Early bloomers usually burn out after the first big accomplishment and can't recapture the magic.

I think that perception is caused by a misunderstanding about what child geniuses are and how IQ is measured in children. His IQ is genius level for a child but not for an adult. People simply expect that if the child had accelerated development so far they will continue to have extraordinary development into adulthood and become genius adults. But what happens is they simply reach their peak IQ sooner and their peers catch up to them.

Those accelerated kids then have to live up to unrealistic expectations while also losing out on a normal childhood.

They also, sometimes, don't learn about failure and challenges to work through.

Yes! I know a lot of people, mostly girls, who give up at the first hint of a challenge. Then they complain about depression.

Well that's because girls are raised to be fragile and manipulative in that way, and society plays along and not only lets them get away with it, but encourages it in all but name. Men are taught and expected to sacrifice their whole existence for the so-called "greater good", aka blind loyalty to human society.

As a result, many women become both extraordinarily timid, weak, unconfident, selfish and expert manipulators without even realizing it, with no bad intentions; moreover, they see themselves as weak and incapable, both a justification for demanding everything from others and discouraging them from independence and innovations, or even attempting a challenge. And men become unthinking unfeeling drones, which keeps them also from questioning the status quo. Then they each vote for politicians and leaders who suit these personalities.

Those are natural inclinations that occur in every society and you're way overstating them, anyway. Women evolved to get men to do things for them. Men evolved to take risks and sacrifice for the tribe in conflict or for resources.

I think I actually regressed quite a bit as I became an adult.

When I was 5 I had a 189 IQ. I was supposed to go to a school for smart kids, but my parents couldn't afford tuition. So I struggled with the normies in public school.

I had an IQ like that when I was that age. Now it's probably more like 60.

Skeptical, but good if true. We could certainly use more geniuses in the world.

I mean yeah its the dailymail, but statistically bound to happen once in a while in any demographic given enough samples

Good on this kid, but the timeline isn't matching up.

She was diagnosed with the developmental disability at the age of three after her speech significantly regressed

After enduring years of apathetic teachers and bullying from her classmates, which led to her changing schools three times

She finished elementary school at the age of five, according to Goalcast

Diagnosed at three, years of apathetic teachers, graduated at five. That's two years (likely much less) in order to squeeze in 'years of apathetic teachers' and then find the right school and speed run through all of elementary.

then finished middle and high school a year later.

She does 6 more grades in a year? I knew smart kids who skipped a grade, but how do you even test for proficiency in all required subjects in one year? The article seems... embellished.

Yeah...I enjoyed the story, but agree this is shoddy journalism

How do you figure? Average IQ differs very little by gender, but males have a significantly higher variance, meaning men are overrepresented in both the idiot and genius categories

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Females have higher IQ in almost all areas, but most never use it because they rarely have to in this society, so the results will never show it. Most women I know will flee at the first hint of a challenge, and often seem to fetishize their own daintiness. Men will do almost anything a woman wants without question, so there are no worries.

But if you look at the smartest of all...most of the elite are men, but the very top few are women; which tells me it's the few women who willingly put their talents to use who outperform all the men. What's more, almost all men can only be intelligent in very specific types of intelligence, whereas women are usually smart in all aspects.

I can personally say that I, and every boy I know of, lost a significant number of brain cells through puberty. I can no longer even begin to do most of the things I used to be super-talented at, and I don't figure things out as easily or think as clearly or learn as quickly. The girls did not experience this change.

It makes sense for a pre-civilized world. Think of the roles the sexes play in a hunter-gatherer society. All sexual dimorphism, both physical and mental, revolves around those roles.

I can personally say that I, and every boy I know of, lost a significant number of brain cells through puberty.

If this was the case, you would expect to see a significant change in relative gender IQ scores before and after puberty. IQ doesn't measure everything, but it measures enough that a change like you are hypothesizing should be observable. I am not aware of any such feature of the IQ testing data that would support this, though I don't claim to be an authoritative source

It definitely happened to me. And it seems to have happened to every other male I know.

einstein was a fraud.

"what scientists from franklin to morse were clear thinkers and did not produce erroneous theories. the scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. one must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.

today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments and they wander off through equation after equation and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality." - nikola tesla

Boom! When one guy gets lauded for making shit up, and the other gets persecuted by the govt and has all his shit stolen after he dies, that's a pretty clear indicator of who is on to something.
