That has to be one of the most tragically comic threads I've ever seen. There is just so much material there! What We Do in the Shadows is an absolutely fantastic show, and Harvey Guillen is part of the reason why. He's gay irl, and his character came out this season as well. He's proudly Chicano and has spoken about how glad he is to be able to be some representation of that population on TV, as well as someone who isn't perfectly skinny. He's also simply a terrific actor.

But this....eek. No, Harvey. No. The word "baby" being highlighted like that, the stuffed animal, the pastel colors, the whole thing...it's creepy, and not in a good vampire way (his show is about a group of vampires, hence the "bite me one more time" part, which of course also references younger Britney Spears). I think a lot of the general public hears trans people crying about not being able to access healthcare, and they (the public) think it's just meanie doctors who won't see trans people merely because they're trans, or meanie insurance companies who won't enroll them for the same reason. In actuality, of course, trans people are referring to hormones and surgeries. But they knew that wouldn't garner as much sympathy with the general public, so they cloaked it under the nonspecific word "healthcare". The more people who are made aware of what's meant by healthcare in this context, the better.
