When I'm there in person they realise but I can't be at every appointment so when I'm not there they assume I'm a man. Or when I call they assume it's my wife calling.

Our doctor understands but I don't know how the nurses ever graduated from school. I think they may have gone to school in a country where lesbians aren't out. The worst part is there's always one or two other lesbian couple there when we have an appointment so it's not like we're a rare sort of patient there.

Before we started we did our research and this place was supposed to be the most inclusive. I'm very tempted to change clinic but it would mean having to miss work to redo the blood test and preliminary ultrasound. At this point it's probably worth it.

The worst one is Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza. It used to be that lesbians were always assumed to be close friends but now it's like straight women aren't allowed to be close friends.

Usually what they mean is that all women can appreciate the beauty of women and would be okay with fantasizing about being with a woman but would never actually do anything physical. I find it actually more insulting for bisexuals. It makes it look like all bi women aren't serious about dating the same sex because all these straight women misrepresent them.

I mostly wear t shirt and button ups but during the summer I will also wear skirts and dresses. My clothes are all darker shades and floral. I like cardigans and comfy grandma-ish clothes. I have long hair that I leave down or braided. I'm also covered in tattoos so it's a bit of an eccentric look.
Short hair and homophobia by reluctant_commenter in Lesbians
Often when women come out as lesbian they will have a phase where they cut their hair and dress really masculine because they finally feel they're allowed to be GNC or they want others to know they're lesbians. There is no way to look lesbian though. Homosexuality is extremely random so you have people from all walks of life that end up gay. Since we're outsiders I think it makes it easier for us to be GNC but I think there are just as many masculine straight women as there are masculine lesbians. My city is very liberal and there's plenty of masc straight women.

It's great when you're in a relationship but oh man it was tough being single for so long. I don't think most people understand how hard it is to find other women. I was strung along by so many women who wanted to explore their sexuality and just took it because I didn't want to be alone.

I've had almost the same exact thing happen to me. I was like 20 back then and wasn't confident enough to tell them to fuck off. I really wish I had made an HR complaint or done something.
Once in uni I mentioned I had a gf in front of this Middle Eastern international student. Oh how that was a mistake. I think he never met someone openly gay before because he became obsessed with "fixing me". I was not able to stand up for myself at that time either but luckily one of my male friends spoke to him and he stopped bothering me.

I think it's just that. They don't want to hurt other people's feelings or don't want to be seen as mean. I noticed the type of people on our sub is mainly butches who were given shit their whole lives for being butch or femmes who date other femmes. They got shit for looking straight and getting hit on by dumb men invalidating their sexuality. A lot of us were also abused or had some kind of trauma in our lives. This made us stronger so now we won't let anyone bully us.

I'm kind of a Yuri expert in the sense that I was part of one of the big scanlation teams that helped got Yuri popular in the west in the 00s and used to do a lot of panels at anime conventions. First of all, westerners always try to put their western perspective on manga and anime. They don't understand that Japan has a completely different culture. Yuri isn't even really a lesbian thing. It is more now with modern Yuri but before it was meant as a pure romance thing. Whereas if you have a hetero relationship it couldn't be pure but one between women was seen that way. It was seen as a way for young girls to discover romance before meeting their husband in university. It was seen as a niche romance genre and usually the mangakas were men or straight women. Even though I'm a lesbian, I was never bothered by the fact that half my panels were men because to me Yuri isn't an exclusively lesbian thing. It is not meant to be representative of lesbian relationships.
In the 90-00s there was the start of a shift towards it being more representative of authentic same sex relationships. Bi and lesbian mangakas would be hired by magazines and Yuri got better and more popular. It was also around that time that trans people would get mentioned in Yuri but not in the way these people think. Transmen are in some Yuri because in Japan transmen stick with lesbians and transwomen with gay men. There is also a distinction between transvestites (crossdressers) and transexuals (takes hormones and lives full time as the other sex). Although it's old now, the best realistic example of this in Yuri is the manga Honey & Honey. You could also go into any gay bar in Japan and see what I mean.
Futa is a type of hentei and is completely unrelated to Yuri. I don't like hentei and have limited knowledge on this but it's very much a different thing. There is the beginning of an LGBT influence in manga though so it might change in the future.
Another example of this sort of cultural misunderstanding is how westerners think the character in Bloom into you is asexual.

It's really sad because they believe their own lies and then permanently damage their bodies. Neovagina disasters was such a great sub because it showed reality. For some transwomen, the dysphoria is so strong they just want to get rid of their penis and don't care. They know it's not the real thing. On the other hand there's so many young and impressionable teenagers that fall for the fantasy.
I know a lot more transguys than transwomen and none of them got SRS even after 5-10 years of transitioning. They usually date bi or queer women that are okay with what they have. I guess it's ancedotal but it seems transmen are way more connected to reality. Gaybros calls out transmen all the time and they didn't get banned.
Reading one of their daily transwomen are valid threads is like watching the Twilight zone. They're all shouting the same regurgitated ideas over and over and all their flairs say theyre trans. All the women on the sub stay quiet because they don't want to get banned. Once in a while there's a bi girl saying she's dating a transwoman and considers herself a lesbian. Take that turfs!!!1!!

I don't think the downvotes are from radfems. They're from different types of people who can see the BS. AL always complains about the downvotes but I think that most "cis" users there are fine with TW there but don't want to date them and are sick of their boowoo terfs circlejerk
The drama surrounding Terese Nielsen, lesbian MTG artist by deepblue in Lesbians
I haven't done MTG tournaments in 6-7 years and had no idea the TQ crowd took over. I guess that makes sense since back in the day it was mostly incels with poor hygiene. I actually stopped playing MTG because I so was sick of all the sexism and misogyny at tournaments. There's lots of great MTG players and I still play privately but it really doesn't attract the best crowds.

The trans cult has also been pushing this narrative that humans are not sexually dimorphic. That TIMs can look female. Small effeminate men or those that transitioned early and took puberty blockers still have this sexual dimorphism. It's off and uncanny. On pictures it can sometimes fool the eye but you can always tell in person that something is wrong.
There is complete denial about this. Some handmaidens will say I will date you if you look "cis" but they can't took cis. It's impossible. They're trying to tiptoe and walk on eggshells. Some TIMs are realising that lesbians might say they see them as woman but their actions speak for themselves. Even bisexuals don't want them.

Is the Trans population grossly misrepresented online? by Titi89 in GenderCritical
Most of the ones on Reddit are doing it because they want to live their sissy fetish full time. If you saw them on the street you wouldn't know they were supposed to be trans because they pass so poorly. If you're involved in LGBT circles you meet many. Geek culture too for some reason. I've seen a bunch that attempt at passing at conventions and gaming competitions but then again someone who doesn't know much about trans stuff would probably think they're effeminate gay men. I live in a very liberal area so that might be why I see so many.

No matter what most places will end up curated to a certain extent. Having trolls stink up your posts isn't fun but having too much moderation also isn't fun. You have to find somewhere at the level you like it. Having been on the internet a while, I think the best places are the old school forums. Not everyone likes that format but I like how everyone has an equal voice. Nobody gets pushed at the top because they have a popular opinion. The moderation depends on the site owner. Take it or leave it. You can always start your own private forum if you're not happy.
Apparently Contrapoints used to read Gender Critical - so he does know exactly how dishonest and woman hating he is by CaliforniGinger in GenderCritical
I first heard of Contra when they were still William and he was a cross dresser. He knew back then he was AGP and it was all a fetish but I guess the fetish won. Contra is weird because he has these small moments of lucidity then the TRA mob goes after him so he goes back in line. Over time the delusion grew and now he's full TRA. I think eventually everything will fall apart for him and he'll fall into a huge depression and maybe suicide. I honestly hope there's still some sanity left in him and he'll turn things around and detrans.

Call me optimistic but I think it will eventually end. I think it's all mass hysteria like we had for disassociate identity disorder in the 80s and satanic panic in the 90s. Most people are just unaware and don't know better. They want to be nice and TRAs are loud. Most of the people who support TRAs are very young and naive.
