Tinder has always worked way better for me than Her.

First of all the Her app sucks, it’s very glitchy. Second of all it seems to be me more about anything except lesbians/bisexuals.

I never thought I’d be doing this. I had a job I really liked and left it for a job that was a big upgrade moneywise, COVID hit and we had to look for a new job.

So I started my new job mid-COVID. I had 1,5 week of training, which wasn’t enough at all. I’m struggeling and overworked. I make mistakes and have nobody to help me cause I am the only one who ‘knows’ my tasks. Last week I had surgery and Co-workers still contacted me for work.

A Co-worker is in a burn-out so I’m doing his job rather than mine. I don’t have enough time to so things properly.

But I like the money and the stability this offers me.

My mom dying on Christmas a year ago was probably the worst thing.

Second place would go to my first relationship with a girl when I was 19 and she was 25. She was abusive as hell and it took me a while to get over this.

Luckily I’ve only dated lesbians. I’ve seen friends struggle with bicurious, heterosexual (who were more often than not in a relationship), ‘bisexual’ (but dating only men) girls and I’m glad I was never involved with that kind of women.

I think I would like someone smart, funny and kind. Who treats me as a girlfriend. A partner. An equal. Who doesn’t put me on a pedestal like I am some queen to dump me a year later after cheating on me.

Someone who takes relationships seriously and is able to be alone for a while. Who doesn’t use me like some blanket for their emotional problems.

And God may she be dominant in bed and good with a strap-on. It’s all I ask lord.

Questions

  1. What are your thoughts on terms like butch, stem/futch, and femme? 1a) Do you use these terms? (If so, how would you describe yourself?)

Not really but I don’t mind them. I would say femme in my case.

1b) Can other groups(such as the G,B, and T) use these terms?

G have their own terms I think? I don’t think a gay guy would consider himself ‘butch’, I’d find that a weird expression. For B, yes, and T, well difficult but yes as long as they identify as a woman who loves other women.

  1. Do you have a "gaydar" to where you can normally tell someone else is a lesbian?

Sometimes, however I’ve been wrong plenty of times too. 3. Are you a feminist? 3a) If yes, what type?[Ex radical feminist, intersectional, choice(?) feminist(idk wtf that is lol) ] 3b) If no, please explain your thoughts on feminism(or what ideology you follow if you do!)

Feminist as in radical man-hating? No. I believe in equal rights for women, I believe women are still treated badly in our society.

  1. What are some important issues that should be tackled/discussed in lesbian circles?

The amount of fake lesbians, The fact that Lesbian safespaces are being invaded.

  1. Do you feel as though you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ as the L? (Please explain)

Yes. I am a lesbian and so I feel part of them.

5a) As the L, do you feel supported by the other letters?

No, not in the slightest. The G are ok. B depends on the person. Is the girl in college who claims to be bi but never did anything with a woman part of the B? Every other letter just tries to oppress us or push their agenda on us. 5b) What is a good way to support the L?

Don’t push penis on us and I’m happy, also respect our safe spaces. 5c) Thoughts on "Leave out the L"?

Hahahahahah.

  1. How do you feel about the Trans Right Activist?

They are not part of the community. They are not allies, not even to real transpeople. They use their ‘gender’ as their whole personality. These people need to stay off Tumblr and get a hobby.

6a.) Thoughts on "transbians"?

\

  1. What type of discrimination do you deal with? (Online, real life, daily, etc)

Being sexualized by straight men and straight women.

  1. What are your thoughts on the following terms(and being called that or others calling themselves that): 'Queer', 'Dyke', 'Lesbo', 'Homosexual', "Gay", "Lesbian", "Same-sex attracted", and "TERF".

Terf lol. 9. What are your thoughts on the Lipstick lesbian & Labrys Flag?

No opinion. 10. What is one of the MOST annoying myth stereotypes about lesbians that you hate?

The ‘one is the man and one is the woman’ stereotype 10a) Is there a lesbian stereotype that you like or follow?(ex. Wearing plaid, short hair, etc)

My ex had short hair, I love soccer, relationships move fast.

Belgium.

I'm 24.

I came out a few times to my mother. At 16, 18 and 19. My mother's reaction was always, 'You aren't a lesbian , you have long hair', it didn't help that in my teens I went from complete tomboy with short hair to femme with long hair and make-up. When I got my first GF at 19 she understood.

However I do have an anecdote of me being 6 year's old and wanting to join a soccer team, and my mom didn't allow me because family member's had told her 'Watch out, she might become a lesbian if she joins'. This was in 2002.

My dad's family was okay with it, told them at 18. My sister and brother kind of always knew.

At first it was a bit akward, in every case, because even if they kind off 'saw it coming' or didn't mind, it was still a thing that you don't imagine in someone's future.

Short hair and homophobia by reluctant_commenter in Lesbians

[–]PasLagardere 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I still remember my mom's reaction to me coming out to her: 'You can't be a lesbian, you have long hair.' For a long time she also had the idea that lesbian relationships consisted of 1 woman having short hair (the man) and one with long hair (the woman).

Funny enough my whole childhood I was forced to have short hair by my parents. I had curls and they didn't and they really didn't understand how to handle curls so: cut it off. Ever since I'm 18 my hair has never been shorter than the middle of my back.

Homophobia from other women: I often hear the same remarks, gay men are 'fun and cute and always so kind', lesbians are seen as 'rough, dramatic, very 'manly' and 'ugly'.

Thank you for you comment, it makes a lot of sense actually.

Especially the part of a girl who never had been rejected. My first ex had always cheated on her gf's and then dumped them. I was 19 when I dated her and she was 26, so I was very very naïve. Anyway the girl she had dated right before me had cheated on her and had dumped her and our whole relationship she kept on talking about this girl, both being mean about me to her as being mean about her to me.

My GF is apologetic about everything, but I have this nagging feeling this is the end.

Anyone have advice for someone interested in a career that centers either lesbians or LGB individuals? by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]PasLagardere 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I worked for both the local LGBTI+ center in my city as my country's National Pride organization.

Will it be a low-paying job? Probably.

The harsh reality is that there are not a lot of LGB or lesbian focused organisations. That means that you will probably have to work for a queer or LGBTI+ organisation, because only LGB or lesbian is ''not inclusive enough'. This also means that you will be having LGBTI+ colleagues and from my own experience there are some great ones, but also some people who you'd rather never ever see in your life. I had a gay male co-worker who really was the biggest pain in the ass who seemed to think that life was one big giant episode of RuPaul's drag race.

What I'm saying is, prepare yourself. For the criticism of queer movements, for your collegues and for your own motivation.

I kind off hold grudges and compare situations.

My SO is very emotional and once got upset because I called her the same nickname I gave to my ex (yeah, I get it, but she was sad for two days) however when I discovered she was not so innocently talking to a girl she had a flirt with before, I was only 'allowed' to stay upset for a day. That pisses me of.
