I really detest 9gag posts because it's shallow shit. Back in my chantard days I looked down on it as normie shit. But I've got to admit that the comments are always surprisingly politically incorrect. Was it always that way or did it change over time? I have a similar observation for Funnyjunk, the comments there are also good.

The 9GAG administration appears to be Zionists. They support Ukraine aggressively, and are anti Muslim.

The 9GAG icon is a 9 shaped 3D black cube.

Also, I think there's some symbolism in the 9GAG or 96∆6.

The community are mostly based. Plenty of red pill memes there.

Aren't mermaids meant to be beautiful and slender and alluring? I thought that they kind of shared that trait with Sirens - looking like beautiful, magical maids of the sea, only one sometimes helps sailors and the other universally lures them to their deaths.

When you've been on a small ship with dozens of other men for months, any woman is beautiful.

Makes sense that real life mermaids would be fat I think. Water is damn cold. Be like a walrus.

Ohh, good point! That being said, swimming is a great workout. Maybe "Fit-Fat"? You know, like 1920's boxers? All muscle and a layer of fat over it?

Probably. I don't think fat or weight would much bother an ocean creature since it doesn't have to walk so it would be evolutionary predisposed to gain more fat for warmth I think. Artic mermaids would probably look like Americans but sub tropical mermaids are more likely to fit the classic style.

And that's why The Little Mermaid was set in the Caribbean!

Which is extremely problematic if you think about it. They changed the setting just so they could justify their own fat phobia. They can't even imagine a story where a white prince married a walrus but it's fine to have a black prince marry a fish even though it's against black culture to swim. Just so ignorant.
