To be a parent by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]catsuneko 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I've never wanted any for as long as I can remember. I even remember telling my mom when I was about 4 or 5, and she responded that if I don't want kids I should stay away from boys. Luckily for me that hasn't been hard at all since I'm a lesbian lol. Idk I'm just not maternal, and I dislike being around kids, or at least babies and younger kids. I don't mind older kids as much, but it would suck waiting several years to be able to tolerate my child. If I ever somehow decide I do want children I think I'd just opt for adoption since I'm super turned off by the idea of being pregnant and giving birth for several reasons, but I doubt I'll be changing my mind tbh.

Percentage of homosexual women by Elvira95 in Lesbians

I agree with about 1%, I remember seeing that one Pew Research Institute survey and I'm pretty sure it said lesbians make up about that percentage of the US population, and it'd probably be a similar stat elsewhere.

I feel you. Rn unfortunately the only places we can be ourselves are places like this that are specifically for exclusively same-sex attracted women, away from the inclusive "lesbian" and alphabet soup spaces. Lesbophobia has always been a thing, it's just that now it's being painted as "progressive" because lesbianism is "transphobic" now. Hopefully things will get better when trans ideology loses its popularity (which I think it will eventually).

Mine is brown, wavy, and fine (which sucks bc it makes my hair frizzy and tangled af, but at least it makes my hair soft). Around December of last year I had it cut to my shoulders but I haven't been able to get it cut since then because of lockdown so now my hair is right above my boobs.

How do you feel about Comp Het? by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]catsuneko 17 insightful - 2 fun17 insightful - 1 fun18 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Lol I remember before TL was banned I was talking about this and someone (who was agreeing with me btw) said they knew a woman who claims to be a lesbian but has slept with 30 men. Like imo sleeping around with guys a lot and actively seeking them out to fuck them multiple times is not remotely lesbian, and what's really crazy is that some of those "comphet" types who've slept with that many men have slept with more men than the average straight woman lmao!

Ugh there's a commenter in there who used to post in r/truelesbians but she's the same as the OP, and started dating women bc she was tired of men. So basically she's a polilez. Ew. That makes me wonder how many other political lesbians there were on TL...

I used to go on ONTD a lot but the JK Rowling posts on there recently made me stop visiting, I couldn't stand the ultra wokeness. However I will say there are some terf members on there and they were the driving force of me peaking trans and also finding Gender Critical.

Were you the weird kid? by RedditHatesLesbians in Lesbians

[–]catsuneko 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah a similar thing happened to me, I was the weird (and quiet) girl, and the group I hung out with from middle school to sophomore year of high school (I moved and had to switch schools after that) was made up of quirky kids (mostly girls but there were a few guys) and most of them turned out to be lesbian/gay or bi. But tbh I didn't really feel like I really fit into that group, mostly because I had only had a few friends in there and the rest were either acquaintances or people I knew but didn't really talk to, and like I said I was really quiet and not good at talking to people I don't know very well. So honestly I never actually felt like I belonged anywhere.

When did you know you were a lesbian? by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]catsuneko 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Looking back at my childhood it was really obvious, I was always disgusted at the thought of being with a man and never wanted to get married. Instead I wanted to spend the rest of my life with a female "best friend" lol. But I didn't actually realize I liked girls until I was 13 when I developed a crush on a friend, however it didn't immediately click that I was a lesbian. I assumed I must be bi bc up until then I just assumed I was straight, and also I was into Tumblr at the time, where being bisexual is the woke thing to be. So for a while I thought I was bi, but I did realize I actually wasn't and it still didn't click I was lesbian and idk why but I then thought I was asexual, and I went through the embarrassing cycle of different Tumblr sexualities (cringe), frequently coming back to asexuality because of my lack of sexual attraction to men, and my complete disinterest in dating them. There were a few times during this when I thought maybe I was a lesbian, but I had a lot of internalized homophobia and according to the wokes lesbian=bad. I didn't fully come to terms with my sexuality until I was 18.

Yeah I did, which was kinda dumb since I knew at the time that I liked girls but since I wasn't sexually attracted to guys and didn't want anything to do with them I figured I was asexual. But tbf to my younger self I was really depressed and had a lot of internalized homophobia and would try to downplay my same sex attraction.

Mine is Kate McKinnon. Not only do I find her hilarious but I also love that she triggered TRAs with the "I've never seen a penis" stuff/talking about not liking it lol. And just now in the search engine I typed "kate mckinnon i" and the first result was "kate mckinnon is a terf" lmao! But she was never full on cancelled since she's not on social media and lays low, and that was also a while ago, if that happened now more people might make a bigger fuss idk.

Have you all deleted your Reddit accounts yet? by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]catsuneko 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah Reddit has a big problem with power mods, it's crazy how many subs some of them are mods for. At one point there was a list circulating on Reddit showing this problem and there was a lot of censorship of it. I initially saw it because of a post on Gender Critical about it, which eventually got removed by the Reddit Anti-Evil Operations team.

Look at the announcement post from the day of the first ban wave and look in the comments, a lot of people were asking if women weren't protected considering female centric subs got taken down while misogynistic ones stayed. And I'm not saying those subs weren't actively being targeted by TRAs and that it didn't played a role in the banning, I was just saying that there's a theory that women aren't protected under the new reddit rules.

I don't know what the policy is of posting links to other Saidit subs is, but yesterday I saw an interesting comment on the LGBDropTheT sub that included receipts on the Reddit trans admin Bardfinn, who is a massive cyberstalker and had been targeting these subs for a while before they got banned. https://saidit.net/s/LGBDropTheT/comments/5b2c/we_were_banned_on_reddit_on_july_10th_shortly/k9h0

Nah plenty of right wing subs got banned, and even meme subs like r/Wojak and r/BigChungus got banned, so not just women's subs got targeted, although female only/centric subs did get targeted. It's been theorized by some that the "protecting the minority" thing on Reddit does not apply to women, because in the US (where Reddit is based) women are technically a majority at 52% of the population. I don't think Reddit ever said anything about that but I wouldn't be surprised it they really did use that logic, considering how many misogynistic subs are still up.

True Lesbians wasn't even a GC sub, it was just sub for lesbians. And the mods even tried changing the rules to accommodate the new Reddit rules but clearly that wasn't enough, according to Reddit us lesbians can't have our own subreddit unless we worship the almighty girldick. Pure homophobia.

They were banned. I'm surprised those subs lasted that long tbh but it's still majorly fucked up. I was hoping maybe TL and Drop the T would be spared under the policy of protecting the minority (bc us gays are a minority ya know), but clearly Reddit gives zero shits about gay people and does not want to protect us, and instead are entirely pandering to misogynistic, homophobic males.

The admins can still see private subs (and ban them), but having TL private will prevent TRAs from brigading and mass reporting posts. So in a way it is safer because the TRAs can't access it but there's still the risk of being banned since they already started reporting before it went private.

" But if they're denying you for posting on a bi sub once despite ample evidence of being a lesbian, then it feels like they are changing TL to something extremely exclusive (gold star only?)" Lol what a massive reach, it has nothing to do with being a gold star. Maybe you don't want to admit it but it looks sus af if someone's been posting in bi subs while trying to gain access access lesbian subs. There were bi women who would try to post on TL and you could tell they weren't lesbians from their post history (which typically involves bi subs), so it's not surprising that the mods would be wary. You're being way too sensitive lmfao.

[–]catsuneko 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

What happened is that on Monday Reddit revealed a new policy on what content is allowed on Reddit, and it involved "hate speech", and on that same day Reddit banned 2,000 subs, including Gender Critical. After that someone on True Lesbians made a post about GC being banned and after that the post started getting brigaded by TRAs, and the TRAs started mass reporting the sub. Which ended up with the mods making the sub private. There's rumored to be a 2nd wave of bans on Wednesday (or maybe today depending on your time zone), and nobody quite knows if TL will get banned. It may or may not be, but tbh it probably will be, even if it isn't necessarily tomorrow, because acknowledging our lesbianism and that we don't want dick is considered hate speech now. So yeah, the sub is private. You can try messaging the mods to get an invite.
