yes, definitely! I'm a few years younger & when I was growing up it was pretty rare for people to be outwardly super hateful... but little snide comments, especially from other girls, about how gross lesbians are (sometimes the same ones who fetishize the "gay guy best friend" trope...) always stung and added up. I'm still really cautious about showing affection even to my really close friends for fear of coming off creepy :/

I don't really have anything helpful to say but I do relate a lot, despite knowing I was gay since I was 13... I still sometimes try to convince myself I can be "at least" bisexual. and I'm also from New England with super accepting parents, so, /waves. you're definitely not alone.

Accepting that you have these feelings even though there's no "reason" for it is probably where you have to start.. think of it like depression, you know? Anyone can be depressed, no matter what their life and upbringing has been like. plus just telling yourself (out loud! sounds cheesy I know) daily that you're gay and there's literally nothing wrong with that (there isn't! plenty of people are gay! even plenty of animals are gay!) can even help. Fake it till you make it type stuff.

also... Sex definitely isn't the only reason to date someone you're attracted to, and you should never have to just "put up with" sex. :( <3

I don’t think it was a recent update? But I played it back in March or April. I know Kassandra definitely got to “spend the night” with her at least twice! just the usual flirty cutscene though nothing too exciting.

I romanced just about every woman I possibly could while playing that game.. I think the old lady whose husband couldn’t even begin to satisfy her was my favorite tbh, lmao.

well... they sleep together multiple times throughout the quest if you only bring back one pelt at a time and choose all the flirty dialogue options. the end of that quest line definitely did suck, though.

I play on ps4, mainly because I dislike the xbox controller and I love the uncharted series & TLOU which are sony exclusives. I also enjoy the dishonored series, AC, skyrim, and horror games. then there's pokemon on the switch and 3ds, plus the old nintendo classic games that are always fun to revisit..

one I have yet to play but would like to is horizon zero dawn, it's been out on ps4 for a while and seems to have great reviews. just recently was ported to PC, too, but no xbox :/

gender used to just be a synonym for sex. when a vet tech asks me what gender my dog is, it's obvious they are not asking how he identifies. for normal people that's still true, i think. writer is clearly drinking the genderist moron koolaid, though.

I’m sure this doesn’t apply to every cis guy, but I’ve seen a few posts from people who said that they thought they were cis guys who just thought lesbians were cool, before eventually realizing that they weren’t a guy at all and were a lesbian too. I figure that by allowing and accepting everyone, even curious straight guys, it makes it more okay for a questioning person to dip their toes in the water.

when asked why "cishet" men were in a sub for lesbians, someone responded with this. what a joke.

ah yes, those dastardly women so committed to TERFdom that they've gone deep undercover as trans, littering social media with their lame selfies and whiny text posts, all for the cause. sounds legit.

it's so true that the biggest downfall of the TRA movement will be their members' own behavior.

Yeah, it's true. Very sad for the kids that fall for this and scary as hell that there are parents pushing it on their children, some starting as young as 3 years old!

with regard to the "neovaginas"... I was wondering why, if it's strictly a dysphoria issue, they wouldn't just remove the penis (and create a hole for the urethra)? The pseudo vaginal cavity that is created during SRS is nothing like an actual vagina. Wouldn't having an obvious 'fake' just create even more dysphoria?

a couple of my favorites that I haven't seen mentioned:

Person of Interest on Netflix. A brilliant show on its own, mid/late season 2 and beyond features Sarah Shahi & Amy Acker /swoon

Black Sails on Hulu. Gay & bi pirates, what's not to love? Anne Bonny ♥

the Black Mirror episode San Junipero (Netflix) also deserves a mention.

Cute, quick watches that are more YA style: I Am Not Okay with This and Trinkets, both on Netflix.

Browsing that sub always gave me a headache, even before I peaked. I was particularly confused on how ""afab"" nonbinary people could be lesbians if transwomen were also 100% true and honest, oh-so-totally valid, lesbians. Wouldn't the inclusion of enbies reaffirm that lesbianism = sex based attraction, not gender? Hmmmm. Anyway. 11/16 mods there are male, which really says it all I think. They even have a handy guide on how not to be a transphobe, here's a tidbit:

Things which are not transphobic:

Not being interested in, or not dating, a specific woman who does not currently have the genitalia you prefer.

they actually think the surgical attempt at recreating female genitalia, or a neovagina, is equivalent to the real thing? shudder.

I’d guess most of the ones that overreact to “misgendering” don’t actually have dysphoria. If they did, I can’t see why they’d want to draw much attention to it. The trenders just have to put on a show.

Technically born Catholic, baptized and all that. It was really just a church on Christmas and Easter type of thing for my immediate family, and even that stopped when I was 11/12, though. As a kid I guess I was agnostic, now just atheist.
