Gentleman Jack is fantastic

I second this!

Gentlemen Jack is so well done. Also her sister is the same actress who played Yara Greyjoy in Game of Thrones.

It is and Yara is an added bonus! I love her character in the show too!

Wentworth, an Australian prison drama with a couple of lesbian and bisexual characters.

Orphan Black, a sci-fi thriller set in our contemporary world, over all an incredibly well done series that to me never had any real weak moments. One of the main characters is lesbian.

I should rewatch Orphan Black. I never finished it and no longer remember the plot, but I do remember it being really good. The main actress did a great job playing multiple characters.

Wentworth will tear out your heart and rip it to shreds just about every damn season. Still love it though.

Oh it most certainly will, season four was especially problematic for me. But still an amazing series.

Oh it certainly will, season four left me gutted... albeit not only because of the show, personal things lumped up in conjunction with it.

When it comes to Orphan Black, I'd suggest not looking it up too much in advance cause... it's literally impossible to say what it is about without spoiling the first couple of episodes.

Oh you definitely should, unless it's too late... look up as little as possible about Orphan Black, cause it's almost impossible not to spoil the first one or two episodes of the show when you read or talk about it.

If you’re into animation at all the new She-Ra(main and side characters) and The Dragon Prince(side characters) both have good lesbian characters.

Agreed, although the romance in She-Ra really takes a while to get going, so be prepared.

Take My Wife (don't read about the actual actors relationship)

    Derry Girls (subplot)

Legend of Korra (season 3 and 4)

    Orange is the New Black

Edit- If you want a movie, The Miseducation of Cameron Post was excellent. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

bbc has many great mini series! 1. Anything based on the Sarah waters novels: tipping the velvet, affinity, fingersmith (which the Handmaiden is based on) 2. Portrait of a marriage (Vita and Virginia) 3. Killing Eve (I know its not exactly what youre looking for but the Villaneve ship has me swooning over and over)

    I love Sarah Waters everything.

a couple of my favorites that I haven't seen mentioned:

Person of Interest on Netflix. A brilliant show on its own, mid/late season 2 and beyond features Sarah Shahi & Amy Acker /swoon

Black Sails on Hulu. Gay & bi pirates, what's not to love? Anne Bonny ♥

the Black Mirror episode San Junipero (Netflix) also deserves a mention.

Cute, quick watches that are more YA style: I Am Not Okay with This and Trinkets, both on Netflix.

POI is so good. Several excellent female characters in general. :) It's one of my top favorite shows (and I watch way too much tv).

I have not actually watched it yet, but I believe Wynonna Earp has two lesbian characters in a relationship together.

It looks really entertaining from the scenes I've seen. Also, I have a crush on the actress who plays Wynonna after watching her in Ready Or Not. What can I say, I'm a hopeless lesbian. Lol.

Ray Donovan. Katherine Moennig plays Lena. In the series Lena is a lesbian.

I enjoyed Ray Donovan so you might give it a go.

Gentleman Jack, Batwoman, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (animated), Killing Eve, Legend of Korra (animated) are the ones I liked the most. Motherland: Fort Salem is also ok. Atypical, and Harley Quinn (she ends up with Poison Ivy) are quite cute too.

Movie: Portrait of a Lady on Fire.

Also, a book that's really good is The Midnight Lie.

          [–]arc-en-ciel 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was almost ready to give up and not watch the Harley Quinn series when Ivy started getting together with Kite Man. He's just so incredibly lame, but I was holding out hope that maybe they'd pursue a Harley/Ivy relationship later. And sure enough...! Well, hopefully there's another season coming.

Godless on netflix if you like modern westerns.

Glow on Netflix in late season 2 and season 3. Also on Netflix, the unfortunately canceled Everything Sucks!

I forgot one! One Mississippi. It is on Amazon Prime and stars Tig Notaro

Dix pour cent is great. Good show, good concept, funny, good acting. Saying that, i have some problems with the way the supposedly lesbian character storyline goes.

Hear hear! Her sleeping with that bloke was spun to be what exactly - her competing with him? I got confused after that and sort of fell away. Is the 3rd season good?

          [–]carrotcake 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was fucking weird. They didn't fully expand on what were her feelings about him after that but he started going after her and she'd be a little bit hesitant? But maybe it's because he's crazy, like super stalker harassing crazy, and not because she's into him. I hope so.

As for the season as a whole, I watched everything at once so I'm not really sure but I think it was ok. Good, but not the best one. It was a little bit too much for what I can remember.

Gosh, you described very well what went on. I reckon I'll give the third season a go, given there's not much else in terms of similar content. Thanks!

It’s kind of a spoiler lol but Hannibal the tv show has my personal favorite lesbian couple in it as well as being an amazing horror show/dark comedy

I enjoyed SKAM France season 6 recently. It's on YouTube.

The novela, Amar a Muerte, also has a cute couple. If you search for "Juliantina" on YouTube, you'll find compilations of their story. They were so well received in Mexico and gathered many international fans, that the producers are planning a movie about them.

Edit: I also liked the story behind the couple in Atypical. It's cute.

Lost Girl, a supernatural drama. First episode is kind of cheesy but it gets good. The main char is bi and one of the other main chars is a lesbian.
