AL has two modes:

  1. Who's downvoting my posts?!
  2. It's time for our hourly affirmation of transwomen!

Imagine thinking "TERF" and "Lesbian" are synoynms. That just seems insulting to women as a whole, tbh. I mean not that the use of "TERF" in this context is justified in meaning, but my point is lesbian =/= radfem and vice versa

[–]florasisHOMOSEXUAL FEMALE/Pussy is my God and I'm monotheist 25 insightful - 7 fun25 insightful - 6 fun26 insightful - 7 fun -  (0 children)

Well, yeah, for them they are, because female homosexuality automatically excludes dicks. Homosexuality reminds them they're not actual women.

[–]VioletRemiCat, homosexual one 23 insightful - 6 fun23 insightful - 5 fun24 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

Sadly, it is what they are thinking. Any lesbian calling about her explicit love to natal women is called terf and banned there. If you are not accepting penises - you are terf by their moderator standarts. And no lesbian is accepting penises. So...

[–]FrostyNugsI'm allergic to nuts 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, it's insulting as fuck to paint all lesbians as radical feminists and is just the modern iteration of that old tired stereotype that all lesbians are man hating feminists. Of course TRAs are homophobic as fuck so they can't distinguish the concepts of hating men and just not wanting to fuck them.

Transwomen, please stop waving your dicks in lesbians’ faces and taking over our spaces. It makes us feel bad. Oh, that’s not going to happen? Aight, we’ll keep downvoting.

Because of course trans can't write anything wrong, that is not bad post, it is just terfs brigading!

Not even members of the sub, but of the very group! Lesbians can't voice their opinions otherwise they get expelled and called ~witches~ terves

The comment about banning the only lesbian sub and how those lesbians (TERFs) have all gone to AL has me laughing. I think most people went FROM AL to TrueLesbians and not the other way around.

Anyways, they were always complaining that trans posts were being downvoted when TrueLesbians was still a thing. Maybe, just maybe, it's not TERFs doing it. 🤔

[–]julesburm1891 25 insightful - 2 fun25 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

TQ has built TERFs up as some big, bad group of others to blame for everything. Yet, they’ve never once considered that lesbians simply aren’t into transwomen and that most of us don’t want them around at all. (Even if we’re fake nice in conversation.)

[–]TarshishJupiterpolitically homeless 21 insightful - 9 fun21 insightful - 8 fun22 insightful - 9 fun -  (1 child)

Guilty as charged, lol. I still hang out on AL sometimes and I generally downvote trans posts. I'm not a brigader - I contribute to the community.

[–]FrostyNugsI'm allergic to nuts 12 insightful - 7 fun12 insightful - 6 fun13 insightful - 7 fun -  (0 children)

You're stronger than I am. I can only scroll through about 5 of the stale tumblr memes from 2016 and TWAW pass it on fuck terfs posts until I get a headache

[–]Three_oneFourWanted for thought crimes in countless ideologies 20 insightful - 6 fun20 insightful - 5 fun21 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

They couldn't even get the definitions of empathy and sympathy straight, let alone an ounce of biology or logic

And the bully politics the mods use: user and moderator transgenderpride says "oh, we'll instantly permaban any real lesbians, those terfs!"

Can we delete their subs already? Is anyone good at hacking?

I can't see how this is a problem, after all, trans pity posts quickly get a suspicious amount of upvotes, often even making it to the front page of Reddit.

It's more than likely that they use bots or burner accounts to make trans posts so highly upvoted. A while ago I was browsing an obscure music subreddit, never many users online at one time. Smaller than this sub, even. Anyway one day a MTF posted a "cover" of a song, and it was legitimately the worst thing ever. He couldn't sing. He slurred as if he was on some strong substance. The "music video" was just a man swaying while wearing pink fairy wings. It was objectively awful. Yet, this guy had delusions of grandeur, his account name as (Name)Official, like he thought he was hot shit enough to have an impostor account. He constantly referred to himself as "The first transgender pop singer" or "The only transgender pop singer" and would often talk about himself in the third person, like he was his own management/marketing team promoting him. He'd also call himself things like "Heartthrob" and "sexy" even though nobody knew who this dude was, he had like 3 videos and all were terrible covers.

Anyway, it was unsurprising that it got downvoted, because it was trash. However, shortly after I downvoted it, it recieved a ton of upvotes in minutes, more upvotes than users were currently online. Less than positive comments also got mass downvoted in a short span of time. Out of curiosity I kept watching the page in old reddit (so I could see the % of upvoted) and over the course of the rest of the day the post would drop down to 0 but then go back up to 20+ several times. I have no other explanation other than this guy upvoting himself by use of a bunch of alt accounts because both the comments and the final vote showed that the members of the small sub did not like it.

Back to front page reddit trans attention grab posts, remember that Reddit, especially front page reddit, is not only primarily male but primarily STRAIGHT male. (Else why would tons of whiny posts about how women are catty cheating crazy bitches and how they can't get a GF constantly swarm the front page?) So think about it, why would MTF selfies get so much upvotes from straight males? The answer is that they don't. You'll often see this on frequent front page subs where there is a trans related post, if you sort by controversial, a HUGE chunk of anti-trans or skeptical comments will be downvoted or deleted. So I don't think the majority of Reddit is pro-trans and likes seeing dozens of greasy, balding men in ill-fitting anime cosplay wigs; MTFs just abuse the upvote system by alt accounts and vote-jerking off eachother.

[–]julesburm1891 20 insightful - 2 fun20 insightful - 1 fun21 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

This. I’m also convinced trans subs brigade anything critical of trans issues as well as several things tangentially related to trans people. I’d been suspicious ever since my gf and I saw a post about transparent washing machines. One of the top comments was an MTF complaining that they were unfair because they could out closeted trans people to their families. It was such a bizarre comment on its own, but seeing it at the top of something completely unrelated to trans people was exceptionally weird.

However, after the “trans men are valid gay men” post in AGB got upvoted over 10k times, my suspicions were confirmed. That sub has been clear time and time again about where they stand. Such a radical departure from that overnight leaves no doubt in my mind that brigading is happening.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s a combination of burner accounts and brigades.

transparent washing machines

For the longest time I couldn't parse the word 'transparent'. Trans-parent? Is that someone with a trans child? Or someone who is trans who is themselves a parent? Why are their washing machines so special?

[–]julesburm1891 12 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

“Come on, boys. I see a word with the prefix ‘trans’ that has nothing to do with trans people. You know what that means.”

But, really, I didn’t even notice that until you pointed it out.

LOL dying at the implication that TrueLesbians was made up of straight women pretending to be lesbians. So much projection, but at least they recognize that we’re the actual women. But being a woman who isn’t into penis makes us straight in their minds. K.

Can someone explain to me what the term 'sapphic' means? Sappho, Greek poet, sure, but... what? Is it just 'intellectually genderspecial'?

[–]VioletRemiCat, homosexual one 14 insightful - 5 fun14 insightful - 4 fun15 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

It is old synonym to word "lesbian". And as all words that are rarely used, specian non-binary snowflakes are trying to give it new meaning to mean something absolutely different and new. Now it means something like "I liked women or someone who presented as woman at least once".

[–][deleted] 12 insightful - 2 fun12 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It's sort of like "wlw" in that it bunches bi / pan / gay women together into one group. You can be sapphic / wlw as long as you've found at least one woman attractive the entire time you've been alive.

It's also a way to get rid of "lesbian" as a group and dissolve them into women who like men.

[–]RedditHatesLesbiansHomosexual Not Queer[S] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It's a term for bisexual women with internalised biphobia to use instead of bisexual to describe their attraction, from what I've seen. It's synonymous with lesbian used as an adjective but it's generally used as a more umbrella term for womanly love for women, and of course fits snugly into queer theory because they can make it include transwomen.
