I can't think of a 'folk hero' in history who was this much of a corrupt, narcissist, grifting, asshole. Anyone admitting they like someone like Trump immediately identifies them as incredibly stupid.

I'd lump all the presidents since Carter in there. The difference is that the rest of them knew enough to shut up when their handlers told them to shut up.

None of those assholes fit the definition of: "a type of hero – real, fictional or mythological – with their name, personality and deeds embedded in the popular consciousness of a people, mentioned frequently in folk songs, folk tales and other folklore; and with modern trope status in literature, art and films."

They're all heroes to certain parts of the population, dictionary definition or no.
