Okay great starting off by accusing me of being a troll. What is one specific, material thing that LGB Alliance has done for actual LGB people? Other get in arguments on Twitter and post about how it's not homophobic to oppose same-sex marriage. It's just an anti-trans group campaigning under our name, and fine, I want a variety of groups to oppose gender identity legislation and "treatment" because it's wrong and I don't support it, but don't do it under our name if you're not going to specifically campaign for the rights of same-sex attracted people.

For the sake of fairness, I'll include the minimal effort they've put into protecting LGB people, so everyone can see how insignificant it is. And you know what, to pad this list, I'll include emails and tweets because that's how little there is:

  • Email MPs asking them to stop "transing the gay away" by making "trans conversion therapy" (anything other than the affirmation-only approach) illegal.

  • Co-founder said that "trans women" can't be lesbians in an interview.

  • Publicly accused Tavistock of "transing away the gay"

  • (This is the only significant one) Former director initiated a legal case calling for a judicial review of the Equality and Human Rights Commission's guidance on the Equality Act 2010. And she crowdfunded the legal fees.

What the fuck are the donors paying for? I'm being 100% serious. Are they paying for them to keep professional email-writers on staff 9-5 5 days a week? Where are the results?

Sure, they'd make more money as TRAs, and I don't think that they have literally zero care for LGB people, but the organization has been of very little use to us politically. I'd love to donate to an organization that was actually interested in creating content to educate people on these issues and/or lobbying hard for LGB-specific legal rights. But paying money for a professional tweeter to say that it's not homophobic to oppose same-sex marriage because "gay people are less likely to be married anyway"? Fuck off.

"The three real sexualities" isn't a phrase that has been tossed around here with regularity, so why don't you go ahead and let us all know on what basis you make that claim?

Sure. Orientation is based on attraction to one or both of the two sexes. There is exclusive attraction to the same sex (homosexuality), exclusive attraction to the opposite sex (heterosexuality), and attraction to both sexes (bisexuality). If orientation is not based on sex, what is it based on? And what are the implications of that on the other orientations? That perhaps they are also not exclusively sex-based? What are the ramifications of that on homosexual rights?

And you're really pushing it with the personal insults.

You really think that "attraction to males and females" is a "rewritten" definition of bisexuality? Is "female homosexual" a "rewritten" definition of "lesbian" as well because it's exactly the same as the definition of "bisexual" in that it only describes the sexes one is attracted to, the only difference being that the definition of "lesbian" also includes the sex of the subject of the orientation.

What exactly is the "original" definition of bisexuality then?

And it seems you're getting confused between attraction to trans people and actually being trans. I never said that you thought trans people are degenerate, but I'm assuming that you consider bisexuals who are attracted to trans people to be fetishists, and that's where I added my own label "degenerate" to describe them.

My argument is honest. Bisexual = attraction to males and females. What's your argument? "No, I don't like that and it makes us look bad; I want to specifically exclude bisexuals who are attracted to trans people."

I don't misuse "lesbian" to include attraction to trans women. I merely expect the same respect in return.

You're being intellectually dishonest. The users here aren't calling people who are interested in women and "trans men" bisexual, it's people who are interested in both males and females. Trans status is not relevant to the definition of "bisexual". If a person is interested in both males and females, they are bisexual, regardless of the trans status of those people.

You are the one who is misusing the term. It means attraction to both males and females. I'll give you an example: if a guy likes women and "trans women" he is bisexual because he likes females (women) and males (trans women). I can go over the rest of the possible combinations, but I think you get what I'm saying. Attraction to both males and females is all that's relevant.

Nowadays, homosexuals aren't allowed to gather because they're a fetish for straight people who want to have sex with them so bad that they are attempting to erase the reality that homosexuals can't feel attraction to the opposite sex. Sexual fetishism has begun to replace religious fetishism in our society.

Except this rhetoric DOESN'T make sense to bisexuals;

I am a bi former TRA, this is what I and several other former bi friends believed. Yes, it's anecdotal, but you can see this rhetoric embraced in bi and TRA communities.

(any more than yours is)

Lol, you're not the first to assume I'm gay.

You know what they ARE compatible with? FANTASIES about bisexuality... as seen from the outside. By people who aren't bisexual. For whom we're merely symbols. Of some woke delusion about how human sexuality "should" work. Everyone oughtta be totally uninhibited! And above such LOWLY concerns as which kind of genitals anybody has! You shouldn't even NOTICE that! Cuz it's all about "gender identity" anyway! THAT'S what people are attracted to-- not your biological sex, but whether you have ladyfeelz or dudefeelz! (Or nonbinaryfeelz, or starfeelz, or whateverthefuckfeelz.) And OF COURSE this is how bisexuality works, since it's not as though we're a sexual orientation or anything! We're the JUNK DRAWER of sexuality! Doesn't fit anywhere else? Just throw it ALL in there!

So, yeah, this really DOES sound like the Q talking. For whom "attracted to both sexes" means "doesn't CARE what sex anyone is cuz they're attracted to GENDER and totally indiscriminate = LIVIN' THE WOKESTER DREAMTM". Which they are free to think because they don't have any pesky REALITY getting in the way... like we bisexuals do.

This is a strawman. Obviously I don't agree with TRA rhetoric. All I said is that bisexuals are the only orientation who would not be repulsed by transsexuals on the basis of their orientation, because a bisexual is not repulsed by either sex's primary or secondary sex characteristics. For example, a lesbian would be repulsed by a transsexual male because he is male, and would be repulsed by a transsexual female because she has biologically masculine characteristics, such as increased body and even facial hair and lack of breasts.

My point about "sexuality is fluid" being a bi thing is because it is. Let me explain: "sexuality" is fluid does kind of sound meaningless, but what it means is that sexuality can change. It's fluid as opposed to solid or rigid. Now, for a bisexual, one's orientation may appear to change. One day, a bi man may see an attractive man, and think, hmm I am attracted to men today. That makes me a gay man. Then the next day, he sleeps with an attractive woman and enjoys it. "Wow, she turned me straight." This is the kind of nonsense a bisexual may think up in a homophobic world with no bi community. Obviously, that isn't going on with the bi community here on saidit, but we're a tiny minority. There are also sane bis outside of our community, but there also are a ton who are not, as is extensively documented on our sub.

Who cares if bisexuals could technically possibly not be repulsed by trans people?

Because it's important to recognize the way in which bisexuality and monosexuality (though specifically homosexuality) differ when it comes to trans attraction. The average gay male is not gonna like a man with titties, because titties remind him of women, which he finds repulsive. Now, a bisexual may find a man with titties repulsive, but only because it's weird and unnatural, not because they are repulsed by the (seemingly) femaleness of the titties, or the maleness of the man. In the homosexual's case (which applies, though slightly differently obviously, to all monosexuals), the repulsion is based on his orientation. In the bisexual's case, the repulsion is based on a preference, which is a completely normal, natural, and understandable preference to have, but this understanding sheds light on the reason why the proportion of bisexuals in the TRA movement is much higher. A bisexual is likely to be repulsed by a transsexual, but a monosexual will be repulsed by a transsexual 99.9% of the time.

why are you even bringing that up in a support thread for bisexuals?

Because I was explaining to the person I originally quoted what the reasoning was behind that statement.

Just because bisexuals are attracted to both sexes doesn't mean we want a person who has surgically-modified themselves to be a conglomeration of both.

I never said that. All I said was that the only people who could possibly be interested in trans-id people are bisexuals or fetishists.

Don't really care if an amalgam human experiment only has fetishists left.

Nor do I, but the fact remains, some bisexuals and fetishists are attracted to them. Some bisexuals are included. I never said "bisexuals have to fuck trans people", I literally just said the only people who could are bis and fetishists.

But trans people AREN'T "both sexes"; they're not hermaphrodites. They're either men or women. And we aren't attracted to every man or every woman, so why would it be any different with them?

I never said they were both sexes or that bisexuals are attracted to every man and woman. All I said is that only a bisexual (or fetishist) is capable of not being repulsed by a trans person's mixed sex characteristics. Obviously, some, maybe even most, bisexuals are repulsed anyway, but it's not because they are repulsed by either maleness or femaleness the way a monosexual would be--the vast majority of monosexuals could not date any trans person because their orientation prevents it.

I really like both tuna salad sandwiches and hot fudge sundaes, but I damn sure ain't interested in MIXING 'EM TOGETHER. Separately, they're great; but as one combo dish? NO FUCKING THANKS.

A bi person didn't defend TRA ideology using rhetoric created by bisexuals which only remotely makes sense to bisexuals (specifically talking about the "sexuality is fluid" myth, but there are many others, such as: "genitals != gender", "who cares what genitals your partner has, bigot")! That person isn't bi! They're really straight but pretending to be bi for attention! Instead of accepting the possibility that a bi person really did do a bad thing.

Trans people are a threat to everyone, not just gay men and lesbians.

Can you at least see that they're more of a threat to monosexuals, especially homosexuals because of their disadvantaged position in society? Because like Daddiescummies (lmfao) said, they really want to have sex with a real gay for the ultimate validation high.

And to me, this:

"Leave homosexuals alone, just date bisexuals. They like both sexes,"

seems like just a simple statement of fact. That's really the only option other than fetishists, because monosexuals will be especially repulsed by seeing sex-characteristics of the sex they aren't into, even if that person is of the sex they're interested in.

Uh, are they actually interested in both men and women? If so, they are actual bisexuals, not "fake bisexuals". Because yeah, some bisexuals do pretend to be gay, which is a problem. Or, are you using the word "gay" as a term for all same-sex attracted people, including bisexuals? It just wasn't clear. But yeah, we really outnumber you, though most of us don't identify as bi.

What does “woke” or “wokeness” mean to you and how would you explain that to an intelligent woke gay friend who you were trying to convince it poses a problem for the gay community? by yousaythosethings in LGBDropTheT

I was about to suggest this! Fantastic resource. The only thing is that the author himself actually participates in identity politics (if you criticize Israel you h8 Jews!!1!!11), but I guess everyone falls victim to ideology at some point. Still, he makes excellent analyses.

trans people aren't demanding sex from you to validate their gender delusions.

True, which is why it's very important for us to be allies with L&G, especially since we outnumber you.

What I got from this post is that her point is that she's feeling isolated because most bisexuals are TRAs, but yeah, that is up to us to corral our own.

I see what you mean. In some cases, it does make sense to clearly define the difference between transsexuals and "transtrenders", but there is honestly not much difference in their ideologies, so I don't really distinguish them often.

I feel you. Keep your head up, you're not alone. As a GC bi, you're setting an example for all other bis, so they can understand they don't have to believe in this ideology. Continue to speak out and stand up for yourselves and our allies (L&G, kids, other women).

It's actually really normal to not feel sexually attracted to a person until after you form an emotional bond with them. It's sort of how we have society where children are raised by parents.

there is no strict rule that all transmen are inherently bottoms.

Yes, there is, and it's called the lack of a functioning penis.

No! A bottom isn't the receiver in gay anal sex, it's the bratty, feminine, uwu softboy one!!!1!

Not all anime is like that, but yeah, a lot of it is. Japan has disgusting age of consent laws. I believe 14 for boys and 13 for girls, so yeah, pedophilia is legal and often depicted in anime. It's possible that those girls (women?) depicted are said by the artist to be adults, but the fact remains that they are drawn to look like children because that is considered sexy in Japan. This is most common in "slice of life" or "healing" anime, which is basically trans-id male grooming content, that depicts women and girls' lives and lesbian relationships, well, like this. Then, boys and men get jealous and angry, wanting to live this life that they don't know doesn't even exist and was just made up in another man's head, then we get the transbians we see today.

suddenly all of the people fighting for it have two options: (1) stop and go home and be happy that you achieved your goal, or (2) continue to fight and just find something else to fight for/about/over.

No, they could have directed their resources towards places where homosexuality is illegal. But yes, all they gay rights activists just said "welp, we're done" and were taken over by TRAs because "you don't have to understand us, but our cause is exactly like yours because of this comparison, this analogy, and a healthy dose of shame if you don't support us, because don't you wish more people had supported gay rights when you were fighting for them? Nevermind that none of us participated in the fight for gay rights and actively work against them to this day.

not too long ago, homosexuality was considered a mental illness and it was not that long ago that it was removed from the DSM. So, even as recent as maybe 30 to 40 years ago, there were people that looked at gay people and said, "They have a mental illness and need to be cured of it." Then I look at some of the things that I've said about the T, specifically, "they have a mental illness and it needs to be treated as such and not just affirmed."

An unfortunate coincidence. Sexual orientation can be physically measured, while "gender identity" can not, because it has no basis in material reality, unlike homosexuality. This is proof that while homosexuality is not a mental illness, gender dysphoria is (which is an established fact anyway).

I'm bi and I agree with you. I am a former TRA, and I'm actually bisexual, actually same-sex leaning. The idea that every bi person who does something bad/is a TRA is just a het faker is ridiculous. L&G are a minority within a minority. I know several (real) bis, but I only know a single lesbian and zero gay men (to be fair, I don't go out much or participate in "LGBT" groups) in real life. Of course you want your own space, and you deserve it. There will always be a mixed space with homosexuals and bisexuals, but bi people also need their own spaces so they don't feel the need to rely on exclusively homosexual spaces, which are desperately needed. It seems like everyone here has forgotten why LGB is even a thing in the first place: it's a minority group built to lobby for our rights as a minority x_x . So don't homosexuals get to have their own groups so their voices are heard and they can spend time with one another?
