I don't see this as any worse than the miles of MSM articles pushed some years back about millenials. Nor is this all that different from the thousands of years of similar bitching about new generations by the old. I'd like to see the generations come together for once though, if only to see the impact they could make.

So not only did you shift the goalpost from "a publicly funded institution denying a taxpayer service is always bad" to "a publicly funded institution denying a taxpayer service is only bad if it's life threatening". Great.

Not only have we moved the goalposts but we've now willfuly ignored the second article I posted of a woman being denied a LIFE SAVING operation due to deadly complications with her miscarriage, and the subsequent paragraph I posted afterwards.

Something something publicly funded.

Catholic hospitals are free to exclude as they please, and regularly excercise that right and yet receive funding the same as any hospital. That second story is an example of them refusing emergency services to a woman in a life-threatening situation, so there isn't even a grey area about it only happening with non-emergency procedures.

And I am not aware of any conservative politicians, whether they're a twitter talking head or an actual politician, that are opposed to these rules around catholic hospitals.

Anyways it'll be interesting to see the right's reaction to this. This seems like the logical extension of the mentality the right applied to the whole "bake the cake" controversy some time ago. If you say that one group of people can and should discriminate because of their values then it'd be hypocritical to disavow such actions when applied by other people.

Obviously this is a shitty thing for the NHS to do, and I do hope it gets revoked or the rulings are undone swiftly, but nonetheless the reaction will be interesting.

I think I misread the initial post. I thought you said "most evil monsters" as in a quantitative statement, not "the most evil monsters" as in a qualitative.

But I think trying to play "mass death high score" is absolutely pointless anyways. I could point to any ideology, object, or activity and show you some bonkers atrocitiy directly related to that thing. You have to look at the bigger picture to actually determine if something is worthwhile or not. Don't take that as a defense of communism, I'm just tired of people playing high scores as if crimes don't happen if it only happens to one person or if the crimes are committed by a mass of people.

Also nazism and communism do not equal socialism. Saying communism equals socialism is like saying that cronyism is the only form of capitalism

I don't know if anyone will ever be able to confirm if she or ABC actually had the story early but if they did then this is only a negative on her, not the network. She has enough pull that she easily could have independently broke the story or gone to another outlet and broke the story, even if it would have hurt her financially (maybe it'd break contract or something) I'd argue that if you have to choose between a couple thousand dollar fine and preventing "the most prolific pedophile ever" from further victimizing people that the right choice is ALWAYS to take the hit.

Image if one of these victims confronted her and she had to explain why she decided to condone the status quo and let however many tens or hundreds of girls continue to be raped on a daily basis for three fucking years. Imagine being a fucking reporter and refusing to do your job and break one of the most important stories of the decade because of a little red tape and chump change in fines.

My apologies.

Explain to me how a modern day mentally ill tranny would cope with the horror of war.

I suppose your strawman definition of a "modern day mentally ill tranny" might not make it, seeing as how you can define the actions of whatever strawman you whip up as you see fit, but a trans person who can make it through every psych evaluation and handle all the training and torture you have to go through to actually be qualified enough to see combat would by definition be fully capable of handling the horrors of war, at least to the same degree as your average soldier, because the military would have already weeded out those that can't handle it. The army doesn't just let the average joe walk in off the street and ask for a flak vest and they send him off that day; There's a whole process to it.

The military has mandatory psych evaluations, and past that you gotta be a little stronger willed than the average bear to get through training and actually be allowed on a battlefield. There's no way in fuck that you'd see some epidemic of trans soldiers offing themselves or some kind of "mentally ill" group of soldiers doing stupid shit like giving the enemy weapons.

I get that some people think that "Le 40%" is just absolutely drop dead hilarious but the reality is that 40% isn't even a legitimate statistic for civilian population (40% is just suicide attempts and that stat accounts for any attempt at any point in life, which means that stat is subject to outside factors such as an already high teen suicide rate), let alone military populations.

Define what you mean by kill

I never said the word "kill", I said "body count". As in the number of people directly killed (things such as wars, govt assassinations, workers being killed by unsafe conditions) and indirectly killed (things such as oil pipelines breaking and destroying ecosystems that then ruin the livelihood of people, people who can't afford food and then die, people who can't afford medical care and die due to lack of treatment or an undetected illness, people who die in ghettos, etc etc).

It's quite rude and dishonest of you to rephrase my posts with words I didn't use.

Communism literally took guns and shot at people en mass, exterminating entire family names.

And capitalism hasn't gone and wiped people off the map? I'm quite sure the numerous U.S interventions have resulted in a hefty number of deaths, as well as things like the British Opium Wars being direct instances of capitalism (that is, if we count the British empire as having been somewhat capitalist during that time) causing death and destruction. Last second edit: You could also count the deaths caused by every notable cartel and drug empire as being part of the capitalist body count, seeing as how a hierarchical orginization who's sole goal is the attainment of wealth is basically just a corporation. Only difference between cartels and corporations is that one operates outside the law. But U.S law is not inherent to capitalism

Also the OP pic mentions "socialism", not communism. If your OP was intended to dunk on communism then I'd appreciate if you could clarify that

Communism has NOTHING to do with economy.

An economic system has nothing to do with economy? I'd like you to explain that a bit more if possible, because I genuinely can't follow your reasoning.

The relativism of good and evil.

"Good" and "evil" aren't really words with clear cut definitions. If you wanna talk about an ideology eroding the line between "good" and "evil" you'd have to start with an extremely thorough definition of those words, because otherwise there'd be no way to point out and measure change in public perception of "good" and "evil".

I doubt it. You might get some widespread riots or at least a whole lot of marches, but a full blown civil war would be damn near impossible. The military has means to suppress an uprising, and the alphabet agencies might possibly have insiders within whatever militia groups take up arms first. That and I think that people are a whole hell of a lot more complacent than we give them credit for. Everybody loves to talk big but the actions rarely follow.

[–]Otacon 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Did he just copy pasted warranties?

The article uses a really weird method of determining "obsolescence"

Here, We survey and compare how long a product could last before they are deemed unconsumable, or considered phased out or outmoded (i.e, a new model is constructed)

So basically if the company releases a new model the next year then this chart likely considers the original model obsolete regardless of if it still functions. That would explain why the iPhone 3g and 4 only have a one year rating, or PS3 only being rated for 7 years despite myself personally having several original PS3s that are still in excellent working order.
