I think I could survive quite well. Frankly I think if at any point it was more than an inconvenience I would simply be motivated into finding better solutions than what you have already pointed out. I don't believe that people in developed countries are less capable of enduring hardships, they simply don't because they develop solutions.

For starters they could be using umbrellas, or hanging bedsheets to create shade. If there is ground water they can build swamp coolers. Wide brim hats can be made from straw. Hard labor can be put off for another day. Communities can build cooling centers. Under ground shelters can provide zero energy mild temperature shelters.

Heat waves can kill people anywhere, for example new york. A few years ago they had brown outs during a heat wave and people died trying to sleep on the rooftops to escape the heat. But realistically they still had plenty of options, they just didn't understand the danger.

I'm not familiar with this forum's software but a phpBB based forum I helped to administrate offered options as to the posting permissions of new accounts. This was years ago so my memory might be fuzzy- but seem to recall moderator options to restrict new accounts in numerous ways including sending a set number f early posts to a moderator queue; I know Reddit (or at least many subreddits) makes new accounts wait a set time (five minutes?) between posts.

As an admin, I was able to view member lists sorted by newest. Many spammers basically telegraph their intention with their username and as in one case this weekend, the same root name used with numbers.

Just letting them shit all over the forum seems counterintuitive if you want to administer a useable platform that people will want to use.

Anyway, my free time has dried up and I have very very little time to do much reporting- there's just way too many to be bothered. If there was some basic constraints on accounts in the first few posts it should be evident who's here to contribute to the discussion and who's here to plaster ads or other garbage.
