I think the judiciary acts as the guardian of the office scribe.

And perhaps my perspective - admittedly idyllic - on the policeman is a bit fanciful. Of course I am assuming that a cop is acting for the state. Not that it matters.

But they aren't always acting for the state. There are private investigators, who might as well toil just as many long hours in their office.

I definitely don't feel good about the - again, ideal - policeman who doesn't want to sit around in the office. Like, they need to be out grinding on the street? No.
