r/truscum calls Buck Angel a "right wing grifter" for acknowledging biological sex by TransspeciesUnicorn in LGBDropTheT

[–]NutterButterFlutter 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Buck is definitely NOT right wing - I cant think of any right-winger ever promoting pornography or sex toys ;) They're just saying that because that's what they do to opposition - name-calling and deflection. Buck became opposition by recognizing and acknowledging biological sex. Which is funny, because thats what truscum and transmeds do. They just also believe you can change it.

Buck does not. There are many cases of trans people getting tossed aside from their own community for the same reason.

Truscum tend to be the more sane trans of the lot. They arent tucutes and they believe in gatekeeping. They believe dysphoria is necessary to be trans, not self-ID. That feels familiar to many of us, especially anyone around in the 90s and earlier.

But make no mistake, they still live in todays society and are not immune to the indoctrination of modern TQ+. With their ostracizing from the LGBTQ+ crowd, they are also targets for grifters. With grifting comes worn-down acceptance, and then propagandizing.

I dont believe the OP of that post is actually truscum. Looking briefly through their post history, they very much do not like known right-wing people. They mock Caitlyn Jenner and Blair White, both of who are more on the truscum side of things, and call out Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson. They post in traaa, make tucute memes, and post validation selfies of their hormone timeline.

I think that OP is planting seeds to change the tone of the truscum sub. And there are users in there parroting back TQ+ mantra and getting upvoted. For example, the entire part of your quote:

sex isnt really immutable though. there are maybe 3 ways we can identify sex. through primary and secondary sex characteristics or through chromosomes.

primary and secondary sex characteristics can, for the most part, be completely converted.

it actually hard to know what chromosomes you have unless you get them tested, you might have primary and secondary sex characteristics typical of that of a male but have xx chromosomes.

or we could use both, which still doesnt really tell us anything about sex being immutable

gender is the immutable one really

I doubt it. Reddit introduced and updated rules recently to disallow "community harassment" from sub to sub.

So posts that call-out other subs for banning a user, or call-out other subs being negative or toxic in general, are seen as potentially inviting brigading and harassment. LGBT (and FTM) mods are covering their asses and removing the posts so they don't get hit with warnings from Admins.

What's ironic about the rule change is that all of that and more happened to our sub and many others over the years - it's always been crickets from Admins, or warnings to mods who report the behavior that WE need to clean up our acts. Its some sweet justice to see mods in these other subs being held accountable finally.

"r/askgaybros has got to be the most toxic subreddit I've ever seen for trans people's mental health. As a gay trans guy I struggle to feel safe in a lot of gay guy online spaces.
The only gay man oriented subreddit that I feel safe at is a subreddit that's specifically targeted towards gay trans guys (can't remember the specific title)
Obviously I know not all cis gay people are like this but holy shit some of them need to chill. Gay trans dudes are called straight women fetishizing gay men essentially.
Honestly as a trans FTM dude I'm so tired of cis gays throwing us under the bus to look better to society.

Yet another use of race as a comparison by BenitoGreen99 in TumblrInAction

[–]NutterButterFlutter 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Existing in society with dignity means transwomen being alongside cis women - and being respected for WHO they are. Not WHAT they are.

They are trans. Trans and cis are not the same (also I despise "cis", I'm just using it for context). Trans and cis being different is okay. What matters is what kind of human you are and how you acclimate into our society, our tribe. Thats the path to equality - accepting differences as regular and normal, and working with and through our new understandings and compromises. Growth, not assimilation.

There is a difference between men who transition and females. And likewise women who transition and males. Thats OK. I wish these jokers would just learn from the "truscum" of the old days instead of trying to remake reality into their fantasy land. It shows their mental illness, and that medically-defined dysphoria needs to be the gatekeeper.

Using race as a comparison is deliberately antagonistic, and playing into politics and classism that has nothing to do with trans. It's changing the focus into how the lower people are kept down and fighting among each other, so they ignore what the top power players are doing. That is a worthwhile fight, to be fair, but its not the point of this and they know it.

Race is not the same as gender identity. Don't engage with the side-stepping and whatabouts. Keep your eyes open, and stop them in their tracks instead of going down the rabbit holes they introduce.

r/WatchPeopleDie got banned from Reddit in March 2019 and moved here. I have always been a lurker of their sub, so I did not make an account at the time, just browsed.

I modded r/LGBDropTheT on Reddit with a few others, and we started getting concerned about a ban also. We discussed a few sites to be a backup, but ultimately decided on SaidIt because of WPD. We trusted the WPD mods and figured if they found SaidIt welcoming, we would too. We eventually got banned from Reddit in July 2020 and completed our move then.

Now the only time I'm on Reddit is to help people find their favorites subs which got banned and remade here too :)

I dont remember where I first heard the term, but "fedposting" is when someone purposely makes comments/posts to draw the attention of the authorities. Like making bomb threats, or threatening the president, or sharing CP. Illegal things that normal people would never do on a public forum.

It can also be used to refer to a federal agent posing as a normal user and doing those things to draw others in (honeypot). But I most often hear it used the other way.

Crazy, right!!! From what I've been able to gather:

  • A terminally online trans woman (Keffals) went off the rails and got a naturally formed lynch mob sicked on him for his behavior
  • KiwiFarms users doxxed him multiple times
  • Keffals turned everything and everyone into a social media lynch mob towards KF on Twitter and Twitch
  • KF was defended by Cloudflare
  • Some sleeper agent users started fedposting on KF
  • KF got dropped by Cloudflare
  • KF / Josh / Null is now hosting wherever the hell he can, and calling out the hypocrisy so the lynch mob tides can start turning towards big tech and social media

I haven't been able to catch up on much else, but hope that helps.

I may as well start. I do not have any bans under my belt except for automated bots on Reddit, so here's a story!

Your forever-loving original mods from Reddit (WavingVoid/me, IPD/Tumbleweed, and Rez/crypkids) saw an opportunity to take over some LGBDTT-like subs from a user who was suspended. We coordinated behind the scenes to request them through the "Reddit Request" sub. Most requests were ignored, but I managed to gain a couple. Maybe because all I really do anymore is mod, I don't know.

I got hold of r/TrueGayMen.

I'm a bisexual woman, I have no business running a gay man's sub. So I brought on a regular and passionate user to be the top mod in charge of things.

That user ruffled some feathers because he was open to bisexual men in strictly male relationships. I understand, but I didn't step in because it wasn't my place, I was only there to stop TRAs and homophobes from ruining things.

The sub eventually got banned for hate, as all "true" LGB subs do since we don't suck the girldick/eat the boipussy. The user I made a mod then came to SaidIt and his first post in our sub said:

It just feels like the conservative dickheads were right. You let the gays get married and you’ll open up Pandora’s box. I hate to admit it but it’s starting to look like they were right.

"The gays". Really?

He was immediately banned, and then tried to defend himself in Modmail saying:

No, it’s is wrong for you guys to ban me. You are jumping to conclusions and being overly sensitive. It sucks what happened to LGBDropthT. The least you could do is not abandon your own principles and create this kind of hostility in an environment where we all desperately need friends and allies.

It wasn’t a pity party. I am sorry because it wasn’t my intention to make anyone feel insulted. It was just a hammy, drama queen moment, that I picked up from hanging around gay people again these last few years. If we knew each other personally or if I was able to properly communicate my tone and sarcasm we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now I assure you.

You guys are good people.

"You guys".

So never really one of us, he was always an outsider. And wasn't even gay himself.

Not quite a victory yet, but on its way. It needs to get passed through the Senate (and other legal measures) before being federal law.

Under the House bill, states could still restrict gay marriage if the Supreme Court overturns its prior ruling. But such states would be required to recognize marriages that occurred in states where they remain legal.

Still gives states the right to say no for themselves, but if a couple gets married in a state where it IS allowed, even the non-accepting states have to legally recognize it.

Sorry, on my phone tonight so kind of brief.

The USA is not comparable to the UK directly. We would be more like the EU as a whole (prior to Brexit).

The UK is more like a region of the US, and the countries in it are like our states. The UK could be our Southwest territories, and England or Ireland could be Texas or Arizona.

This decision of RvW would be the equivalent of the EU deciding they will not enforce abortion rights, and will leave it up to England or Germany or whatever to decide.

Our U.S. states are still able to decide, for what that's worth.

LGB rights coming up next. It will be even easier because far left in the US have pushed for obfuscation and rewriting of language, including sex. So there is no need for protected rights of that which does not exist.

Having troubles using it today though, keeps error-ing out trying to get into subs. Not sure if that's because of an influx of traffic on SaidIt due to the bans, or if it's CloudFlare issues.

To be fair to u/justcool393, while he is technically a powermod, he's not of the same league as the cabal of N8s and Turtles. I've known of him for years by being in subs he's on.

JC393 is more like a silent partner, he squats to make sure subs don't get shut down as "unmoderated", and his only "ruling" is from the shadows as a coder. He's responsible for things like banning of 90.69% of r/drama users, or that time he broke a bot and ended up shutting down Reddit because of tying up all their resources.

WRD has needed to go for a while though. They've just been crippling themselves and users by adhering to the ever-increasing demands of Admins.
