I just... Is it just me, or is it insanely creepy to change your appearance to the point there is almost no trace of, well, yourself left?

I just don't understand how they can deal with such a huge change. Isn't it disturbing? How do you not go mad? Aaaah, body modifications creep me out in general but this is on a whole another level. Tell me again how this is supposed to alleviate issues with identity. When there is such a distinction between "I am" and "I was", so much that the past stops being "I" even. How do they call it, a "dead name"? A dead self. How does this help identity issues??!

[–]Destresse🇨🇵 27 insightful - 2 fun27 insightful - 1 fun28 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Sorry I'm very upset, this strikes a very personal chord. But you know what's wrong in my life right now? I can't reconcile my child self with my adult self. And I mean I am not able to, because I have partial amnesia. From 0 to 5 years old, I got nothing. I am told I was this and that way, and that I completely changed around 5, and I don't remember.

Guess where my identity and dissociative issues come from? Yeah, that's right. From whatever trauma I went through, that I erased from my mind. I won't ever get better as long as I don't remember. I know that from deep within myself. So this?

Whatever starts the gender dysphoria, enabling the symptoms should not even be considered. It is not considered in any other mental illness. These people will never get better as long as they keep their past and present self cut off from each other, and everyone is encouraging that with glee.

Most people don't remember much if anything at all from the age of 0-5, though. The older you get the more you become unable to consciously access earlier memories. That's not a form of amnesia, that's just how the brain works. Same with how it become harder to recall information the longer it goes unaccessed.

[–]Destresse🇨🇵 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that's how most people work. That's not the case for me, I have a freakishly good memory. That blank isn't recent either.

I know you're looking out for me to make sure I don't make a mountain out of a molehill, and that's nice of you. But I do have reasons to believe it has significance

Sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up. I'm not actually willing to get that personal haha

I'm not sure if that's accurate... 0-2 years old, definitely. But 3-5 years old it becomes much easier to actually retain memories. That is what I was taught in college anyway.

Worth mentioning though, LGB people have an elevated risk for going through childhood trauma, so that might be what she is referring to. But it's hard to tell for sure online.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Are you able to access mental healthcare? Have you tried talking with a therapist about this?

[–]reluctant_commenter 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Hey, you don't have to apologize, your points are accurate and your experience is your own! I also suffered some severe childhood trauma, at a young age. I feel that if I had been caught by the transgender trend just a few years younger, I might have thought it to be the solution to my own struggles with selfhood-- and that's a scary thought.

[–]powpowpowpow 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Sometimes people change themselves so they don't resemble their parents if they have deep rooted issues with them. Sometimes they also suffered with some type of sexual abuse and change themselves to run away from that memory or they are just obsessive and addicted to body modification. It is really weird and to me it is harmful to normalize this behavior.

[–]reluctant_commenter 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

It is really weird and to me it is harmful to normalize this behavior.

To be fair, it is a pretty understandable reaction to trauma-- but it's not a healthy one, which is one of the fundamental issues with transgender ideology. It goes against decades of research to suggest that destroying and erasing your "old self" is healthy for you and that addressing your issues head-on is unhealthy... this is just hiding and exacerbating mental illness.

[–]powpowpowpow 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Yeah it is understandable 100% but as you said, it isn't healthy which is why I wish it wasn't normalized/encouraged, so yea ig i didn't make myself clear in my previous comment as to why I find it problematic

They get off (euphoria) on being called f@gs and getting hiv tests. That's how they think of gay men, so it serves to validate their identity. It's similar to how AGP transwomen get off on being cat-called and getting a gynecologist to examine them.

I feel like a lot of these women want gay men because they have this idea in their head of a cute relationship they read about in manga comics or think this is the only way to get a 'sensitive' guy who will be their bff/gay best friend. there was a woman on twitter who posted a pic like this, she was cute before the hormones and probably could have got any guy she wanted but instead she had her breasts removed, took hormones and then went on twitter complaining about gay men not wanting her even though she looks like a man and nobody will date her, like, she just doesn't get that gay men want real men. you may look like a man but without a functional penis you're looking at being in the friend zone. so many of these young women and girls are destroying their bodies to be something they will never become.

[–]pacmanla 25 insightful - 2 fun25 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Vice versa with transwomen (males) as well. I also don't understand the encouragement of the delusion game. When these individuals get into the real world where people are dating & having sexual relationships based on sex/biology & not "identity", then what. All this pontificating, trying to shame, bully, or just whine, won't change nature. People are just not into modified bodies of individuals who are portraying a sex they're not. Also, one theory of mine is that the human brain on a subconscious level, don't like deception. No matter how much these individuals "pass", the brain knows it's a deception. I honestly believe, people really hate this & it's very weird to see someone born male or female go out of their way to resemble a sex they're not.

[–]oofreesouloo⚡super lesbian⚡ 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And the craziest thing is that they're going after us, homosexuals! People who have been told all our lives that we should "try" the opposite sex and that our same sex attraction is "weird" or somehow "abnormal". They'll repeat the same homophobic rhetoric to us we've always heard

Oh, I'm quite sure of this: if you sense that someone is trying to deceive you, the natural reaction is discomfort and distrust... and so it should be! As per Gavin de Becker's self-defense advice in his classic The Gift of Fear! Trying to fool you is NOT a good sign. And we oughtta heed it.

That we WILL detect this deception also seems like a pretty safe bet, since recognizing its own sexes is basic to every animal species. Cuz their survival depends on it. We're still around (so far), which means that we must be pretty good at it. Don't like it, trans-cultists? Then take it up with evolution, the planet-wide process that selected for this ability... and doesn't give a single solitary shit about "gender", pronouns, or any of your other asinine notions.

[–]Seahorse 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head.

They want to have sex with men but not as a "woman" because they feel degraded. So they think that presenting as a "gay man" will not be degrading.

Porn, anime and online society are a lot to blame for this. And probably a whole lot of trauma.

[–]MarkJeffersonTight defenses and we draw the line 29 insightful - 2 fun29 insightful - 1 fun30 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Her torso is way too short in comparison to her legs. You can't overcome your biology. This becomes even more obvious the more distractions(hair) are removed. FTM "gays" don't ever shave their bodies, and we all know why.

[–][deleted] 26 insightful - 2 fun26 insightful - 1 fun27 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Yeah I think people really struggle to get this. The person's frame doesn't change much. Like a transwoman will always have fairly narrow hips and broad shoulders, a broad forehead and jaw etc. People can't shrink. And I guess in the case of a transman, you can't grow once you're an adult.

[–]deliciousdogfoodmy name isnt a puppyplay reference i swear 27 insightful - 2 fun27 insightful - 1 fun28 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

They don't struggle to get this. They use it as an excuse to trans kids and fuck with their natural puberty because otherwise it's "too late". Despite the fact that kids getting out of puberty and coming to accept themselves is the real danger to the trans agenda.

[–]purrvana 22 insightful - 3 fun22 insightful - 2 fun23 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

"Passing" in a handpicked image is one thing. Could this person pass in person, or when hearing them talk? They certainly couldn't pass in the bedroom.

[–]8bitgay 16 insightful - 2 fun16 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

when hearing them talk

I've watched a few transman "gay" porn videos. Not a fun experience but in the end of the day I want to be able to understand what I'm criticizing.

Many of these videos start with the bodies (so not showing faces) and frankly I just thought they were regular straight porn. It often just looks like the guy is having sex with a flat chested woman. You only realize it's supposed to be "gay" porn when the camera moves to show the face.

But no matter what, all of them have voices that are so clearly of a woman. And sure, many men also have feminine voices, and obviously there's the stereotype of gay men with a feminine voice. But still, the difference between a feminine male voice and a female voice is quite obvious.

There's also the opposite situation. Many "straight" videos of a guy having sex with a transwoman looks like the guy is having sex with a shaved twink, if you look at the scenes that don't show the faces.

Possibly that the smaller brow-bone (female secondary-sex characteristic) makes them look too prominent?

I was a bit too intrigued and watched porn videos of men with "trans men", and I will say that I noticed a difference in the way men fuck "trans men" versus women... so if a hetero woman becomes a "trans man", her sexual experiences could improve with men.
