Imagine : you enter a text in a config file and the bot "write" on your calendar using commits, which means he commit on some days only.

This is a really good idea. I think this is the way communities.win works. I suppose they have one main server, which serve their website (thedonald.win) then propose to others to host their communities to communities.win and all you have to bring is a domain name. Maybe they even use the saidit/reddit codebase. I don't know, this is pure supposition.

I would be awesome if SaidIt can bring something similar. I dream to get my own SaidIt-like forum, for which I already have some ideas : french-only, one user can own 1 sub only, 10 max posts (posts and comments) per day (use wikis, private messaging or really have something to say, concentrate the information you give), 5-10 big multisubs anchored on top of the front-page, sub must be part of a multisub, no friend option, etc,etc...

Ideally, one login could be used to log to both my website and SaidIt, and to other websites of the network, the way communities.win do it.

This would be not a decentralised network as ActivityPub state it, but it could be called a federation.

I just do not have the technical skills to set up my own saidit-like, so I'm dependent of other people here.

What I like about Littr is that the guy behind it deliberately doesn't add the ability for users to create subs. Littr is monosub. If you want to speak about something else, create your own littr instance, which will be federated. This way, I think discussions can be more focused than in reddit, saidit or other reddit-like. Monosub helps to improve discussions, I think. There is no misuse or confusion in which sub to post like we can see in saidit with AskSaidit, Saidit, SaiditCSStheme, etc.

Thanks for sharing your experience as Poal is often compared to Saidit. The degree of free speech perception vary from one user to an other. Some people also left Saidit because of what they think about freespeech/abusive mods/whatever...

I personally ended up here because the Saidit interface is translated into my language. Poal doesn't seems to be translated. For me, the question is not focused of free speech, even if I'm glad to see that alt-right posts/comms aren't moderated.

I never liked reddit : it's too big, too populated. It seems you can't follow anything or anybody on big subs. Saidit is my first reddit experience. Sadly, as a reddit clone, Saidit doesn't resolve anything : if it grows too much, the problem will be the same.
