CNN has changed their minds about Bernie whenever the wind blows a different direction. The dems really want Biden to win. Sadly, he's too creepy and unrelatable to the younger dem voters. Dude was caught sniffing the hair of girls half his age. Multiple times. The debates happen and he's looking around like he got lost and wondered on stage. Dude looks like he doesn't want to be there compared to Bernie "I wrote the damn bill" Sanders. Dems want Biden because he'll tow the party line. Bernie terrifies them because he has said he would be willing to negotiate with both parties to help educate the next generation of Americans.

At the same time, they can't publicly denounce Bernie. Backlash from the "So, why do you hate women?" bullshit they tried to pull on him live on TV proved that wouldn't work.

The dems would rather have Bernie than Trump. Learned their mistake after choosing Hillary over Bernie last time.

That being said, they would really prefer Mr. Do Nothing Biden they can easily control as a puppet.

Eventually, and this is a vague projection; but if trends remained the same- there would not even be a world news section, a conspiracy section or anything organic within 10 more years of that site. The majority of internet comments or communities would be bots that have passed the turing tests for human interaction, real people and real comments could just be banned outright because the bots would be hostile against them. My friend asked me about this and there’s no way she’s shadowbanned. This is definitely my experience (wouldn’t be shocked if I’m shadow banned). I just assumed that they made the algorithm so deep that it’s now all just some vague guesstimate and/or they get that people do exactly what you are doing and specifically fuzz that type of user testing.

I’m certain there are people FAR more obsessive about figuring out the algorithm than you and I don’t 100% blame the site for staying one step ahead of the user for that. At the same time, it’s obvious that a significant amount of the content is manipulated to the whims of ownership so I really don’t angst about it much.

It’s their site and they can do what they want with it. Just so as everyone understands that (not saying most people do). At this point, it’s all just rather dishonest. I think the days of the slashdot model may just be coming to a close. Someone will come up with a more individual user-tailored solution.
