The verb form of "boymode" i.e. "presenting as male".

A lot of trans will say they're "in girl mode" or "in boy mode" depending on how they're feeling/dressing that day.

I'm not sure making this more difficult to understand and follow is in their best interest... Were I to assume that they had their best interests at heart, rather than, say, wanting to make the process of understanding them more confusing in order to find things to be offended over.

I mean… I’m thinking it’s also short for “ugly boy mode” to “even uglier girl mode.” With so few people who identify as trans turn into anything that is even close to the real deal aesthetically speaking (as no one actually changes into the real deal).

I honestly figure that the people who transition and are legitimately happy with being an ugly version of the sex they identify as, are probably the real deal regarding dysphoria. Because so many of these people end up as Eldridge horrors and then are super salty about it. Because they didn’t identify as an ugly ass woman or man. They identified as some gorgeous babe or super Chad. …because for them, it’s just a weird ass fetish.

Trolls pretending to be trans for the lolz or kids who identify as trans and making up fiction on the internet for attention? My money is mostly on the latter. I don't think a lot of this is the traditional trolling. Though of course Poe's law applies.

Reddit I think you need to always take with a huge grain of salt. Text posts might be true but there's literally zero evidence that they actually happened. People just choose to believe them or not based on their own biases. But in the end it's just noise.

If this guy was in my family my response would be basically, "well no shit grandpa doesn't accept you, what did you think was going to happen?" But I have a zero bullshit from family policy these days. I'm not going to ban you from family gatherings because you think you're a woman now that doesn't change your familial status, but I'm not going to attempt to control how people respond to that, most of the family will think it's stupid, the older people will tell you to your face it's stupid because they don't gotta live with you for much longer and don't have time to be polite, and if you can't handle that then don't present as trans at family gatherings. I don't share my sexual habits at Thanksgiving dinner for just this reason.
