GPS doesn't prove space and time are related by jerryk in Physics

[–]zyxzevn 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The GPS position is determined by the time it takes for satellite signals to arrive.
There is a small difference in clock-speed at different heights on earth.
In General Relativity this difference is predicted.

This can only be measured with very accurate atomic clocks. Too expensive for small GPS devices. The engineering solution (as in your quote) is to use the satellites to "calibrate" the clock of a GPS on earth.

The reason for "change in clock speed" are the more basic laws:
1- energy must be conserved,
2- matter can be turned into light.
When matter in gravity becomes light (positron+electron), all gravity potential energy is lost.
So to conserve energy light must somehow be different in gravity.

The main criticism of General Relativity is that Tensor mathematics is used completely wrong.
(a.o. by the inventor of Tensors himself).

What I see as a major problem with the theory of gravity = acceleration, is that electrical charged objects do not experience acceleration on their charges.
There is some complicated maths that is used as a mainstream explanation, but that maths looks false to me.

There are also some alternatives to General Relativity.
Ron Hatch and younger Einstein think that the the speed of light is different in different gravity strengths.

[–]Musky 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

AI summary:

This essay argues that intellectuals often oppose capitalism due to misunderstandings about its nature. It explains how capitalism is frequently conflated with cronyism or corporatism, and highlights the difference between them. The author emphasizes the importance of true capitalism, which is based on voluntary exchange and property rights, for promoting prosperity and freedom.

Personally I think intellectual contributions are rarely all that clearly advantageous to a community. These are largely people that might be seen as useless in times of scarcity unless they are of particular genius or accomplishment, so communal resource sharing is attractive for their own personal safety.

It also conveniently elevates the intellectual above workers. They don't want to dig ditches for their meals. Their job is thinking big thoughts.

Intellectuals often think of themselves as secular priests/monks,
who eschew commercial concerns.

They may thus feel contempt for
both dogmatic materialist Capitalism
and dogmatic materialist Marxism ('Communism').

They imagine that they're here to do the work
of understanding what the human adventure is all about.

This is actually an essential societal function,
providing ethical direction, etc.

It's something that used to be thought of
as trying to figure out the Mind of the Gods, as it were.

Unfortunately, today, the intelligentsia may have been
infiltrated and corrupted by bad actors
manipulating the gullible into undermining/discrediting
(actual) thought/episteme/science
in order to return humanity to the dark ages of
top-down dogma-based authority, where sociopaths can thrive.

So, let me get this straight:

The policy of the USA is to do everything
to aid and abet a criminal supremacist regime,
giving it money (lots!), 'intelligence' and weaponry,
helping it mass murder the legitimate inhabitants
of Palestine, and steal their ancestral land,
thus fully colluding in the ethnic-cleansing.

But that's ok ... cause the USA also build a pier for the victims.

Is this a joke?

How about simply not funding, arming and helping the perpetrators?

Did that ever occur to anyone?

https://www.worldhistory.org/image/11390/juno-sospita-antefix/

She's not associated with the underworld. She's the Etruscan version of the Roman Goddess Juno.

I can't find any Etruscan mythical figure canned Vatika. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Etruscan_mythological_figures

The Etruscan goddess of the underworld was Persipnei, which, again, is not Vatika

So then though after the USSR collapses and they're not communist anymore, then Star Trek creates the borg to represent them? Doesn't make too much sense. I think it represents corporatism and running everything in computers. Very impersonal, laying people off, infiltrating everything, going to be end of humanity.

Doing an undercover expose on a secret society is something Alex jones might do, or James Keefe with his undercover videos, not something I'd expect to see on MSM, even then, we know the MSM was run by the CIA for decades, so I question why they want us to know this. I've long thought all media, news, movies, books, everything is primarily for the elite and is coded with symbols only they know. That's why everything seems so weird. They were constantly putting 9/11 symbolism in everything before it and we only understand it in retrospect. What does skull and bones and being under skin have in common, that's obvious, skulls and bones are under your skin. Brokaw says the skull and bones members often think they're superior and that gets under the skin of those who went elsewhere. Rosenbaum says he got the video 9 days ago, this is edited but I bet they said 11 sometime else during that newscast. I've heard it said that a nine and two ones looks like a skull and bones, not sure if I buy that.

I don't know if this is accurate or not and I'm open to criticism, but a thought occurred to me the other day - femininity is a state of being, while masculinity must be achieved.

Before the internet, weird awkward boys like this were forced to learn skills and make their way in the world. They gained social skills because they had to, there was no computer to hide behind. Now they are not forced to grow up and become men in any sense of the word, deal with any real challenges or achieve anything of importance. Their fears are coddled and exploited, and they believe they are failed men and they can take the easy way out by 'becoming' women. But there is no 'becoming' a woman, it's an impossibility. And so their lives are muddled in delusion and misery and they still can't let go of it.

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain repeats the word "ni**er" over 200 times. This fiction was required reading for me in their government ("public") school system. Why?

It's not taught now, for that reason.

But Twain was very much not a racist. The racism of his characters that use the word is meant to be judged by the reader, and is starkly displayed.

“It warn't the grounding - that didn't keep us back but a little. We We blowed out a cylinder-head.”
“Good gracious! anybody hurt?”
“No'm. Killed a ni**er.”
“Well, it's lucky; because sometimes people do get hurt.”

The author is displaying a callous racism in the characters. You could discuss it at a high school level, but you need to be very careful to avoid offence when discussing the book.

This same institution will fire a teacher for having a Holy Bible on his desk,

Not exactly. For insubordination of refusing, in writing, to remove other religious books from the top of the desk while teaching the class.

The Ohio Supreme Court concluded that Freshwater had the right to keep a Bible on his desk, ruling it was so inconspicuous that “Many students never even noticed the Bible or only realized it was in the classroom after it became a highlight of this controversy.”

But the state court ruled that Freshwater’s refusal to remove other religious materials — such as the books he had checked out of the library — demonstrated “blatant insubordination. That insubordination is established by clear and convincing evidence, and the record fully supports the board’s decision to terminate him on these grounds.”

which preaches God's love for all.

Not exactly. For instance Psalm 137:9 "Happy shall they be who take your little ones and dash them against the rock!"

Funny you say that when you have no idea of Russian military doctrine, insist on a derogatory name for Russian people coming from a group that's been anti-Russian since the 1940s and make conflations with Star Trek's fictional enemies instead of reading about the Chechyan War and how Russia went after military targets over civilian centers.

Now, it's quite common, I've noticed, to compare the Russians to the "Orcs", from Lord of the Rings, these days, in the Western media. And, indeed, I'm by no means sure that J.R.R. Tolkien did not indeed have Stalin in mind with Sauron, and that Mordor was not the Soviet Union, in the mind of the creator of the Lord of the Rings. However, I think in Vladimir Putin's mind, and in reality, the comparison to "The Borg", from "Star Trek: the Next Generation" would be much more apt.

Hint: It's not common except in Eastern Europe to dislike Russia due to it having more success than places like Poland.

Maybe instead of going around talking about countries, you can learn that the CIA usually tries to screw over countries by not telling you the truth about how they function and operate.

More seriously if you can't plan out meals how are you going to cope after? Eating out for every meal isn't exactly realistic. You should at least know you're gonna be hungry. Like you know you're going to need sleep, or the bathroom. This stuff is a level of basic I've seen literal 6 year olds plan better. Or at least I've seen my cousin pack her lunch for a day trip and grab some snacks 'in case' things are later than expected. My 6 year old cousin has better planning skills than these people...

There’s that and there used to be no interage mixing, so a bunch of degenerate middle aged men wouldn’t be able to groom awkward adolescents into joining their degeneracy.

As a 16-21, the only older men I knew were teachers/professors, family and family friends, none of whom I spent any time socialising with. The advent of social media and sites like Reddit mean that the freakiest of men have access to the most awkward and socially-retarded young adults.

I don’t think over-18s can be groomed like children, but the drive for social acceptance is powerful, and the degenerates use that.

Talking to gay friends, this was well known in gay social circles, that the older men were prone to prey on the younger ones and that’s how you ended up with some of the utterly unhinged gay sexual practices

The full list of medical supplies demands is hilarious, it’s like they’re in a war zone. They start by saying they need tourniquets, wound packing gauze and various other things you’d find in a combat medic’s kit, and then suddenly it and we want condoms, dental dams, hiv testing kits, plan b, and diva cups.

They’re truly the most insufferable cunts.

George R.R. Martin mispronounced names and praised white male authors. A career-ending move. Martin is leftist, very strongly siding with Hillary, and several times claimed to be a feminist with his female characters. Good point.

Tyranny leads to anarchy.

The world will soon go full Mad Max.

Obeying the law is easy when only murder and theft are illegal, but no can obey the law if everything is illegal.

What can you do when fireworks are illegal, but firecrackers are mandatory?

Who will enforce the law when the government cannot pay the Gestapo?

Who will enforce the law when the Gestapo are abolished?

Why would cops defend the state when the Gestapo must wear masks and get dangerous vaccines?

Maybe living in a free country leads people to be trusting and friendly and living in a police state causes people to be suspicious and rude.

Americans used to be surprised Russians from the Soviet Union were unfriendly.

Now that the USA is also a police state, you might understand why.

That's the idea. Let them be killed then use their deaths, that he caused, to gain support for himself against big bad Russia by pretending that those deaths are on Russia.

He's no better than Naziyahoo, trying to get NATO directly involved by any means necessary. Anything to distract TV-watching zombies from his own crimes.

If the government's anti-"pedophilia" laws are about "protecting children", than why do they arrest teenage girls for making porn videos of themselves? Throwing 15 year old girls in jail and then registering them as sex offenders for life seems like the opposite of "protecting children". by 14MJOLNIR88 in AskSaidIt
