It is Gaia's will.

Seriously, if anyone is concerned about a single user a group of users posting too big of the share of new posts, then I think the problem is others not posting enough, not that some are posting too much.

I think the main strength is that all opinions are welcomed to be expressed and any reasoning or evidence to back up those opinions can be given without ridicule by the group. I've only seen some individual acts of dismissiveness here. Maybe that's because this site attracts users who are more independent-minded in nature.

No need to get into name-calling over this. There are guidelines to conducting discussion on Saidit. Some of those are hard lines that we do not cross and others (namely Pyramid of Debate) that are usually relaxed to give the user the benefit of the doubt. One of the covenants laid out by u/Magnora7 where the moderator agrees to allow discussion, even if they disagree with the user's opinion, in exchange for maintaining a subSaidit here in /all. If the moderator chooses not to abide by this agreement, then they can take the sub off /all. Simple, right? There are exceptions for abuse, but be careful to back up your claim for abuse.

I will reiterate what others have brought up: This rule is in direct response to what Reddit has become and this site is the result of u/Magnora7 wanting to create a freer space for discussion. Also, if everyone agrees with each other here and knows it all, what is the purpose of discussion?

I have noticed some usernames comment on regular posts before starting their own spam posts. I have also noticed they will comment on each other's posts. It may be one person or a group.

One spammer recently tried to convince me that he was not a spammer. A few weeks ago while I was out of town and away from the site for days at a time, a spammer tried to summon me by using my username in the comments of one of his posts. I guess he was wondering if I was watching since it took me a week to catch it. At first, I thought maybe it was a regular user's alt seeing if anyone was catching spam.

Thank you to all who report the spam. It makes it easier to clear.

When I was a kid, there was "Baby Jessica in the Well". A toddler fell feet first down a well and it was headline news before the 24 hour news networks and internet news. I wondered at the time why it shadowed all the other stories. I guess it is because it is a tragic situation where there is still hope for recovery. We want to see what humanity can do to save people from these events. As time runs out for the sub, you will see the story less and less until it is a minor story next week.

One family with guns that tries to live off the land? Maybe not. One family with guns that forms bonds with other local families with different skills and abilities to share? You have a community that takes care of on another. That's how I think things would happen. People tend to come together when faced with that kind of adversity with no easy help. Of course, there will be people who try to prey upon the ones that try to provide for themselves, but they will be the minority and mostly lone wolves.

I like this site because it gives a platform for freer discussion and exchange of information. Although I am a natural skeptic, I am not one to follow a lot of the trends here, but I do like that I can pick up information that otherwise would be suppressed by the main-stream media and other publications.

It always comes down to the parents and the parent participation in the lives of their children. I am lucky enough to live in a very good school district with great parent participation. I received an email to sign up for bringing snacks for "movie day" next week. Within 10 minutes of the emails going out, all of the slots were filled. This works with volunteers, art, music, and educational supplies, and any other kind of donation. So many parents transport their children to and from school (this is a mainly rural district). I would guess that the school in this video has parents who don't even know if their children are missing school until they get a visit from a truancy officer.

Welcome. My guess on why this site isn't bigger, is because there is already Reddit. The users here have typically gotten tired of the Reddit censorship and forum manipulation by the shills and bots. So, while you can find news, information, and discussion here that has been censored at Reddit and other sites, there is far more content there, both with news and hobbies, than gets passed around here. Also, the "free speech" turns some people away. While you can speak you mind here freely, there are some no-no's such as no porn, no calls to violence, and no sexualizing children. These posts and comments will be removed and may even get you banned. Add your own content and join in the discussions of others' posts and this place will grow.

Pit Bulls were genetically bred for killing. I adopted a Border Collie who was raised without training as a house dog with a small back yard. She had the typical herding instinct that Border Collies have. She would try to herd my niece and nephew as well as other animals without prompt or training. Border Collies were bred to work on a farm, just as Pit Bulls were bred to fight and kill.
