Kind of cool, since we have no evidence of an Egyptian civilization as old as that.

Yep.

But how long would it take for rainfall to weather 3 to 4.5 feet deep channels. Not one or two in specific locations, but all over the body, and the enclosure walls.

The bedrock was carved away (down) to form the sphinx's body.
The enclosure walls have the same water erosion pattern.

The head rises above the bedrock level.

Envision a small meandering stream that's is located in a limestone valley.

If this small stream flows along a section of bedrock, then how many years of near-continuous flow would it take to erode 3-4.5 feet?

That's continuous flow.

How many years of seasonal rain cycles would it take to erode these grooves into the sphinx and it's enclosure???

It would take tens of thousands of years of rainfall. Easily.

Probably more.

I'm being pedantic here but the French pronunciation is /bɔʃ/ (short o and rhymes with mosh). Also, the same pronunciation as Bosch, as in the fancy German whitegoods brand (or the painter).

Cede technically owns most of the publicly issued stock in the United States.[3] Thus, most investors do not themselves hold direct property rights in stock, but rather have contractual rights that are part of a chain of contractual rights involving Cede.[4] Securities held at Depository Trust Company are registered in its nominee name, Cede & Co., and recorded on its books in the name of the brokerage firm through which they were purchased; on the brokerage firm's books they are assigned to the accounts of their beneficial owners.[5]

Cede owns 83% of all issued stocks in the United States. [6] The other 17% of all issued stocks is owned by directly registered holders through the direct registration system.

I can find nothing wrong with his critiques

I can; here are two :

  • The pop psychology of "They're all raging narcissists"

  • The lumping of 'clean energy' and 'climate change' in with Ukraine and LGBT rights. I somewhat take his point that climate change can be used to advance nefarious agendas but he gets way too close to open hostility to 'clean energy', in my view. Which I find is a common failing of many ppl I otherwise agree with in their criticism of the neoliberal/neocon agenda.

There are good points made in this essay but the neat framing in a kind of 'Just So' story is too simplistic for my liking.

You know as well as I that many conspiracy narratives are propagated by the CIA exactly to make people look ridiculous. In the past you shared a three hour long video about flat earth, and when you got called out for it, you said it was simply for people's consideration. Well, I watched the whole thing till the end. The problem is that if absurd statements are made, the whole source is unreliable. That experience made me more skeptical of the stuff you post. What's the point in posting a video if you can't trust anything that's being said?

I'm going to invent a term here. Not sure if it's been used before but... Scientific and medical organizations are experiencing tautological capture. For anyone who has seen Idiocracy, it's exactly like the electrolytes conversion just here you have a politically correct position formed that "trans" is a marginalized community and needs special privileges. You get autistic screeching aimed at some marginal organization until they get nervous of offending HR somewhere and they change a definition. TRAs then point at the change in definition as proof that their bullshit is real and the next organization experiences autistic screeching while being pointed to the previous definition change until they flip and so on and so on.

The problem is that there is no starting point to the change in decisions other than "the science is settled". Why is the science settled? Because this organization said so. Why did they say so? Because the science is settled.

But a lot of the remainder would cast their vote more strategically if he were an independent and his opponent had a history of criminal activity, leveraging the presidential pardon to free his criminal network, attempting to subvert the democratic process, and giving the state rights over the people's wombs.

Does anyone?

Neither party means anything, they are just two place holders for opposition that attempts to sway a little over half the country.

Now there are people in charge trying to dictate what that ~50% thinks and often heavily manipulates primaries, but Democrat abd Republican don't actually really mean anything.

Liberal means something, and that something is definitely not what the modern Democrat party represents.

Conservative means something, and MAGA Republicans don't really all practice that either.

A republic and a democracy both have meanings too, but they also have no specific association with the parties of the same name.

I agree with the basic premise of the article, I just think the finger needs to be pointing at Uncle Sam, not the caricature Dr. Evil and his henchmen at the WEF.

Sometimes they do it openly

Hey who knows, maybe if they reached the 2nd line they'd discover that there's nothing there and would be free to advance with no resistance whatsoever!

But of course since that's not happening... any fiction would work.

All because Americans didn't send everything they own or can borrow or steal in order to save democracy and the world :'(

What a shame.

As a teacher there simply isn’t enough money in the world to make me want to cane a child. So even if there was corporal punishment I’d never apply it nor send a child for it.

I honestly don't really have a issue with this viewpoint, but being in school when it was a thing (well the belt, not caning) and I only got it once the embarrassment of getting it far outstripped any momentary pain it caused.

Hell one of the lest likely teachers to actually give the belt in the high school (from what I heard of) I went to was a teacher that on the first day would sit a full bit of chalk on a desk (standing up ) and turn it to dust with one whack of the belt.

But I am not saying it needs to be brought back, just that it might be better if it was still a option.

Please, Poland, submit an official extradition request. As we learned from the Meng Wanzhou affair, extraditions in Canada are purely a matter of law and order, with no political interference whatsoever. So if you submit a valid request, Canada should immediately arrest him and begin proceedings to hand him over.

See, this is why I can't be a politician. I would have stood in front of the old fuck and given him 3 solid "Sieg Heil!" salutes. Just to see if he would respond in kind.

Or Elensky. They're saying Elensky gave him a fist pump or some shit. Watch the video, he gave him the arm-out Nazi salute, slightly abbreviated so he could maintain some deniability.

I would like to recommend "The King of Ypres" by John Buchan, best known for his Richard Hannay novels The Thirty-Nine Steps and Greenmantle. The story takes place in WWI in the Belgian city of Ypres (pronounced "Wipers" by the Brits), the scene of many terrible WWI battles and one Monty Python sketch. The hero is a Scottish private who awakes to find that the rest of his battalion has departed and the city is lawless. Being a Scot, he's not one to back down from a fight and does what he can to restore order. I think it's a really good yarn.

There's a wee bit of Scots dialect, but you'll probably get by. The "Boches" are the Germans -- I've always heard it pronounced the French way as "boash", both singular and plural.

It's the last story in this outstanding Buchan collection, with terrific stories of devilry and fiends, mostly in strong Scots dialect. Wiktionary.org is pretty good for definitions. Here's the collection at Gutenberg: The Watcher by the Threshold.
