This is why a lot of feminists I've connected to on Instagram will send voice memos back and forth, one extra step to be sure we are talking to other women. Are you on Ovarit? I know it isn't completely private, but it is still almost exclusively women and invite-only.

I feel this so hard. I'm not an artist but I did take a lot of art history in college and it's one of my big interests. I've run into the same issues - pronouns everywhere and it only takes a minute of scrolling to find some TWAW bullshit. It sucks.

Do you follow anyone on ig? Jess De Wahls is gender critical and promotes other artists (usually ones who've been affected by cancel culture and believing in biology) so I've found more to follow through her. What kind of art are you interested in? I can send you some ig profiles if you'd like.

Roberta Calindrez played a lesbian (Tako) in season 1 of Girls on HBO and then also in The Deuce (Irene). It seems like she gets typecast for those roles, definitely masc-leaning but still conventionally attractive. I looked her up and she identifies as queer 😞

What did you do today to Peak Trans another person? by BEB in GenderCritical

[–]Climblikeabee 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I've been sharing news on my insta stories pertaining to women, without bringing up gender ideology. Today was about Posie Parker's arrest. Whenever anyone responds to my stories, I get into a conversation with them privately where I can share information and concerns more freely.

My sister was talking about how much she loves HP this week, then said "fuck jk rowling though."

The exchange that followed:

"That entire thing was blown out of proportion. People shouldn't be demonizing a woman who has done enormous good for women and children."

"Wym? I thought it was quite obvious she is transphobic"

"What did she say that was transphobic? Did you read her essay?"

"No but I saw some tweets a while back and everyone has been blowing up on Twitter about it"

Then I sent that image of "proof JKR is transphobic" with the quotes from her essay

Her: "I have been lied to 😞"

I explained that trans women are not women, that women's spaces and rights are under attack, that I support people's right to live however they want but not at the detriment of women and girls, that sexual orientation is based on sex and how seeing the silencing of women, lesbian erasure and homophobic rhetoric from TRAs is how I fell down the rabbithole and learned about gender ideology and its harms.

I sent her some Magdalen Berns videos, the Blaire White video on JKR, and the State Media doc. She's part peaked just from our conversation and said she will watch them and wants to know more.

The "cotton ceiling" horrified her. She also said that she never considered that homosexuality is based on SEX, not gender. She has a "transbian" friend so I was most afraid to talk to her, but it went shockingly well. I told her I had been called a TERF and that it has no meaning anymore.

I found this approach to be the best so far out of all the conversations I've had. Part of why it worked so well was her opening the door to talk about it, so I think my ig stories will give me more of these opportunities.

Your post reads like a validation-seeking post and low-grade trolling. You could have had a seat and participated without bring trans into the conversation at all, since it is mostly irrelevant unless we are talking about female and lesbian erasure and the homophobic rhetoric we are being attacked with.

I think you'd feel right at home in /r/actuallesbians, where all that nonsense reigns supreme.

If you want ACTUAL lesbians, you found the right place, but I think you know this already.

I'm mostly on Ovarit which is still invite only, but I strongly recommend it for women to read content that is relevant to them.

Meme about lesbians not getting pregnant? "AcTuAlLy some lesbians have dicks"

Post about pussy? "AcTuAlLy some women have dicks"

Everything is a trigger. The obvious narcissism and mental illness, the anime pictures, the constant seeking of validation, the silencing of women. The objectification of women and how the "transbians" ALWAYS talk about women like straight men with male privilege and this insane entitlement to lesbians. The blatant fetishizing. Something wasn't right.

That's how I peaked, been about a year now and I'm even more disgusted and horrified every day.

Of course. Wish you all the luck. Please end this for your own happiness and wellbeing and don't allow them to gaslight/manipulate you.

We have to push back against these dynamics (trans "lesbians" pressuring lesbians specifically, into dating them, claiming transphobia etc). You aren't disgusting or transphobic for only being attracted to women (adult human females).

"Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm" comes to mind.

I have mixed feelings because lesbians SHOULD be able to say (to anyone) that dicks are disgusting to them, despite the gender ID of the person it belongs to. Sexuality/attraction is based on sex, and you aren't obligated to pretend otherwise.

However, since you asked for specific help on how to end things without bringing up sex, we can focus on other problems. An almost 30 year old unemployed mentally ill person is not fit to be in a relationship with you or anyone else. They need therapy and help and support that you can not/are not obligated to provide. There are so many red flags in your post but ultimately you are not happy, and it is unfair to both of you to continue in this relationship.

[–]Climblikeabee 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I actually relate to her so much in this situation, but I do use lesbian now because fuck what other people think about me and my past.

I wrote extensively on reddit about my experiences (before the banning), but the basic gist is I dated a few guys who pursued me who were all very sweet good friends of mine, and after a couple months of dating each of them I felt nauseous and disgusted by them and like I would rather die than spend another intimate moment with them. I already knew I was into women but I hadn't fallen for anyone and was still in denial. I have a daughter so my past dating life clearly includes at least one man. Using the label of lesbian means being questioned by everyone on the "validity" of how it applies to me. I do call myself a lesbian because I am one, even if I didn't embrace and fully understand it until my early 20s. I did care deeply about the men I dated, they were good people, and I broke a lot of hearts. Calling myself a lesbian feels like dismissing those relationships in my past as meaningless. They did mean something to me, even if it wasn't love or even anything even close to resembling attraction.

Kind of a rant haha but you know. She might not want to deal with any of that bullshit. She could also be bi but personally I followed the same thought process as you.

Layali Libnan, or "Lebanese Nights"

My Syrian friend's mother makes it in huge batches, it's like a luxury version of rice pudding (semolina-based). She makes it topped with pistachios, pine nuts and coconut, and a separate bottle of rosewater syrup to pour over it. I can't properly explain how good it is. She also makes incredible baklava.

Also love "Indian Pudding" which is a cornmeal/brown sugar/molasses custard served warm with vanilla ice cream, my great grandmother used to make it and it's something that reminds me of crisp New England days in the fall.

Joe Rogan was actually a perfect person for this because as you said, he had already brought up concerns in an area he has expertise in.

I was thinking the same thing. Despite how short it was, I'm overjoyed that it was mentioned at all. I'm hoping this is the first domino, you can tell in the second half (when they stop dancing around the elephant) that they both recognize how harmful the culture is. I think Joe Rogan having daughters means he has a dog in this fight in a way he wouldn't have otherwise.

She's already received backlash, but I'm sure it will be much worse now. Hopefully she doubles down and goes all in now, she name drops Dr. Blanchard and you can tell she is still holding back.

EDIT: do we know what site he was referring to when they talk about how TRAs mob spaces and claim "hate speech" to shut them down? They mention a detrans space that was attacked. I wonder if Rogan was actually talking about Reddit but didn't want to open that can of worms by calling them out.

I tell everyone to listen to Chromeo. Funk music, has a little something for everyone.

They had an old album with artwork where the keyboard legs were a woman's legs. During the Me Too movement they realized how objectifying it was, so they learned how to walk in heels, tanned/waxed, and used their own legs in all of the new artwork.
