF. She’s pointing out how weak-willed an pathetic these so called leading minds and activists are. What kind of pathetic thought leader crowdsources their moral compass?

Those people are so weird, and their logic is weird. "Person I hate likes eating tomatoes, so from now on I will not eat tomatoes anymore, and people go hate all tomato eaters". I wonder what will Jennifer do when she start realizing that JKR is breathing same air as her...
