Sorry, I'm confused, and I'm not sure whether my confusion is due to gender identity mental gymnastics or my lack of familiarity with drag queens.

This person is:

  • a transman, i.e. bio female

  • entering on Ru Paul's drag show, ostensibly for men to dress up as woman ("womanface")

  • ...so this is a woman, who thinks she is a man, who is dressing up as a woman.

One quick clarification-- this user actually posted on r/MtF that they are trans and "fully transitioned": https://archive.is/FdT5u

I suppose they could be FtM but it seems unlikely, given that they claim to be a lesbian.

Simultaneously, they say:

I know I'm not a trans man but sometimes I feel like a straight dude in a lesbian's body... and it makee me feel icky.

No, you are not a transman... you're an actual man. It's like he's LARPing as a lesbian so hard that he now feels pressured to transition to a man, like lesbians are.

This is beyond ridiculous.

What is this fucking headline lol. "LGBTQ+ Member" like it's a gym card he picked up on the way home from work. Hahahaha

And what did we learn about this person, hmm? He could be trans (am I using the wrong pronouns?). He could be gay, he could be bisexual, he could be asexual, he could be demisexual, he could be genderfluxspecialsexual, he could be a furry, he could be a straight person who's recognized that literally the entire planet is "nonbinary" if you actually follow that definition to its logical conclusion and decided to believe it. The word "queer" includes literally everything and every person.

Pun intended? It was just such a strange attempt at an insult.

I think it is supposed to be an insult about being white, since in many countries, white people eat less spicy food and are more sensitive to it. They think we are all white. Which is also funny given that the AL demographics survey showed that like 80-90% of their sub is white, hahaha.

You mean r/transSubreddit#99999?

I'm kind of bothered by how stereotypical it is, though. Like the muscle-arm image and "bro BRO BRO". You can't make someone a man by invoking a bunch of gender stereotypes.

I think this puzzles me most about the transgender rights movement, actually. They say that gender is innate and an inner feeling. So why on earth do they look to outside validation? If it truly comes from within, then no amount of external validation in the world will make you accept yourself. It is like me saying, "I need everyone to tell me lots of nice things about myself and then it'll be easy for me to feel validated." When really, it is going to be hard no matter what for someone to accept themself.

Forcing others to use your preferred pronouns.. if gender identity was really "innate" and independent of cultural influence, then why would people using your preferred pronouns make a difference?

edit: Also, to be fair, straight non-trans males calling each other "bro" doesn't make them any more of a man, either, lol.

And I’m also weirded out by the amount of straight trans men complaining that they can’t find other straight trans men? There are certainly more of us that are straight than gay.

Would love to see actual statistics on this, not just anecdotes. I wish sex researchers who study AGP would even consider the possibility of AAP existing... but noooo, women are too "pure" to have fetishes...

Idk, it just seems like some of these guys are homophobic (specifically to us) and won’t own up to it.

I couldn't help laughing out loud reading this. Straight woman accuses gay women with internalized homophobia of being homophobic towards the straight woman. What an irony of ironies. It truly feels like the world is one cosmic joke sometimes.

Lots of good comments - it all boils down to internalized homophobia and transphobia that dudes don't check themselves on.

"We're all DUDES here, okay? Dudes!" If people's sex were determined on the basis of how often they say "dude," then I would be the manliest man of all men.

The more likely interpretation of this data is that trans women are the “incoherent social construct”, given that men and trans women are identical.

Even better: if men really DO have clitorises, and men and women are the exact same... then being transgender is an "incoherent social construct" because men = women and all these transwomen had clitorises all along. 🤣
