If you want to understand the various conceptions of God, and to, therefore, better understand your own, go into, compare and contrast many/all human religions/cults, in general, not just the one you were conditioned into during pre-rational childhood.

If you want to understand 'the mind of God' as it were, i.e. Infinite Consciousness, study mathematics/rationality/logic ('en arche en logos'). :)

What's certain in any case is that some murderous genocidal(!!) and recognisably evil Yahweh tribal deity (invented by some crafty Middle Eastern sociopaths, in order almost certainly to fool/scare people into obeying them) cannot possibly have anything to do with the Good.

For example, the murder of a young girl for premarital sex can only be reconciled with any concept of the Good by refusing to try to examine what that word might actually mean, which is why this had to later be corrected by Christianity.

But given that the 'infallible' deity you worship seems to have changed its mind about murdering young girls, you're now stuck with the incoherence of it, and have to either do mental acrobatics, or to avoid actually dealing with that fact, as in your above comment:

The deity commanded something so obviously evil that later on it (ostensibly the same deity) has to take it back, ... so, well, then, ugh, you see, ... you totally lost the meaning of what the Lord God said ... Judge not, lest ye be judged ... Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. :/

Basically, you've given up on being a full ethical human being and have decided instead to outsource your ethical judgements to some Lord/master/dictator that's as imaginary as it is infallible, i.e. that's 'Good' by dogma, even when it contradicts itself.

Apparently, many/most people seem to prefer to obey, submiting even to complete absurdity, i.e. as slaves, than to try to actually think, and to take responsibility, as free men.
