Yup, that completely makes sense! We will eventually get to it for sure.

Not yet, but we're going to add it. There is an ignore function, but it currently only works for private messages.
We should hyperinflate money until rich people lose it all, then inflate it. by Teak in whatever

Yeah they were really quite wise for their time, no doubt about it
Ha, glad to see you open to having your mind changed, I like you already. Also this quote comes to mind, a great quote from Jefferson that's exactly about this: https://pics.me.me/quote-i-believe-that-banking-institutions-are-more-dangerous-to-45530107.png
PSA: Our site culture is dropping. by wizzwizz4 in SaidIt
You're right. I guess I mean it more in the sense of having a million rules, and the only people who care enough to keep track of them all are the anal-retentive people trying to create an authoritarian echo-chamber. That's what I saw on reddit again and again, so the less rules the better. Not that we can't have new rules, but if something is covered by the existing rules in any way we should work hard to not add more rules as long as the site culture isn't actually decaying. That's how I see it.

When hyperinflation happens, the hyperwealthy just change currencies, or buy valuable assets like gold and silver (and aluminum, and oil, and so on).
Meanwhile the middle class are stuck in dollars, so they get screwed. It would make a lot of existing debts easier to pay off. But it would also make existing salaries worth less. So it's hard to say it'd be a net positive against the richest 0.1%, and in fact probably the opposite.

Do you have any news articles about this? I would like to read more if you know of any

I agree. But I think even prior to that, when it was changing from whoaverse to voat, it was taken over by Stormfront/white-nationalist types to use it as a tool for their own purposes. It's just a mess on top of a mess.

Normies.... by 07user01 in Libertarianism
Well I thought we were talking specifically about libertarian-capitalism/anarcho-capitalism, as per the original post, and I was pointing out its fatal flaw

It's a sub that's well-established on other sites. It revolves around making fun of black people, about how stupid and ugly they are, and how they wish black people were dead. It's an offshoot of voats /v/niggers. It's the exact type of low-information group-hatred we created saidit to avoid.

New MDMA Study From Johns Hopkins Further Explains Why Ecstasy Can Help Treat PTSD by SecretlyHistoric in GoodNews
That's a very interesting story. Are you sure it was pure MDMA? A lot of "ecstacy" is cut with amphetamines or other drugs, that could've been the issue, I wonder. And then maybe your friends were just acting how they thought they were supposed to act, like when you give teenagers fake beer and they think they're drunk but they're not.
It also makes sense though that certain drugs help certain people in certain mindsets. There's no "one-size-fits-all" epiphany drug, I guess haha

Using the 'report' button, flag the pyramid of debate violations. This is our system of taking care of people who don't respect the pyramid of debate
That's not a bad idea, my hesitation would be that over-focusing on the rules as a site culture is going to lead to a rule-obsessed and legalistic site culture, and I'm not sure that's desirable. But that's probably one of the better approaches I've heard, I'll think it over some more

Thanks for some anti-switzerland links, to even things out a bit.
I don't expect anywhere in the world we'll be 100% protected, it's just about doing the smartest thing we can do for the long-term survival of this site.
And I know you can do the swiss-banking thing without living there, my grandfather did it and we had to retrieve everything stored in his account there after he died, and it was incredibly complex to retrieve and did involve a trip to switzerland.
Traditionalism VS (((Frankfurt School/Cultural Marxism))) by send_nasty_stuff in altrightwebm
Yup I agree with your last sentence too. Thanks for trying to adapt to the rules of the site, the effort means a lot. JasonCarswell knows all the rules pretty well so he should be a good guide, hopefully.
No problem! It may be a month or two because we have so many pending items on our to-do list, but it'll get done. :)
No I'm not assuming it would work perfectly, in fact I'm arguing the opposite in this conversation
It seems that way, they have little man-made diving caves to practice in, and I bet some of those are super-narrow, like you have to take off your tank and push it in front of you, kind of narrow.
Issue regarding the pornographic rule by HorseMeat in SaidIt
I appreciate the offer, but honestly it still sounds like a ton of work that adds almost no value to saidit.

Every ideological demographic is welcome as long as they are respectful towards others. That's the cool thing about saidit
Thank you! I will do some more reading on this. Switzerland is looking better and better
Now that you mention it, I guess we don't have that box. I never noticed before. I'll add it to our to-do list.
