NPD can be treated though therapy and self awareness. Understanding your not perfect and you have a problem. It's hard to admit you have a problem with NPD so a lot of sufferers never get help and NPD is a new diagnosis so a lot of psychologists don't know how to treat it but a therapist can still give good insight into your self that's worth having.

First of all, I have secondly no it doesn't. All I said words can also hurt. Weather being punched in the face or being called "stupid" hurts more is completely subjective but doesn't mean one is better then the other.

I don't sit around all day posting here if you looked at my post history you would see most of my posts are posted around 3-to-9 so not exactly working hours and if you looked at my posts I did say I was working on myself.

So just because some people want to be enabled that means nobody can ever want to change or get help. Ok then I guess we're all just doomed and things can never get better. I post here because I'm looking for advice and a place where I can say the things I can't say irl. It's nice to be able to express your self anonymously in a neutral space.

Being homeless isn't a big deal if you know what your doing. I'm technically homeless but not in the crackhead on the sidewalk way I'm more of a drifter. If you have any friends maybe you could crash at there place from time to time and also hotels are very useful. If I get really desperate I'll use a shelter if I have to.

I'm good at befriending people I meet around so I can sleep at there place for a night. I travel lightly like a backpacker. All I have is my laptop, phone, charger, some clothes and my bank card.

Christmas is mostly a kids thing because it's the kids who benefit the most and Christmas is more family orientated while Halloween is more about dark things like scary ghosts, demons, sexy costumes and parties also parents party too. This is an unusual thing to argue but I do really suck at writing. When I was that school I used to hate English class because I always got F's no matter how hard I tried. There were a few times were I broke down in tears during class because I just couldn't do it. I was the only kid that was allowed to use there phone during class to help with spellings. I can only use words like "nonsensical" because of my text to speech feature on my phone. Just look at the r/LowIQPeople sudreddit and you'll see the people there talking like me.

No problem👍 NPD is a mental illness that is to do with feelings of self-worth and self centuredness. NPD can make you feel like your never wrong and your the main character in a TV. NPD can be problematic to relationships of all kinds because with NPD it's hard to empathize with others or admit your wrong. NPD is hard to live with and hurts the sufferer just as much as anyone else. People with NPD can be problematic the same way someone with the black death would. It's only problematic because a lot of people with NPD struggle to get help for they're disorder.

I haven't seen my old therapist in like 4 years as it got too expensive but I'm in the process of getting my shit together so I can see one again. I do a lot of research on the web and I know that sounds like a recipe for disaster but I only use trustworthy sites positivepsychology and Calm also it's helpful to read/watch from the prospective of other people going through the same problem on sites like Reddit and YouTube. Empathy at the end of the day is having a good imagination so I do things like go out of my comfort zone and imagine things as if they were happening to me.

I suck at grammar and it I always need to look over my sentences because I misplaced words a lot. I'm not saying there meant to be fun. I use to go to counselling in school but I remember how rude and judgemental she was. I have no idea how she became a mental health professional. I remember how she would tell me off for my stutter and make me play with puppets for some reason and is there even drug free therapy? Even if it's just anti-depression I won't be able to handle it. What you said about drugs is completely valid. I'm going to have to look into Social programs tho.

Why does everyone think they are a mental expert when it comes to narcissism? Thire analysis always boils down to "NPD is when your a stinky poopoo head who is a big meanie". Everyone can be manipulative it's not exclusive to NPD.

I hate how stigmatised NPD is especially in this age of mental health awareness. It's like with disabilities people only care it's something socially acceptable like depression or anxiety but not when it comes to other things that can ruin your life like ASPD, BPD or NPD then people think your the second version of satan.

And understand what your saying about psychiatry but just because they don't have a treatment doesn't mean there isn't an illness. I understand that therapy can pathologize normal behaviour but I don't have normal behaviour. I have an expectation that things will always work out in my way and when it doesn't I use to think it could never have been my fault. I used to always over estimate my ability and I found it very hard to relate or empathize with others. I'm always thinking about myself and everyone else like a secondary character. I find it hard to form relationships with others because caring about others doesn't come naturally to me.

It's hard to accept you have problems when you have NPD. It took me a long time to understand that there's something fundamentally wrong with me. My narcissism was a defence mechanism from the world around me when I was young so admitting something is wrong with you really hurts.

I don't have very good experiences with therapy as a lot of my drug habits came from therapy and a lot of these social programs don't apply to me as I'm disabled in a way that people don't care about. If your in a wheelchair your a brave little soul who's fighting against the odds, if you have down syndrome your a cute little freak but if your low IQ or have have ADHD then your just dump and lazy and should read more books and apply yourself.

I don't like the thought of giving up drugs because drugs are my escape and when you say I should stop it's like telling me to just be miserable 24/7.

What would counselling or a AA meeting do? I'm still low IQ, I still have no education, I can still bearly spell, my life is still over. Non of that is going to change just because I went to some idiot who's just going to put me on some new drugs. And I can't either go to college or a job I already said this.
