82% of Voters Oppose GOP Push to Cut Social Security for Americans Under 50 - Voters would rather see taxes on wealthy Americans to ensure Social Security remains a guarantee for all by g0ldfish in politics

If you know the numbers, you know you're wrong.

In 2023, there will be $1.10 trillion in tax revenue for Social Security (partially for your Social Security Trust Fund). (https://www.thebalancemoney.com/current-u-s-federal-government-tax-revenue-3305762)

That's similar to Social Security revenue for 2020: https://www.ssa.gov/news/press/releases/2021/#8-2021-2

Total annual expenditures of the Social Security Administration is around $1 trillion, and had been $1.1 trillion in 2020: https://www.ssa.gov/news/press/releases/2021/#8-2021-2

Almost none of that added to the $2.8 trillion currently in the Social Security Trust Fund, which is a major problem for those under age 65: https://ssofficelocation.com/resources/social-security-trust-fund/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Security_Trust_Fund

Here's what's in Biden's $3.5 trillion plan to tax the rich: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/biden-tax-increase-rich/

Because of aging Boomers, Social Security revenue and payments to Boomers might not remain the same in the next decade. To budget for a potential shortfall, taxing the wealthy by 1% would result in $1.6 trillion in revenue in the next decade. https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxvox/can-wealth-tax-raise-revenue-its-sponsors-hope

Taxing the wealthy by 10% would result in $16 trillion in revenue.

But let's be honest: the GOP have exploited the middle class for the past 40 years, and this latest request to take your money that was paid for Social Security (essential for the middle class) is another abuse of the wealthy, against of the 99%. Reversing previous tax cuts for the wealthy is appropriate where "trickle down" has been known as a ponzi scheme fruad of the past 40 years, benefitting ONLY the wealthy, while killing off the middle class and American Dream. There are so many charts showing this increasing income inequality. Have a look.

That was in April, and the survey question implied that the Trump Administration's people and associates helped with the insurrection. This is a fact, and the general public has been informed of the way in which security personnel helped some traitors get into the Capitol Building and Pentagon officials followed Trump's ordered NOT to send miliary support.

For more info, see the May survey:

Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans, as well as 57% of both Democrats and unaffiliated voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the Capitol riot. [because of the available reports on this]

Forty-seven percent (47%) of all Likely Voters believe the special congressional committee that investigated the Capitol riot did a good or excellent job, while 38% rate the special committee as having done a poor job. While 66% of Democrats rate the so-called J6 committee as having done a good or excellent job with its investigation, only 26% of Republicans and 47% of unaffiliated voters share that opinion. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Republicans give the J6 committee investigation a poor rating, as do 20% of Democrats and 40% of unaffiliated voters.

More whites (34%) than black voters (11%) or other minorities (22%) give the J6 committee an excellent rating. Majorities of every racial category believe it is important that all the video from the Capitol riot be made available to the public. Likewise, majorities of every group – 61% of whites, 62% of black voters and 64% of other minorities – think it is at least somewhat likely that undercover government agents helped provoke the Capitol riot.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of self-identified conservative voters say it is Very Likely that [Trump Admin's] undercover agents helped provoke the riot, compared to 18% of moderates and 26% of liberals.

It's one of the most important trials in US history. Politicians should be held accountable. Criminals should be prosecuted. Traitors to the US should be prosecuted. Trump has been corrupting a large minority in the US who want to believe that what he's done is OK, that treason, theft, grift, incitements to violence, using a US Presidential office for personal and family financial benefit in the billions, 80,000 lies over the span of several years, trying to destroy democracy, trying to destroy government agencies for education and the environment, etc, etc, etc, is all OK, not to mention the extensive corruption of his own. Bullshit. This is a political opinion ("leaders" section) that should not have been allowed to be in the Economist. The author leaves out this downward trend in inflation:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/273418/unadjusted-monthly-inflation-rate-in-the-us/

And the author leaves out the obvious fact of economic growth for the 99% results in a bit of inflation (growth in jobs and higher wages = inflation, growing economy &c). This is a political hit piece because there are no potential criticisms from partisan hacks for the improvement in the economy after Trump; none. If the job numbers were low, we'd hear about that 24/7 from the political hacks. Instead the focus here is on the momentary several-month rise in inflation due to job growth. In BOTH categories (job grown and inflation) the US has done better for the 99% AFTER Trump left office. Moreover, the US president is NOT the mastermind of economic development. Someone should write a letter to the editor of the Economist about their very bad decision to allow this misleading trash in the magazine.

Saidit fully supports political corruption.

No one can respond to the question: which of the 91 charges is bogus?

Saiditors have been brainwashed into believing that the federal charges are somehow unimportant.

Saiditors assume the Biden Sr has done something illegal (he's not).

Saiditors assume that Hunter was not charged with anything (though he was charged with 2 tax evasion misdemeanors and for gun possession).

One of the biggest problems in modern Western society is when we started taking the mentally ill seriously and capitulating to them, instead of treating their illness or acknowledging their insanity. Agree or disagree? by Mcheetah in AskSaidIt

[–]g0ldfish 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Disagree. Though you're politicizing and sexualizing this, let's look at the history of mental illness (in the West). Before the 18th century, the mentally ill were dealt with in one's family, looking after their different kinds of needs. Some of the mentally ill were called witches or heathens and burned at the steak. Mental asylums in the 18th century and thereafter removed many of these mentally ill people from their families and from society. In the late 1950s an anti-psychiatry movement challenged the asylum traditions, claiming that people could heal themselves in a number of other ways, rather than in asylums, or with psychiatrists or with psychologists. By the 1970s it was popular to read self-help books while also attending psychotherapy sessions and taking anti-depressants. This continues today. Access to others via the internet in the 2000s expanded approaches to mental illness. Many who were previously considered to be mentally ill began to understand that their conditions were not necessarily part of a mental illness. The modern 'othering' of people who are considered abnormal expanded in the 16th century, became worse in the 18th century, and was reduced in the 1970s. Today in modern democracies that allow freedom of speech and movement there are fewer restrictions on people who are considered 'different'. For the first time in modern history these unusual people have the right to live as they wish in many 1st world countries. There are fascist political movements that want to put a stop to the acceptance of these unusual people in society, because this kind of fascist rhetoric is pupular among voters who hate unusual people. The hatred of unusual people is merely a condition of the increadibly stupid and uneducated fascists in society. There is no good reason to hate unusual people.

Moreover, harassment of women is common in all militaries and the concerns of these women will likely get more attention now that they've been quoted in the Guardian, because the unusually impressive Ukraine military PR departments will want this addressed. Not that this will necessarily change anything, but one benefit of the report is that women are able to speak openly about the harassment, which is much more than one can see in many, if not most, other militaries. And regarding the issue of sending men to the front, this is to be expected in the current situation and it would be almost impossible to prove that those men were targeted for revenge.

Thanks for this, Musky (updoot).

I've read the report because I wanted to know of this author's sources. The essay doesn't include references next to the statistics. It would fail as an undergraduate essay because footnotes are essential, especially for this kind of study of statistics, as an author supposedly with a B.S. and a J.M. would know very well. Omitting the sources for those statistics is intentional if the author actually has those degrees.

You can find the essay at Research Gate:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/315367933_Ninety_Two_Percent_Examining_the_Birth_Trends_Family_Structure_Economic_Standing_Paternal_Relationships_and_Emotional_Stability_of_Biracial_Children_with_African_American_Fathers

And when you look for where it was published: https://www.ssrn.com/index.cfm/en/

This is a non-academic self-publishing source that re-publishes anything without peer review. There is a mix of all kinds of articles here, many of which seem to be academic, but are not. For example there is a batch of Anti-Vax misinformation papers (also lacking appropriate references). Many of those are identified as "working papers," which are not published in peer-reviewed resources, though may have been proposed to peer-reviewed journals. The purpose of that website: "SSRN is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks."

EDIT SSRN removed it from their database (hence it was harder for you to find): https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2625893

EDIT DEBUNKED: This Academic [sic] Paper on Biracial Children with African-American Fathers is Likely a Fabrication - The paper has been downloaded nearly 7,000 times. https://abegaustad.medium.com/this-academic-paper-on-biracial-children-with-african-american-fathers-is-likely-a-fabrication-b26d900e96b4 "Given the plagiarism discovered in this paper, the questionable study design and statistical anomalies, and the paper’s direct and rapid spread to internet forums specializing in hate speech, it is extremely likely that this paper was fabricated in order to be used as propaganda against African-Americans in general and interracial relationships in particular. And these Twitter comments have been removed from Twitter:

And much more... search:

tiffany calloway ninety two percent

tiffany calloway blacks

And who is this Tiffany Calloway? I can't find her.

Regarding black children born out of wedlock, if I may change the topic slightly, one can search for that statistic and find that 72 percent black childen are born out of wedlock, which of course is shocking. Search: black childen born out of wedlock

TL/DR:

Calloway (if that's a real person) provides no sources for her statistics, has used unethical research methods, writing a hoax perpetrated for monetary gain.

What's really worrying is that numerous people want to use that false claim as a way of arguing that 9 out of 10 black men abandon their mixed-race children (per the conclusion in her article).

The facts are still quite concerning: "In 2011, 72% of black babies were born to unmarried mothers, while the 2018 National Vital Statistics Report provides a figure of 69.4 percent for this condition."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_family_structure

"In 1992, 94% of African-American segmented nuclear families were composed of an unmarried mother and children."

BREAKING: Judge rules against Antifa defendants in default, awards Andy Ngo $300,000 in damages over Portland attack by [deleted] in news

Ngo - one of the worst scumbags - is editor of The Postmillenial. Here's a better source:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/andy-ngo-wins-300k-from-defendants-who-ignored-lawsuit-over-portland-protest-beating/ar-AA1fALzW

The judge is a racist scumbag (a Laotian who finds in favor of a Vietnamese asshole with a ridiculous case).

Sinlapasai accepted the lawsuit’s claims as facts, as none of the trio ever denied the allegations and a prior judge had ruled all three defendants had lost the trial by default. She awarded the entire amount requested by Ngo’s attorney, Dorothy Yamamoto.

An attorney for Schott-Deputy made a last-ditch bid to avert defeat by default, but Sinlapasai rejected the effort, saying it was too late to respond to the 3-year-old lawsuit.

Schott-Deputy had entered the courtroom briefly during the first trial, but was ejected because the gallery was open only to news media.

This isn't worth $300k, or $30:

Schott-Deputy was “one of the first to strike” Ngo as he live-streamed a protest in downtown Portland on May 29, 2019, while Allen hit Ngo over the head with a sign and Belyea tossed a milkshake on him, according to the lawsuit.

His earlier lawsuits have failed or were settled out of court.

Chanpone Sinlapasai - who was appointed last December - should be disbarred.

That's not one of the charges. It's a quote from Trump, of part of the evidence (NOTE your sources when you post a quote).

You seems to be interested in the Georgia state charges.

I'll help you understand them. Which of these 4 are 'retarded' and why?:

Violating Georgia's racketeering act: The indictment alleges that Mr Trump, "while associated with an enterprise, unlawfully conspired" through a pattern of fraudulent activity to change the outcome of the election. This falls under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (Rico) Act, which has been used to bring down mafia bosses like John Gotti

Solicitation of violation of oath by public officer: Mr Trump is facing three counts on this charge, including one related to a January 2021 phone call between Mr Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, during which prosecutors allege Mr Trump asked Mr Raffensperger to "unlawfully" alter or adjust the the certified returns for presidential electors

Conspiracy to impersonate a public officer: The indictment alleges Mr Trump unlawfully conspired to influence certain individuals to falsely act as elected officials "with intent to mislead"

Conspiracy to commit forgery in the first degree: The charge alleges that Mr Trump intended to defraud the public by conspiring to make a false document titled "CERTIFICATE OF THE VOTES OF THE 2020 ELECTORS FROM GEORGIA", a document which would have made Mr Trump appear to be the winning candidate in Georgia

False statements and writings and filing false documents: The purpose of the false statements, of which there are several listed, was to persuade Georgia legislators to "reject lawful" votes cast by duly elected officials, the indictment alleges

The report is here:

https://www.ubs.com/global/en/media/display-page-ndp/en-20230815-global-wealth-report-2023.html

Business Insider is a clickbait company, nothing more.

As usual, countries with the highest income inequality continue to show increased wealth in the top .01%. It's nothing new in Russia, Mexico, India and Brazil.

Whereas:

In terms of wealth per adult, Switzerland continues to top the list followed by the USA, Hong Kong SAR, Australia and Denmark despite sizeable reductions in mean wealth versus 2021.

Reduction in wealth inequalities - Along with the decline in aggregate wealth, overall wealth inequality also fell in 2022, with the wealth share of the global top 1% falling to 44.5%. The number of USD millionaires worldwide fell by 3.5 million during 2022 to 59.4 million. This figure does not, however, take into account 4.4 million “inflation millionaires” who would no longer qualify if the millionaire threshold were adjusted for inflation in 2022.

Global median wealth, arguably a more meaningful indicator of how the typical person is faring, did in fact increase by 3% in 2022 in contrast to the 3.6% fall in wealth per adult. For the world as a whole, median wealth has increased five-fold this century at roughly double the pace of wealth per adult, largely due to the rapid wealth growth in China.

A brighter outlook - According to the report’s projections, global wealth will rise by 38% over the next five years, reaching USD 629 trillion by 2027. Growth by middle-income markets will be the primary driver of global trends. The report estimates wealth per adult to reach USD 110,270 in 2027 and the number of millionaires to reach 86 million while the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) is likely to rise to 372,000 individuals.

Iqbal Khan, President Global Wealth Management at UBS, said: “As the world’s largest truly global wealth manager, we are uniquely positioned to draw on knowledge and insights from across our wealth management business. This year’s Global Wealth Report reveals valuable insights about the state of our economy and society, as well as the shifting meaning and potential of prosperity. This sweeping analysis of household wealth covers the estimated wealth holdings of 5.4 billion adults around the world and across the wealth spectrum. It looks to future trends, helping us to frame expectations, understand the ever-changing nature of wealth creation, and better conceive of the power of wealth to broadly benefit our society.”

Anthony Shorrocks, economist and report author, said: “Much of the decline in wealth in 2022 was driven by high inflation and the appreciation of the US dollar against many other currencies. If exchange rates were held constant at 2021 rates, then total wealth would have increased by 3.4% and wealth per adult by 2.2% during 2022. This is still the slowest increase of wealth at constant exchange rates since 2008. Keeping exchange rates constant but counting the effects of inflation results in a real wealth loss of –2.6% in 2022. Similarly, financial assets contributed most to wealth declines while non-financial assets (mostly real estate) stayed resilient, despite rapidly rising interest rates. But the relative contributions of financial and non-financial assets may reverse in 2023 if house prices decline in response to higher interest rates.”

Nannette Hechler-Fayd’herbe, Chief Investment Officer for the EMEA region and Global Head of Economics & Research at Credit Suisse, said: “Wealth evolution proved resilient during the COVID-19 era and grew at a record pace during 2021. But inflation, rising interest rates and currency depreciation caused a reversal in 2022. Over the next five years, we expect global wealth will rise by 38% reaching USD 629 trillion by 2027, with wealth per adult looking set to increase by 30% to reach USD 110,270. We also expect the number of millionaires to grow markedly over the next five years to reach 86 million, while the number of UHNWIs will rise to 372,000.”

Multiple posts on social media have claimed that the Nazi party were socialists, due to their full name—the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

This argument has been used to attack socialism through association with Nazi policies. It has also led to confusion, as Nazism is normally associated with fascism and far-right-wing views.

The issue of whether the Nazis were socialists isn’t a straightforward one, due to how the Nazi party developed and grew its base of support. But the consensus among historians is that the Nazis, and Hitler in particular, were not socialists in any meaningful sense.

Historians have regularly disavowed claims that Hitler adhered to socialist ideology. Historian Richard Evans wrote of the Nazis’ incorporation of socialist into their name in 1920, “Despite the change of name, however, it would be wrong to see Nazism as a form of, or an outgrowth from, socialism….Nazism was in some ways an extreme counter-ideology to socialism”. Or as simply put by historian and Hitler expert Ian Kershaw, “Hitler was never a socialist.”

Socialism, for supporters of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, appeared to substitute Marx’s idea of class war with a race one.

The Nazis didn’t create the term “National socialism” themselves; both the left-leaning Czech National Socialist Party and right-leaning Austrian National socialism movement predated the Nazi party in Germany. The term was added to the party’s title in 1920—turning the German Worker’s Party into the National Socialist German Worker’s Party. This, along with their manifesto, was done to appeal to the working classes.

This can lead to confusion as to what national socialism meant. Though they sometimes described themselves as socialist, their general ideology and treatment of left-wing figures reflected their true views.

In Hitler’s speeches, he established his idea of socialism as something only for select Germans the Nazi party deemed worthy. In his 1920 speech “Why We Are Anti-Semites” he claimed Judaism was the opposite of socialism by aligning it with capitalism at a time when Germany’s workers were suffering.

In the same year, the party outlined their party programme, which included a number of points which could be seen to align with socialist and anti-capitalist ideals. However, historian of the period Karl Dietrich Bracher has referred to the programme as “propaganda” through which Hitler gained support and then discarded once he achieved power.

Hitler worked closely with industrialists—in 1933 he held a meeting with a number of German industrial figures and gained their trust by speaking of the communist threat. In return, they gave millions of Reichmarks to fund the Nazi party in the upcoming elections. Many developed close relationships with the Nazi regime and flourished under the ideology—the Krupp family supplied Germany with arms during World War Two, readily dismissed Jewish employees, and it's then head Alfried Krupp joined the Nazi party in 1938.

Hitler also suppressed trade unions and refused to give the homes of German princes to the people, as he felt this would move the party towards communism.

Socialists, along with other left-wing political activists opposed the Nazi regime and were persecuted under it. The Communist Party and Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Germany were banned in 1933, along with the limitation of the power of all those who opposed Nazi rule. Many SPD members were arrested, sent to concentration camps, or exiled to Prague, Paris and London. The first concentration camp in Dachau, built-in 1933, was intended to inter the Nazi’s left-wing opponents. Hitler was also vocally critical of the “November criminals”—those who led Germany after the First World War and signed the Armistice and the Treaty of Versailles. These leaders were social democrats.

More left-leaning members of the Nazi party were also targeted; Otto Strasser and his brother Gregor followed a strand of Nazism that wanted to remove the elites Hitler courted from power. Gregor was killed along with other pro-worker members during the Night Of the Long Knives.

It's not a false assumption for the specific Biden proposal.

Tax reform includes staff for the IRS (previously voted against by Repubs) and cancellations of tax loopholes like offshore tax havens. Non-Domenstic investors should also be taxed much more than they are, in the US and UK.

Regardless, previous tax cuts and loopholes should be reversed. Unlikely that rich donors will allow Congress puppets to do that, but it's the CORRECT proposal from the Biden Admin.

It's a fascist practice back to the 30s and an authoritarian propaganda back to the ancient Greeks to attack the fact checkers, reporters, and the highly educated, in order to promote false narratives by frauds. It's the one way in which frauds trick people, /u/jet199, and Saiditors are dumb enough to fall for it. Try this: pick one Snopes article and debunk it. NO ONE who critiques Snopes is doing that. Instead we only see unfounded claims on Saidit, such as, "they play little linguistic games to obscure the facts." It's as if Snopes (and you note wikipedia) is somehow part of an evil conspiracy to trick everyone with their fact checking. Well, if they are, give an example. It seems that no one ever does that on Saidit. You mention a wikipedia article without linking to it, regarding the tallest mountain in a region, arguing that a region can include different regions and different mountain height records. A region name does indeed often include different region names and geological features. Seems that part of your argument is a "linguistic game." Why bother? What's the actual problem with fact checkers? They annoy frauds? Good.

Think about this for a second, Jet. You want to make a general argument about all of my comments by remembering a comment I made TWO YEARS AGO?? Seriously? I wonder when was your last normal relationship with a human. This is nuts. (A lot can happen in 2 years.)

Also, your other comments are helpful, because I didn't know that you had this much irrational hatred for me, and I don't know why. Duly noted.

Anyway, let's look at the "morally bankrupt" argument? Do you realize that I am one of only 2 or 3 users who argue AGAINST the genocide of Ukrainians, AGAINST laws that limit women's rights, AGAINST political corruption, AGAINST spreading COVID, etc, etc. If I agreed with users who promote Christo-fascist, authorian, genocidal disinformation for the far right, like the others here, THAT would be morally bankrupt. Also keep in mind that it's perfectly normal for fascists at Saidit NOT to like non-fascists, and to want to limit the free speech, voting rights, human rights, reproductive rights, educational rights, etc. etc. of the non-fascists. If Saiditors agreed with me, I'd certainly be morally bankrupt. I've explained this many times in the past 2.5 years. It's good to be different on this website. I've also explained which right wing issues I agree with and which left wing issues I agree with, and how I am more of a centrist, but I am not explaining that again.

Now let's look at that 2-year-old comment you've NOT FORGOTTEN:

What that means is that you were trying to be a racist cunt, rather than denote that you were indeed a racist cunt. It's about a photoshopped image spread by racist cunts in social media 2 years ago. Though I did not explicitly say so at the time, I can clarify that everyone sharing that photoshopped image was indeed a racist cunt. For example the top comment to your post was:

This is obviously wrong and certainly unfair.

For example, my latest experiment: https://saidit.net/s/politics/comments/bbxt/91_criminal_charges

Saidit's anti-corruption yelping over the years came to an abrupt conceptual end with that post. (No Saiditor in that thread - other than I - wants Trump's corruption to be addressed AND no Saiditor was able to propose an argument against one of those 91 charges. It was one of the most obvious slam dunks in Saidit's history, proving that many Saiditors support political corruption, they parrot the talking points of far right disinformation news media, and they are hypocrites when they've complained about the lack of attention to political corruption in the past. Those 91 charges barely scratch the surface of numerous examples of the Trump crime family's corruption, and yet why would anyone on Saidit want to support him by calling those 91 charges erroneous? What's very good about this is that the far right social media could elevate Trump to GOP presidential candidate nomination - much to the chagrin of many in the GOP - and it's already well-known that he'd lose against the corpse of Biden. The main problem is that Trump's supporters have caused a social rift in the US that is dividing Americans. Very sad.)

It's also not the way I respond to your comments or posts, which 99% of the time have been very polite, because I am a fan of your quips, which can be wonderfully sharp-witted and unexpected amongst these Americans' crass comments. You are of course a jerk to me, and I am not sure why, nor does it matter, but the least you can do is try to avoid lying.).
