Think you understand evaporation? Think again, says MIT

Water molecules have quite a number of different vibrational modes, so the absorption mechanism could be quite complex. The energy of a single photon of green light is somewhere around 2.18–2.37 eV (depending on the hue of green). So there is more than enough spare energy in the light for evaporation, depending on the absorption mechanism. Doing some quick number-crunching shows that the latent heat of vaporisation for water is 0.423 eV per molecule. This is actually quite high compared to most liquids.

What the MIT team discovered is that light in the visible spectrum is enough to knock water molecules loose at the surface where it meets air and send them floating away. In other words, while it's true that evaporation has been happening all of these years due to fluctuations in temperature, water has also been turning to vapor from the force of light beams alone. The source was CNN, "The Most Trusted Name in News", as they say. Ironically, many people around the world have little to no trust in CNN. Just ask the people of North Korea, Iran, Russia, China, Syria, Venezuela, and Belarus what they think of CNN. They push what they want the people to believe. I guess they want people to be afraid of milk and cows.

As you said, there does seem to be a plan to remove our access to meat, eggs, and dairy. I suspect it is to starve people into submission.... The New World Order.... The Beast system.... Those that refuse the mark of the beast will not be allowed to buy or sell. The choice will appear to be: submit or starve.

But those that trust in the Lord shall be satisfied.... It's a big test of faith for those still here in that time. Will you sell your soul for a bowl of bug protein? Or be faithful to the Lord, and receive his help?

I would like for all the technology to be used only for good, but we live in the adversary's world. The truth is always under attack. Man's will determines how long the truth remains pure. Because men are typically greedy and do not have a strong desire for truth, the propaganda and shills take over regardless of which technology is used. Even before technology and the recorded word, when people spoke only face to face, people would lie and deceive one another using the spoken word.

One of the things I appreciate about Saidit is the option to mark people as "friends". We can limit what we see to some extent by marking those that we suspect share truth.... and are not shills, PSYOP soldiers, or even soulless AI bots. But again, there are few men who have a strong desire for truth.... most allow some untruths to reside in their heart, so there are few who can be trusted 100%, even among "friends".

There is one friend who sticks closer than a brother who is the Truth, and he can always be trusted. He gave his life as evidence that he would never deny the truth. He has been proclaiming his truth before all of man's technology.

You're surprised Redditors are some of the shittiest people alive? These MF'ers tried to dox me on a job subreddit years ago because I asked a question about job hiring. Had absolutely nothing to do with politics or saying anything offensive and they literally went out of their way unprovoked to dig up three years worth of back-post history to find out I "supported Donald Trump" by voting for him, and didn't like the idea of transpeople teaching kids in schools and libraries. And they tried to dox me on the sub for that, to get me fired. But they got my name wrong and was off by a mile. Oh, and this was a fucking moderator who did it. I was shocked they'd go to that extreme because all I did was ask a simple question. They assumed I "must be evil" and probably spent more than an hour to smear me, when I had never interacted with any of them before this. It was beyond malicious and unnecessary.

Seriously. I will say 100% that Redditors are some of the few non-violent people I would have no problem seeing murdered ("hypothetically.") They are literally some of the most cruel, vicious, insane, extreme-left people I've ever dealt with in my life. And they permeate every aspect of the site, even non-political subs. The fact they were willing to do that implies to me they're likely psychopaths, pedos, or rapists in real life. Not even literal sociopaths are as immoral as Redditors and Reddit mods.

So yeah, no shit they'd be happy about doxxing and death-threatening people, then PRETENDING to disapprove of it while cheering it on. Everyone's forgotten about it, but these are the same people who drove porn stars to suicide because they didn't want to get STD's from homosexual degenerates in their career. Then cheered and partied once they was dead, but still act like they're the "good guys." Here's the same waste of semen who started that post you linked, laughing about her own dad's misery in another post, by the way. Bet you everything I have she's a "blue-hair" (fourth wave feminist.)

  1. Expecting any level of morality or decency on Reddit, is retarded enough itself to already be an active member of modern-day Reddit.

  2. Every society needs its boogeymen. Whether it be justified, like with Nazis in the past, or unjustified, like with "conservatives and Trump supporters" or "Russia" nowadays.

  3. The most judgmental people are often the most shitty. I myself judge actions and behaviors ("hate the sin, not the sinner"), but awful people often judge people as awful. As long as you're not a kid-diddler, molester, rapist, scammer, felon, cheater, or abuser, I can't really hate you as a person.

  4. Inceldom is becoming normalized in modern society, but under slightly different names and (let's just say) 'less pathetic' identities. The Red Pill, MGTOW, The Manosphere, Anti-wokeness, Passport Bros, or just simply not putting up with awful women's shit anymore. The word didn't have the same negative connotations as it did back in 2016, when I heard every shitstain female student on my campus using "incel" and "pick-me-girl" every other word.

I think the main reason Eugenics never takes off is because the application of it is, almost universally and by necessity, monstrous. In theory you can look at it and say: "Well, if we just ask people with genetic markers that suggest their child would have a serious disability to adopt instead of breed, we'll be fine"... But what do you do to enforce that law? If someone has a child without your permission, do you kill it? Do you kill babies and then claim to be the good guy? Do you make the parents impotent and barren? Do you chemically force a person to be unable to breed with anyone else under any circumstances and then give yourself a gold medal? Do you just lock the parents up, and if you do, do you just toss the kid into the foster care system? Do you effectively orphan a child and ruin it's life in the name of not creating children who will have ruined lives?

If you don't do one of these things, do you have a law in place at all? There's no repercussions and nothing stopping people from disobeying. You basically have a very strong suggestion.

So in order to perform Eugenics you, essentially, have to start by agreeing to be a monster, even if you're doing it with all the best intentions, and once you're considered a monster, people will want to take away your authority to continue doing what you're doing, and now you have to be an even greater monster if you want to continue by doing it against the will of the people. That means tyranny.

There aren't a lot of people who will sign up to be hated and reviled and almost inevitably removed from their position unless they are willing to try and become a tyrant who rules through violence knowing that it's liable to end poorly for them even if they had the absolute best of intentions... And then there's also the aftermath:

Okay, so you're in power and you're passing down laws to decide who can and cannot breed. You're doing it because you love humanity and you want it to have a bright future free of certain diseases, mental illnesses and deficiencies of thought that you've identified are passed down genetically. You're the Knight Of Infinite Resolve and you're doing your thing... But when you retire, or are killed, or just leave power some other way, what about the next guy? With this law of breeding in place, what if he just decides: "Well hell, I just really hate the Koreans and their KPop bullshit, and also people with that frizzy hair crap. Those guys can't have babies now."?

In theory it seems straight forward, but in practice it's a minefield and it never ends well. It's like Communism. If I said to you: "Let's all just share everything. That way if the country is doing well, we're all doing well, but when we all need to pitch in, there aren't people who are still doing great and others who are suffering!"... But then you end up with a Citizenship Score and your husband is the in the gulag for thinking out loud and the mayor is living in a mansion with a different car for every day of the week while you get rationed a single turnip per working family member and you come to understand that things which seem good in theory can be much more difficult to action once 7.5 billion other people all get involved by being alive and having their own wants and desires... Damn them!

Honestly the only subs that are good are ones that are niche and stay on purpose. As soon as you allow it to stray slightly that's when the rot sets in. It is funny to see them whine that their trans meme got removed from a completely irrelevant sub though. Then see the complain that their post about that got removed for also being off topic. Wish I could remember which sub I saw that in but that mod team was fucking gold for just telling them that no one cares and it's not what the sub is for.

Probably drew attention and got AHSed. Still wild that that sub is still up despite them breaking all the rules.

But in the west, Israel needs zero evidence for their claims (no matter how many times they are caught lying) but all the evidence in the world is not enough for Palestinian claims.

You have given reasoning behind your opinions but I find your last one hard to take seriously.

Meanwhile in Russia the army has so many volunteers that they almost don't know what to do with them.

Then why are they increasing the sign-on bonuses and reaching far out into the Russian-controlled territories (and beyond) to find recruits? My sources say that even in Moscow, men do not want to go to Ukraine because they know they will be thrown into the front lines in the classic Russian meat-grinder scenario. Throw bodies at the enemy until they run out of ammo.

"Well most people under 40 don't trust the TV news" if that were true the internet experience would be much more pleasant than it is, believe me. Just look at all the reddiors and tiktok users who believe any clickbait headline (without actually clicking) and go straight to comment wars. Perceptions of innocent people are ruined, misinformation spreads just as easily as before if not more. Nothing's changed. Young people are as gullible as facebook boomers.

Trivial example to show how much people can't be arsed to check the validity of information themselves: I play an online dating sim for girls where the credits are accessible in one click. Dissatisfied with the writing of some scenes, people started claiming that it's because it was a full-male team in charge of the writing, despite the credits clearly showing that there was only one man while the rest are women. One click, and they can't bother to double check the info. People would rather take everything at face value than do a 2 minutes google search, even with all the fact-checking sites available now.

Bradleys most certainly changed the course of the war. It's not always about firepower, either. This war is showing how all tanks are being defeated with drones. We're in a new era of warfare. Like u/Dune1032 stated, Ukraine is being used, in part, as a testing ground for old (and probably some new, un-reported) technologies for the U.S. with no official troop losses for the U.S.

The US will be supplying Ukraine with more ATACMS. This will force Russia to move their supply depots further back making it difficult to sustain an attack.

Russian air defense is more than capable of shooting down anything and everything Ukraine can fire at them, especially ATACMS. Even the dreaded Stormshadows have gone from a serious threat to a minor threat as the Russians have learned how to destroy them. Not every single missile, but enough to prevent Ukraine from doing major damage.

When those ATACMSes get close enough to the front line to actually threaten Russian forces, they will be destroyed, just like the previous batch of ATACMSes.

Ukrainian pilots should be trained on the F-16 soon eliminating Russian air superiority.

The F-16 is not a bad plane at all, and in the hands of capable pilots with many years of experience, they would almost be peer to the Su-35, but in no way is it superior to the Su-35 in combat. The SU-35 has already proven itself to out-class the F-16 in Taiwan. The SU-35 can blind the radar of F-16s, including the much-vaunted AESA, and force the F-16 pilot to retreat with his tail between his legs. The SU-35 is faster, more manoeuvrable, has a longer range and a much higher ceiling, it carries more weapons including potentially hypersonic missiles that the US cannot match. It can engage the F-16 from much further away than the F-16 can engage them back, and it has a smaller radar cross-section than the F-16.

But those F-16s aren't going to survive long enough to face off against SU-35s. They're going to be chewed to bits by Russian missiles long before that. Why do you think the Russians didn't put their pilots in the sky earlier, before they smashed the Ukrainian air defense? The same applies now, but in reverse.

Those Ukrainian F-16 pilots are dead men walking. Poor fuckers 😞

The Russians are not making huge gains as you claim.

Clausewitz on the purpose of war: "The aim of war should be the defeat of the enemy. But what constitutes defeat? The conquest of his whole territory is not always necessary, and total occupation of his territory may not be enough."

Russia is bleeding Ukraine to death, and demilitarising NATO. And they are doing so with remarkably few losses themselves considering the nature of modern war. They have already taken around one fifth of Ukraine's territory, and will take more when Ukraine is depleted of men and munitions.

You think Russians like fighting for Putin?

Ukraine has to send press squads into the streets to literally kidnap any man who is desperate enough to step outside of his house. They are begging the rest of Europe to deport the Ukrainian men who fled the country back. Meanwhile in Russia the army has so many volunteers that they almost don't know what to do with them. Especially after Ukraine started terrorist attacks against Russian towns and civilians. And that doesn't include the non-military volunteers contributing to the war effort.

They're being withdrawn because they're shit that cannot survive in a modern battlefield against a peer adversary. Even the Houthis were able to defeat them.

This war has been such an embarrassment to the west. Every single of their Wunderwaffen have turned out to under-perform badly. Patriots can't shoot down missiles -- never have, never will. The only confirmed kills they have in something like 30 years is two friendly fire incidents where they shot down fighter planes on their own side 😂

Challengers are so poorly suited to Ukrainian conditions that they have hardly seen combat at all. Bradleys are not bad but aren't going to change the course of the war. Abrams burn just as well as Leopards, but cost more and perform worse. Stormshadows started off well but the Russians adapted to them and now they're just so-so. American 155mm artillery tubes wear out after just a week of combat, or at least they would if the Ukrainians had any 155mm shells left to fire.

And NATO training is only good for getting people killed -- and I don't mean the enemy.
