Yeah, some shows are definitely overdoing it. It's an extension of bodily autonomy rights. If a finger nail clipping of mine could save 100 lives, I am within my right to deny anyone who asks me to give it up. I have full and final rights to my body. So, if someone can decide to not give a nail clipping to save 100 people, why shouldn't a woman be allowed to not give a whole plethora of bodily resources to sustain a life for months in the womb? I think this is the logic it relies upon.

I am confused by the US divide here, though. Usually, the right is pro freedom, against rules and regulations, and abortion feels like a freedom that they advocate removed by rules and regulation. Also, the US right seems to be in favour of less immigration and naturalization, more gerrymandering etc to keep the voting populace favourable, but if there were no abortions that would potentially increase demographics that tend to lean left (planned parenthood was started by people wanting to curb the black population after all), so this seems somewhat counter-intuitive. Also, if the unborn child is so important, why is the right so unwilling to increase maternal care and welfare, like proper maternity leave. If the nuclear family is important, parental leave like practiced in for instance Scandinavia, is very healthy to establish strong family bonds.

If you ask any old, conservative person if men can become women or vice versa you will be laughed at. The main emboldening issue for the whole trans ideology is that before the 1950s, if you asked any old, conservative person if black people should have the exact same rights as white people, or if men should be able to marry men, you would get the same response. So obviously, since the world has accepted that racism and homophobia are morally wrong (and I agree), they just assume that it is the same regressive attitude they need to overcome this time. They are morally right, and history will prove it, they think. But the problem is that they are not making a moral claim, like previous civil rights groups did. They are making a claim about reality, and we have more objective ways to determine the truth of reality claims. And those ways are pretty much not agreeing with them in any way, shape or form.

I used to think these were the two groups too, but lately I'm concerned that the first category might be something like internalized homophobia or some other weird, but chronic, mental trap. I actually think there are 4 groups

Group 1: AGP on speed: Narcissistic trolls. These will be the Jessica Yanivs of the world.
Group 2: AGP. A sexual fetish that due to TRA people lean a bit too much into.
Group 3: Easily manipulated youth and young adults with mental health issues or autism. These include rapid onset gender dysphoria etc.
Group 4: Gay kids who are easily manipulated/tricked and trapped by TRA "theories"

All long-time studies of children with gender dysphoria (Tavistock, Scandinavian studies, they're not many, they have flaws, but they are all we got) have shown that these children in 90%+ of cases grow up to accept their sex as their gender and turn out to be gay. So your argument is that ~10% of these kids are "truly" trans, but I am leaning to them just never getting to the acceptance stage for some reason. I do however think that this distinction does not matter for how they should ideally be treated with regards to policy and legislation. Let them live as chosen "gender", but let's keep certain biological categories a matter of "sex" (sports, jails etc). The problem is that when you open up for these people to live as chosen gender, it opens the door for all the other groups to force themselves in through the same opening. We can't actually test for category 4. It's all or nothing. And "all" is currently shredding institutions and societal fabrics apart.
