Let's talk about successful black areas and countries.

Can you name a single black city or country that hasn't been actively destroyed by outside forces? The continent of africa has been exploited for centuries by extremely wealthy powers, so it would be unfair to discuss africa in comparison to other nations. You can't really compare black-majority american cities to white-majority american cities because white-majority people often have some higher degree of generational wealth and additionally don't have to and have never had to deal with systemic discrimination to any real degree.

So what country or city would you like to discuss that would in any capacity be a fair comparison? Because I can't think of a single one.

If nobody else applies I'd be willing to be a temp mod for the sub. I visit saidit daily so there'd be no issue with the sub going unchecked. I'm not too knowledge about keyboards so I wouldn't really post much though. Beyond that I think I'm a pretty decent mod; I follow a sub's rules pretty closely and enforce them as written, and I don't believe in removing or banning people for any reason other than breaking rules (obviously including saidit rules and the PoD).

I'd prefer not to mod the discord but I do have experience with discord moderation if you need one.

Police came for a domestic and he got red-flagged over it. Red-flag laws and their implementation has been a nightmare so far, and every officer responsible for helping enforce them has blood on their hands, but I'm not sure if this guy is entirely worth defending.

Also, I'll add a disclaimer that none of the news sites directly link to any kind of police report, and the scheduled confrence the police are holding on the matter isn't till tomorrow at 1. The police have also stated on their FB that the event was not a matter of red flag laws, but I'm not sure exactly how much weight that statement holds.

Antidepressants reduce/treat depressive symptoms, some of those symptoms are suicidal thoughts, suicidal ideation, or suicidal tendencies. People kill themselves all the time because of depression. Antidepressants aren't magic no-suicide pills, nor did I ever imply that they were, but if it alleviates depression then by alleviating depression it would prevent suicide in sone capacity. Obviously it isn't always effective.

Even if you have issues with antidepressants, the bill prohibits ANY medical treatment designed to "alleviate symptoms of clinically significant distress resulting from gender dysphoria". That clearly means forcing affected teens to suffer in silence and whatever comes from that. Trans teens already have high rates of suicide and suicide attempts. I don't think banning at-risk teens and kids from getting any kind of medical help is a great idea

I'm pretty positive that there's a difference between someone who genuinely believes that they are Jesus Christ incarnate or a cat, and someone who believes that they were born the wrong gender and wish to get as close to their desired/"real" gender as they can. It's my understanding that people with dysphoria understand that they aren't a woman in the sense that they weren't born with female bone structure or chromosomes or the correct chemical balance, but they still have the dysphoria and wish to transition.

Catholic hospitals are free to exclude as they please, and regularly excercise that right and yet receive funding the same as any hospital. That second story is an example of them refusing emergency services to a woman in a life-threatening situation, so there isn't even a grey area about it only happening with non-emergency procedures.

And I am not aware of any conservative politicians, whether they're a twitter talking head or an actual politician, that are opposed to these rules around catholic hospitals.

The military has mandatory psych evaluations, and past that you gotta be a little stronger willed than the average bear to get through training and actually be allowed on a battlefield. There's no way in fuck that you'd see some epidemic of trans soldiers offing themselves or some kind of "mentally ill" group of soldiers doing stupid shit like giving the enemy weapons.

Define what you mean by kill

I never said the word "kill", I said "body count". As in the number of people directly killed (things such as wars, govt assassinations, workers being killed by unsafe conditions) and indirectly killed (things such as oil pipelines breaking and destroying ecosystems that then ruin the livelihood of people, people who can't afford food and then die, people who can't afford medical care and die due to lack of treatment or an undetected illness, people who die in ghettos, etc etc).

I'm quite sure the numerous U.S interventions have resulted in a hefty number of deaths, as well as things like the British Opium Wars being direct instances of capitalism (that is, if we count the British empire as having been somewhat capitalist during that time) causing death and destruction. Last second edit: You could also count the deaths caused by every notable cartel and drug empire as being part of the capitalist body count, seeing as how a hierarchical orginization who's sole goal is the attainment of wealth is basically just a corporation. Only difference between cartels and corporations is that one operates outside the law. But U.S law is not inherent to capitalism

Also the OP pic mentions "socialism", not communism. If your OP was intended to dunk on communism then I'd appreciate if you could clarify that

"Good" and "evil" aren't really words with clear cut definitions. If you wanna talk about an ideology eroding the line between "good" and "evil" you'd have to start with an extremely thorough definition of those words, because otherwise there'd be no way to point out and measure change in public perception of "good" and "evil".

Voat is infamous for brigading those that disagree with them, to the point where many users can't use their accounts because they got swamped in negative karma. Regardless of specific positions they hold politically, it would appear that the mindset of "agree with me or I will raid you" is quite toxic to a site devoted to equality of thought. There is certainly issues to be had with the dominant political ideology though

The article itself is nothing groundbreaking. People will and have file(d) baseless hate crime reports the same way that people frequently file baseless lawsuits for frivolous things. You might actually have a headline if someone actually got convicted though

How hard could it be to lock down one city? A city that has had significant police presence for decades and is in a state with high military presence and significant portions of the intelligence community.

I doubt it. You might get some widespread riots or at least a whole lot of marches, but a full blown civil war would be damn near impossible. The military has means to suppress an uprising, and the alphabet agencies might possibly have insiders within whatever militia groups take up arms first. That and I think that people are a whole hell of a lot more complacent than we give them credit for. Everybody loves to talk big but the actions rarely follow.
