A wonderfully reasoned response, as usual. Moreover, I'd like to politely argue that The Gateway Pundit and their Republican handlers are trying to destroy the US for the sake of their own temporary financial gain, and are among the most evil of the misinformation websites, and their HQ worthy of being burned to the ground, with their employees and corporate lobbyists inside. But I digress. Indeed, the solar panel farm is still under construction, merely requires repairs, and is evidence that this kind of solar farm should be on land, rather than on water.

What is cryptocurrency exchange development? by bellascott in BlockChain

[–]Shook71 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Cryptocurrency exchange development is the process of creating a platform where users can trade digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies. This development involves a combination of blockchain technology, security protocols, and financial expertise to ensure a seamless and secure trading experience. A key aspect of building a cryptocurrency exchange is integrating a user-friendly interface that allows traders to buy, sell, and store digital currencies with ease. Developers also focus on compliance with regulatory requirements, as exchanges must adhere to laws and regulations to operate legally in various jurisdictions. This compliance extends to tax obligations, with users needing to understand the tax implications of trading cryptocurrencies. For more information on the types of taxes you might need to pay when trading cryptocurrency, you can refer to this resource: https://www.businesstomark.com/what-taxes-do-you-have-to-pay-when-trading-cryptocurrency/. Additionally, security is paramount in cryptocurrency exchange development robust encryption methods and multi-factor authentication are employed to protect user funds and data. As the cryptocurrency market evolves, so does the development of exchanges, incorporating new features like decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), catering to the ever-changing needs of cryptocurrency traders and investors.

I get wanting a powerful car especially as a young person, had a BMW myself -- that absolutely killed me on maintenance which is the reason I don't recommend them, but it was a helluva fun car to drive.

But in case you want to consider utility, it's hard to beat crossovers. MPG of a car with the luggage capacity of a SUV. Higher up than cars too, being low to the ground kinda sucks. And some of the newer models are quite affordable. The bells and whistles of modern cars are fuckin nice. Collision detection / avoidance, lane detection, keyless entry are all very convienient. Older cars won't even have backup cameras, although that's easy to add after market.

I also think it's a huge perk if the car is sleepable, if you can completely stretch out and take a nap if need be. Although that's more useful for a guy bc of security issues, it gives you options to be able to skip a hotel room if need be.

How about a Mustang, Charger, Challenger, or Camaro?

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain repeats the word "nigger" over 200 times. This fiction was required reading for me in their government ("public") school system. Why? This same institution will fire a teacher for having a Holy Bible on his desk, which preaches God's love for all. by In-the-clouds in conspiracy

[–]Hematomato 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes. I took my children out of the government's public schools and home-schooled them. But the government still requires I pay over $2,000 per year in property taxes, with the bulk of it going to the public schools. They will not allow me to opt-out of funding their indoctrination camps. Horrible things happened when parents began giving their children to strangers.

I sympathize. In 2004, I was horrified that the U.S. government was taking my money and spending it on setting Iraqi children on fire. I considered whether I should refuse to pay my taxes. I eventually decided that I'd pay my taxes and just wish that George W. Bush would burn eternally in Hell. So I helped murder children, and even though I don't necessarily believe in Hell, I hope George W. Bush burns in it.

Can you explain the use of the word in the cartoon from 1868? And can you explain why the government required us to read a book of fiction which included the word "nigger" over 200 times, but they refuse to allow anything from the Holy Bible to be seen or referenced?

Yeah, I can explain that. We've been arguing about resistance to having a state religion for more than 250 years; but we've only considered the word "nigger" to be unspeakable for about 15 years.

Guard Your Secrets: 8 Things You Should Never Share with Anyone by kiranrao01 in news

[–]kiranrao01[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Introduction: In a world where sharing is often encouraged and openness is valued, it’s essential to remember that not everything is meant to be disclosed to just anyone. While building trust and fostering connections are vital aspects of human interaction, some information is better kept close to the chest. Let’s delve into eight things you should never share with anyone, safeguarding your well-being and maintaining boundaries in your relationships.

Personal Identification Information (PII) In an era where identity theft and online scams are prevalent, safeguarding your personal identification information (PII) is paramount. This includes your Social Security number, passport details, driver’s license number, and banking information. Sharing such sensitive data can leave you vulnerable to fraud and financial loss. Intimate Details of Your Relationship While confiding in close friends or family members about relationship challenges can be therapeutic, divulging intimate details about your partner or the intricacies of your love life can lead to unintended consequences. Respect your partner’s privacy and the sanctity of your relationship by refraining from sharing excessively personal information with others. Passwords and Security Codes Your passwords and security codes serve as the digital keys to your online accounts and sensitive information. Sharing them with anyone, even trusted individuals, compromises your cybersecurity and puts your data at risk. Keep your passwords confidential and opt for secure methods of storing and managing them, such as password managers. Future Plans or Aspirations While it’s natural to seek advice and support from loved ones when planning for the future, disclosing every detail of your goals and aspirations can invite skepticism, envy, or unnecessary pressure from others. Exercise discretion when sharing your ambitions, and be mindful of whom you entrust with your dreams. Confidences Shared in Confidence Confidentiality is the cornerstone of trust in relationships, whether personal or professional. If someone confides in you with sensitive information, honor their trust by refraining from sharing it with others without their explicit consent. Respect boundaries and prioritize integrity in your interactions. Negative Thoughts or Opinions About Others Venting frustrations or expressing negative opinions about others may provide temporary relief, but it can also damage relationships and tarnish your reputation. Gossiping or spreading rumors not only reflects poorly on your character but also creates a toxic environment of mistrust and animosity. Practice discretion and kindness in your communication. Financial Status or Wealth Disclosing details about your financial status, income, or wealth can lead to envy, resentment, or even exploitation by others. While transparency in financial matters is important in certain contexts, such as business partnerships or familial discussions, exercising discretion about your financial situation helps protect your assets and privacy. Deeply Held Fears or Insecurities Sharing your vulnerabilities with trusted confidants can foster deeper connections and emotional support. However, divulging deeply held fears or insecurities to acquaintances or casual acquaintances may leave you feeling exposed or exploited. Choose your confidants wisely and prioritize emotional safety in your relationships. Conclusion: In a culture that often celebrates transparency and oversharing, exercising discretion about what you disclose to others is crucial for safeguarding your well-being and maintaining healthy boundaries. By respecting the privacy of sensitive information and prioritizing trust and integrity in your relationships, you can cultivate deeper connections while protecting your personal and digital security. Remember, some things are best kept between you and yourself.

Yes, the very people who invented Democracy
did wonder if it was any good.

Plato, famously, didn't like it.

Now, I'm not saying that the author is arguing for totalitarianism,
which would be rather unusual for a Libertarian! :D

I'm saying that if/as we descend into totalitarianism
(which does seem to be happening), we'll start noticing that
Democracy as a system starts getting attacked more and more,
from all sides, both the right and the left, wittingly and unwittingly,
with both good and bad arguments.

And this guy does make good arguments, for example:

A major paradox of government is that
if the demos has all the de jure power,
an oligarchy of financial interests has all the de facto power,
which is the unfortunate situation in which we find ourselves.

This is perfectly put.

But, that having been said, it is also interesting that,
as the author sought to frame the issues
from his Libertarian perspective,
somehow(!), an attack on Democracy
seemed promising.

However, this ambitious experiment ended in a spectacular failure.

No. Just needs some repairs.

Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation (NHDC) has started evaluation of the damage, but is confident the plant will be back to producing power soon.

The project was supposed to be the world’s largest floating solar PV plant, but instead, it’s become a stark reminder of the limits of renewable energy and the dangers of prioritizing grand ambitions over practical realities.

And now we knowwhy they're being misleading. Fear-mongering from the fossil fuel industry about renewables.

While the anchoring at this site was clearly inadequate, trying to convince the reader that anchoring must therefore necessarily be inadequate for all floating solar projects is only going to work on that part of your audience who are refusing to think about it.

the deity has an adversary in a monotheism?

Yes, and each of us act like his adversary when we work to destroy the faith. The created spirit, Lucifer, rebelled against God. Knowing there is one God, how does this challenge you?

sacrificed himself on the cross, to appease ... well ... Himself

In physics, you know that every action has an equal and opposite action. Likewise, every one of our sins has a consequence. Are you saying that God should be less than perfect and require no consequences for the rebellion against him? Should he also cancel the laws of physics?

And you're OK with that story.

It is a bitter-sweet story. I am sorry that we rebelled against God and that it was necessary for Jesus to take the consequence of our apostasy on himself, but there is no other way. Man's guilt is too much for us to atone for this rebellion in our own power. Only the perfect man, Jesus, could take our guilt from us. I also see by his choice that Jesus is incredibly merciful and loving. We can all return to him. He will in no wise cast out any who come to him. I can imagine no other King that is better than the one that lay his life down for his people.

Cold weather can do a number on coal if it isn’t properly treated.

In 1983, the Deep South of the US had 136 hours of sub freezing weather. Temperatures as low as 5F. Arkansas Power and Light didn’t treat their coal piles with an anti freeze material. There were news clips showing front end loaders bouncing off the frozen coal piles as they tried to scoop it up.

AP&L couldn’t keep up with demand. AP &L tried to blame the gas company, Arkla, for rationing gas supplies. Blaming Arlka didn’t work after folks saw those news clips.

Wait, the deity has an adversary in a monotheism?

And let's just have a look at how it all works:

Jesus (who is God) sacrificed himself on the cross,
to appease ... well ... Himself (since monotheism),
so that He, Himself, would forgive us shitty humans for our sins.

And you're OK with that story.
