I was wondering, as I was just a lurker on truelesbians and I'm not a Reddit expert, if making a sub private could prevent a ban, generally speaking. I mean, if it's not open to the casual/potential readers it cannot have (sarcastic tone) a "bad influence" on them, which is what TRAs fear, I guess. What do you think? Does censorship have something to do with the potential readers? In other words, is truelesbians safer this way or not?

The admins can still see private subs (and ban them), but having TL private will prevent TRAs from brigading and mass reporting posts. So in a way it is safer because the TRAs can't access it but there's still the risk of being banned since they already started reporting before it went private.

Understood, thanks!
